  1. I think my first exposure to Lindsey was her cover of "Party Rock Anthem." I had the good fortune to be able to go to one of her concerts in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, a few years ago, which was TOTALLY EPIC. It was a super small, intimate venue, and my brother Ryan and I stood down right in front of the stage the whole time. I managed to snag a high five as she was leaving the stage at one point too. It's not just males who enjoy Lindsey's dancing--I love watching her too, and the Shadows video is one of my absolute favorites. The fact that she can simultaneously play her violin and sound good AND dance so gracefully makes me a little jealous.
  2. This makes me happy. I know pretty much everybody is angsting about when Stormlight 3 is going to be released, and I think it's great to have a definite measure laid down that shows how good Brandon has been to us, his fans. Kudos to you for gathering all this info and doing the math!
  3. I have now resorted to Googling "space zombie books" and "zombies in space" to try to figure this out. No luck yet.
  4. The only way to temporarily alleviate the symptoms is to devour other Sanderson books.
  5. Next game is at 5pm Utah time, right? (about 40 minutes from the time of this post) Or is it an hour after that at 6pm?
  6. You know you're a Sanderfan when you own Kindle copies of all the books just so you can look stuff up quickly.
  7. This fits the AI and space clues, but I'm pretty sure there are no zombies.
  8. If you insist... Silverblade, you have an awesomely quirky sense of humor.
  9. I have been laughing my butt off today reading To Be Or Not To Be. No idea how much of the book I've gotten through since I'm jumping around haphazardly from page to page according to my choices, but I'm having a blast.
  10. I saw it tonight and thought it was excellent. Plenty of laughs (my favorite was the whole "You gave your girlfriend radioactive jewelry??" exchange), highly entertaining fight scenes, and a totally badchull new female character in Jaylah. I also loved Jaylah's loud music and how it played into the plot. A little far-fetched, maybe, but very satisfying. I spent a large portion of the movie trying to figure out why Krall's voice sounded so familiar. (Because of his heavy makeup and whatnot to make him look alien, I didn't bother trying to place his face.) I was considering the possibility that he might have been played by James Earl Jones (the voice of Darth Vader), Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus from The Matrix), or Michael Clarke Duncan (who I know best as Kingpin in the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie), but when Idris Elba came up in the credits, I and the friend I was with both went, "Ohhhhhhh!" because we both know him as Heimdall from the MCU.
  11. We've hit page 100! Does that mean it's time for Random Things X?
  12. Glad to hear it.
  13. Storms, @Pinnacle-Ferring! This is as amazing as sheep's art! ALL THE UPVOTES.
  14. @Alfa You know you're a Sanderfan when you can correct another fan about which oath is which.
  15. Oooh I didn't know that's how Nightblood operated. Good to know! Now I'm super hoping you are right about Szeth's issues with the sword.
  16. Hehe @Mestiv you SHOULD be proud of that.
  17. @Silverblade5 Aww man, that stinks! You're not hurt though, are you?
  18. Doesn't look like it, though the Amazon description does say it's a retelling of the Big Bad Wolf fairytale. It has lots of positive reviews on Amazon and is apparently the 4th in a popular paranormal romance series. I think the names are just a case of laziness on the author's part. Also: I think I figured out why the piano riff in "Welcome to the Black Parade" sounds so familiar to me. The first several notes sound a lot like the chorus of the song "Reflection" from the Disney movie Mulan, specifically the line "When will my reflection show who I am inside?"
  19. I am dying of laughter but also kind of sad... I'm subscribed to BookBub, which--for anyone who isn't familiar with it--is a service that sends you a daily email about free or discounted ebooks according to the preferences you set regarding what genres, authors, and ebook formats you like. Today's email included a book called Moonlight (what an original title! NOT), and this was the blurb about it: How much more cliched could you get with the character names? I mean seriously, a werewolf named Stalkson Grey falling in love with a girl named Luna? SMH.
  20. It's been like 2 weeks since anyone posted in here, so...bump? Checked out the albums "The Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance and "Living Things" by Linkin Park from my library. Loving both of them!
  21. Hey @TwiLyghtSansSparkles, you inspired me to also check out the album "The Black Parade" from my library and listen to it, and I can see why you love it! I love it too. When I got to the song "Welcome to the Black Parade," the repetitive piano riff at the beginning sounded really really familiar. Does anyone know if that riff (or a very similar one) has been used in another song?
  22. I won't be able to get all 8, but I'll give it a shot... 1. Benjamin Franklin ($100 bill) 2. Andrew Jackson ($5 bill?) 3. George Washington ($1 bill) 4. Everybody who signed the Declaration of Independence, including John Hancock and Thomas Jefferson ($2 bill--does this bill count? They don't print them anymore, but they're still legitimate usable money.)
  23. I'm sorry to hear about everyone's rotten experiences. Maybe some pictures of cat hugs will help.
  24. Although I myself have not seen the show, I know of it because I have a friend named Laura Palmer. Once when we were still new acquaintances, I commented on her name, mentioning that it was the title of a song by the band Bastille, and she said that she gets a lot of comments like that when she meets new people--sometimes because they know the Bastille song and sometimes because they watched Twin Peaks. (Apparently the Bastille song is a nod to Twin Peaks.) I would love to see your colorful hair! Purple, pink, and blue go really well together IMO. That combination reminds me of berry-flavored candies and fruit snacks and stuff. XD
  25. I will say this about the Hobbit movie trilogy: Smaug was storming AWESOME. Not just Benedict Cumberbatch's voice acting, which was, of course, fabulous, but the visual rendition of the dragon onscreen. And if you haven't seen the behind the scenes footage of Benedict doing the motion capture, crawling around on the floor pretending to be a dragon, go watch it now. What I've been reading lately, in order to keep this post at least semi-on-topic: just finished The Darkest Magic by Morgan Rhodes, the 2nd book in a sort of spinoff/prequel series to her Falling Kingdoms books. Funniest character in the book was a reanimated severed head (who was somehow able to talk and complained of being in danger of drowning, even though his lungs were not attached...?). Next up: The Last Star, the last book in Rick Yancey's 5th Wave trilogy. Update: I have given up on The Last Star. I realized that I don't actually like any of the characters, and the author's failure to stay in one tense was driving me up the wall. Moving on to To Be or Not To Be? by Ryan North--a choose-your-own-adventure adaptation of the Shakespeare play Hamlet.
