@Ammanas In his solo panel today, Jim Butcher talked a bit about the future of the Dresden Files. He said his next release will be Brief Cases, a collection of short stories including one about Harry spending a day at the zoo with Maggie and Mouse. IIRC, after that the next priority is Peace Talks.

I'm kinda angry at everything right now. My last few hours at Salt Lake Comic Con today were really rough. I spent over an hour standing in line for a book signing with Jim Butcher, and then immediately stood another half hour in line for Brandon's solo panel. So by this point my feet were VERY sore. During the panel, I stood in line some MORE to ask a question about Shallan but didn't get a chance because it took too long for people in front of me to get their answers. (Brandon is incapable of giving a short answer to any question.) And they weren't even good questions, mostly the stuff that gets asked at every signing: Which of your characters is your favorite; what advice do you have for young writers; where do you get your ideas, and so on. Way to waste all the Q&A time, guys. In the last panel I went to (spotlight on Jim Butcher), I ended up sitting next to a guy who was chomping on popcorn. I think I could've dealt with that until he finished it off if he hadn't then begun sucking on his teeth and making the most revolting kissing noises. I relocated myself to the back of the room but had a bit of a breakdown despite that. Had a hard time actually enjoying the panel. (If this seems like a really weird/stupid thing to get bothered about, please read the Wikipedia page on misophonia. I have it and it sucks.) One other thing that sucks is driving in the rain on the freeway. Half the time I can't see the storming lane lines, and the other half of the time the other cars are driving like grannies when I just really want to get home as soon as possible. *sigh*

@Elsecaller3414 I probably saw you at Salt Lake Comic Con today; I saw two different Shallan cosplayers while I was standing in line for Brandon's solo panel. Is your hair on the longer side or the shorter side, and was your safehand covered by a glove or an overlarge sleeve?

@Darkness Ascendant It just kinda happened... Once everybody in the signing line had one, there were still a bunch left and nobody knew what to do with them. So I pocketed them and spent the rest of the day giving them to all the Sanderson cosplayers I saw.

Oh btw if any of y'all want cards (business card size) about the Kaladin Kickstarter, I have a big stack leftover from when they were being handed out in Brandon's signing line today. I'll be Harry Dresden tomorrow: fedora, long black coat, Splatter Con tee-shirt, plain wooden staff.

@Argent Yeah, it was a time issue and a "my hands are too full to get out my phone and record" issue. I'm going to his spotlight panel tomorrow, though, so I should have an easier time of it there, especially if I get in line early and grab a seat near the microphone.

So I made it to Brandon's signing today by a happy accident but didn't get any WoBs besides "Hey! I know you!"

@Mestiv Yeah, but I was more amused by his neon pants. They soooo didn't fit with the solemn warrior persona of Teal'c. XD

Hey, for those of you who were at the con today, did anyone take note of when Brandon's Friday signing(s) is/are? I was planning to go to one today but it didn't work out, and I forgot to go back and check the schedule.

@Darkness Ascendant I can sightread quite well on the drum set when I'm playing Rock Band, but I'm not nearly as comfortable with actual sheet music for drums. XD

@Silverblade5 Owwww! I got my finger shut in a car door once, and it sounds like you're experiencing the same pain I did.

I can sightread pretty well on oboe, not quite as well when I'm singing. I'm complete rubbish at it on piano, though. XD
