unknown shards We haven't known Trell yet
Sam Script replied to Sam Script's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yes I agree that Rayse would need allies for his final goal thing, but it doesn't mean that Autonomy must be one of them. I believe that Hoid doesn't like Bavadin is because that Autonomy is self-centric, contrary to Hoid's active savior acts. Maybe Bavadin could've changed something in the past (maybe Hoid turned to him for help), but he just did nothing instead, thus let the disaster occured. We'd better see Autonomy as a neutral Shard in cosmere politics. It fits the intent. And being conservative on things we're not sure is fine. -
[Mad Theory Time] Mraize's other Identity.

@Erklitt K then, Szeth would be the one. It was my mean. I just said Kal might be possible, but I prefer Szeth as well. -
So here comes a group talking about Cosmere in Taiwan, we're called "17th Shardglass". And we talked about "cosmere cuisines" pretty often, even Mistwraiths could be edible, or at least we believe so XD Anywayy Presenting: Roasted Whitespine Cheek Meat with Lift Fine I'm not sure whether Whitespines have cheek or not but, that's it lol

unknown shards We haven't known Trell yet
Sam Script replied to Sam Script's topic in Cosmere Discussion
@Child of Hodor I don't think the Trelagism in preAscension era is the same religion in era2, however. Excellent quotes and proof provides, it tends to be like Trell is related to Rayse, but we can't yet say It is just Rayse. -
[Mad Theory Time] Mraize's other Identity.
Sam Script replied to Dahak's topic in Stormlight Archive
I believe it refers to Szeth as well, for that he used to be a Windrunner. If you feel that "because others don't correspond with the portrait of wind so it must be Mraize", I think that would be a big logical flaw. Interesting deduction about reviving of Tanavast. However, it is, as you said, a really crazy theory, rather than believable. Mraize acts offworld but he's a native Rosharan. He is one of the person least connected to wind something. Yes he's kinda mysterious so far, but it doesn't mean that all the mysterious stuff could just fit him. It would be nonsense. Last but not least, the Chapter titles might not be definitely related to characters in-chapter. I think the point was kinda over-emphasized. It is possible to refer to Kaladin in former pages. But I would still believe it's Szeth for now. -
unknown shards We haven't known Trell yet

Let me remind that there were never comments indicating that Autonomy is allied with Odium. We are not sure about their relationship at all. Yes we all know Hoid had beef toward both of 'em, but the reasons could possibly be seperate. Also, when do we have quotes about Svrakiss? I'll appreciate your explanation cuz I have no idea what you're saying about it and Odium. Interesting thoughts, I've noticed that as well, but no further thinking as I believe it is not referred to Connection. But yeah, we should take it in, too. Thanks anyway -

Ohh, so what would you think instead? I'm eager to know what Embodiment exactly mean Take that bro: http://coppermind.net/wiki/trellium -
Just add some stories we've known about the "Two Hoid" fact: The Hoid we know now is not the original Hoid. His name was Midius in Yolen, Hoid is his mentor's name. Then his mentor died, so Midius took teacher's name and become the new Hoid we see in every books now. Yes there are two Hoids but it's not like the things that the original Hoid appeared in ELANTRIS or MB era 1 and died sometime in the Cosmere time axis and then, boom, someone popped out to replace the Hoid blah blah. So far we know, if Dragonsteel in the future still contains the plot of Midius becoming the new Hoid, then the Hoid we see, Midius, is always the same person. Hoid still uses Lightweaving in the books, it would be fine to believe that he's still the one all along so far. But we're of Cosmere, everything might finally blow us away in the end XD. Interesting theory, though. Upvote for you.

unknown shards We haven't known Trell yet
Sam Script replied to Sam Script's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Thanks for the WoB!!! And it occurred to me that Trellium is "a silvery metal with a red cast to it, and dark red spots similar to rust." Maybe Trellium is influenced by Rayse, but not full embodiment of Odium, thus the fact that it is from a Shard we know will make sense as well. Advanced, it might indicate that TrellShard (temporary call) is under control of, or at least, influenced by Rayse. I still believe that TrellShard is one of the Seven left. I really don't think it would be Autonomy. Being welcome more comments varied from here :DDD -
Yes, Trell again. I don't know if anyone have indicated the following. Correct me if my realization gets anything wrong. So here comes two quotes from TheoryLand Interview Database (Harmony bless the providers): And: And so, we got two big points: 1)Trell is related to Odium. 2)We haven't seen Odium's embodiment yet. This interview took place in 2/14/2016, when BoM had released. In BoM, we've seen Trellium, believed to be Trell's metal, even though we are not sure about who or what Intent he really is. There's quite a lot comments speculating that Trell is actually Odium. And I think it's an attractive idea as well. But in my recognition we have no evidence supporting that yet. And now, the two entries seem to tell us that Trell is actually, not Odium. We've seen Trellium, but no Odium's embodiment for now. And maybe it's Bavadin? I don't believe that. But there are still seven Shards we haven't known running outside the Shardworlds we've seen. Sometimes we just ignored these possibilities. Seven unknown Shards. Thus, I believe Trell, if a Shard, would be one of the Seven rather than Odium or Autonomy. And what Trellium looks like give me a sense that he's nothing cute, either. What do you think?

Nale doesn't want the KR to come back to Roshar, so he's hunting down the Surgebinders with Nahel Bonds. By preventing the SBs from returning, he might think this could stop the next Desolation. As for Szeth, he just wielded Jezrien's Honorblade. He's not the SB when Desolation come, as a result not his prime target. I'm not sure why Nale chose Szeth to join the Order of Skybreakers, but for now Szeth still has no Nahel spren but Nightblood. No matter what Nale is gonna do to stop the True Desolation coming, he would have and has failed. Pretty weird, huh?

Can Windrunner lash a Hemurgic Spike
Sam Script replied to Asasasyn in White's topic in Stormlight Archive
Just my opinion. Nvm and correct me if I'm wrong: It's hard to Invest something Investitured. However Surgebinding aren't, in my perspective, really investing the object itself. It's more like... concentrate the stormlight on one object, then turn the stormlight into Surges, and the Surges (basically from the outside of that object) will then have its effects on the object. So technically the object is invested, but not Investitured. It's the target of Investiture, but it would eventually not contain Investiture. I believe that's how Surgebindings work. On the other hand, iirc, why you can't lash Shardplates is because Shardplates are installed gemstones, which will absorb or interfere the stormlight, thus make Lashings malfunction. So back to the Spikes topic, I believe it's available to Lash the Hemalurgic even Feruchemical spikes, as the stormlight doesn't directly Invest 'em when being Surgebinded. However it would be harder to Invest the more Invested one. For the interference law still exists. -
Stormlight Archive handmade song
Sam Script replied to Asasasyn in White's topic in Stormlight Archive
We are the world, we are the Radiants We are the ones who kill the parshendis, so take the shardblades There's a idea we're saying We're saving our own lives It's true, when desolations end Just you and me Okay that's pretty cruel. For listeners:/ -
Oh my this thread is so tense... I think all we are sometimes Elhokar. None of us is perfect, yet maybe others see as perfect, but we can always find our own flaws and wanna improve it. That "Can you teach me?" is really a touching plot for many readers, enough to symbolize WoR itself. I used to dislike Elhokar as well, nonetheless, images of characters do change. I'm looking forward to seeing his growing-up in future SA, even though it might not be much helpful on main mission of fighting Odium. But that's the essence of Fantasy right? To see the glow and flaw of humanity in fictional characters, and to reflect ourselves on them. Everyone can find something they want in the stories. Hoid said. Btw so glad to see someone using term Cryptic. Stop calling them "Liespren" or "Truthspren" please XD

Well I believe mankind in Roshar are created. As Rosharans are called "Sons of Honor", but I might gradually change my mind. We've been confirmed that there is at least one race experiencing exodus in history in TWoK. What Ym said... It's really weird, is it fine to think it of directly clues? His story sounds more of a religion.
-
So I would try to describe this because I don't have the original English version on my hand, here it is: In WoR, Ym once told the little boy that Iriali should not accept the concept of god something because they belong to a long way/trip(?) And he said that Roshar is the 4th Continent, also they would eventually get to 7th Continent and become ONE. So this is pretty weird... I can hardly understand how much did Ym know about Cosmere? And WHAT was going on about his story? Does that mean Iriali once had an worldhopping exodus or anything else crazy? Any ideas???
-
Where does this paragraph come from??? I don't remember that it appears in WoR.
-
So this is similar to that Midius borrowed name Hoid from his mentor. Nice job Vasher XD
-
Curiosity kills a cat. Be sure you wanna spoil yourself lol
-
It might be nonsense but "vash" in Russian means "your", maybe it's opposite of Vasher's Eccentricity during Manywar? Just blindshot.

@Doctor12 For Botanica's suggestion, I add some Traditional Chinese Versions here: I also put the Shard interpretations here, both Traditional and Simplified versions: Because the publisher dealing with Brandon's book in Taiwan, Fantasy Foundation, hadn't made much efforts on Cosmere terms interpretation before my blog, so most Cosmere terms in Taiwan are followed after my blog XD
-
Oh my that is A question XD Same as Taiwan, we called it 引誓(inn-shih), 引: bring or quote, or pull something closer, 誓: oath So we don't translate it with 者.
-
@Doctor12 Just guess XD Well these are just names so I'm not going to explain each character unless necessary. I'll list both Traditional/Simplified versions. (If I know the Simplified name ===ELANTRIS + EMPEROR'S SOUL Raoden 瑞歐汀/雷奧登 Sarene 紗芮奈/? Hrathen 拉森/? Shai 珊/阿思 ===MISTBORN Vin 紋 Kelsier 凱西爾 The Lord Ruler 統御主/御主大帝 Sazed 沙賽德/薩奇德 Wax 瓦 Wayne 偉恩 ===WARBREAKER (Mainland China hasn't published yet) Vasher 法榭 Vivenna 維溫娜 Siri 希麗 Lightsong 萊聲(Taiwan's interpretations of Returneds are pretty interesting, they're usually translated by both the pronunciations and meanings, eg: 聲 means Sound, corresponded to "song") ===STORMLIGHT ARCHIVES(Taiwan has TWoK and WoR, China has TWoK so far) Kaladin 卡拉丁 Shallan Davar 紗藍 達伐/沙蘭 達瓦 Dalinar Kholin 達利納 科林/達力拿 寇林 Szeth 賽司/澤斯 Eshonai 伊尚尼/伊舒娜 Syl 西兒 Pattern 圖樣(meaning interpretation) Jasnah 加絲娜/迦熙娜 And the most important Hoid Taiwan: 霍德(sound interpretation) China: 須空(meaning interpretation, something similar to emptiness? @Botanica XD) To see more Chines sites of Cosmere, you can visit https://site.douban.com/122894/room/3248288/ This is BotanicaXu's Simplified Chinese Website And http://samscript12.pixnet.neblog This is my Traditional Chinese Blog (Is it illegal in Forums to do this kind of promotion? If so then sorry and I'll delete these)
-
@Doctor12 Yes! That's what I mean lol Stormlight, similar to Stormfather, is translated into 颶光, hurricane and light. The translation is used in both Chinese Editions. And spren is interpreted as 靈, means spirit. Btw are you Malaysian?
