  1. Good idea. Monty Python is essential pop culture knowledge.
  2. It may not have been linked yet, but it's definitely been referenced multiple times.
  3. I haven't seen Assassin's Creed, but I would like to. (I haven't played any of the games, either, but I love the "parkour assassins with snazzy clothes" idea. Plus, MICHAEL FASSBENDER.)

  5. Just finished reading a really interesting book (nonfiction) called Alex & Me by Irene Pepperberg. She's a scientist whose research on the intelligence of her African Grey parrot, Alex, pretty much broke behavioral scientists' brains because Alex proved so much smarter than most people thought it was possible for any non-primate animal to be.
  6. I made it back to Utah without any disasters today! The plane left and arrived pretty much on time, my seatmates were pleasant, and the snow didn't cause any problems for my drive home from the airport. Thank the Stormfather!
  7. The Hounds of Baskerville was actually one of my favorite episodes. The Abominable Bride confused the crem out of me, although I highly enjoyed seeing Victorian-era versions of the BBC Sherlock cast (in contrast to the Victorian-era Robert Downey Jr Sherlock movie cast). I always get a kick out of Sherlock's inability to remember Lestrade's first name and thought John's cueing him in this episode was hilarious. I have more to say, but it's late and I have to get up freakishly early tomorrow, so this'll have to do for now.
  8. One of the buildings at my middle school sure looked like a prison. Boring gray, very few windows. The other building, however, sort of looked like a McDonald's thanks to the checkered red-and-yellow tiles on the outside. XD
  9. Somewhat related:
  10. @dead-moth Considering that you hadn't seen a photo of Bleeder before drawing that portrait, it's uncannily accurate! I could imagine you doing very well as a police sketch artist.
  11. Credit for this meme idea goes to @bleeder. Possible minor spoilers for... the Cosmere in general, I guess? I also have two more Joseph Ducreux memes with Sanderson quotes.
  12. I've become a kandra and joined the ranks of badchulls like MeLaan and TenSoon.
  13. @bleeder Remind me, you're in Tennessee, right?
  14. Re: people not impressed by Culver's: did you try one of their concrete mixers? (Basically Culver's equivalent of a DQ Blizzard) I don't usually go there for meals, just for the frozen custard, because it's delicious!
  15. When you read the phrase "on hold" and your brain registers it as "on Hoid."
  16. Dear neighbors: Just because it's New Year's does not mean that letting your young children run around in the street screaming bloody murder at midnight is acceptable behavior. Fireworks, blowing air horns or noisemakers--those I can understand. But trust me, NO ONE enjoys listening to screaming kids.
  17. @Zathoth Knowing that you wrote it, I'd be shocked if it DIDN'T get weird.
  18. I just finished the White Sand graphic novel, which I very much enjoyed! Beautiful art.
  19. @Brightness Enna I watched the video without sound and was still snorting with laughter. Now I'm imagining tsum tsums of axehounds or chasmfiends or TenSoon. XD
  20. What @Kaymyth and @Slowswift said!
  21. @Quiver I think a screencap comic is a great idea. I'm a big fan of Darths and Droids, and I'd love to see what you come up with for your own comic of RWBY.
  22. Lol, I think I'm already pretty good at adulation.... I'm still figuring out the adulting, though. XD In 2017 I will finish reading all the books I've bought but haven't gotten around to reading. In 2017, the person after me will try at least 3 unusual new foods.
  23. You know you're a Sanderfan when you go see Rogue One, repeatedly mishear the name Krennic as Kredik, and keep thinking of Kredik Shaw.
  24. I saw Passengers in theaters today. That movie gave me even more feels than Rogue One; I'm pretty sure I spent literally half the movie crying. Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt's performances were both spectacularly vibrant, emotional, and authentic, excellently complemented by Michael Sheen as the android bartender. Highly recommended.
  25. @Kestrel Is Sweetpea an eastern or a western screech-owl? I forget where you live. Also, she sounds like a riot! Reminds me of a comparison someone made once between cats and owls. They said something along the lines of, "Owls are amazing because they're totally fluffy and adorable but they're also perfect killing machines. I think this is all the proof we need that owls are simply cats in bird form."
