  3. @Yata - well noted, somehow I didn't think about it. I suppose I'm still in the camp that doesn't believe Heralds come from offworld (or at least off-Greater Roshar), but I guess Tanavast could've told them. Which begs the question, why bother? Could aluminum somehow impact - or even nullify - voidbringing?
  4. Defend Luthadel. At least I'd know I'm dying for a good cause. Would you rather have a Warbreaker RPG or Elantris RPG?
  5. Me too, me too... Hurt Straff for general jakassery; heal Lord Ruler, because he was pretty cool. 1. Hrathen- 8 3. The Lord Ruler- 8 4. Marsh- 5 5. Ruin- 5 6. Trell- 5 7. Miles- 5 8. 6. So we know from Shallan's flashback that aluminum cannot be obtained on Roshar by mining - it can only be soulcast. So the question is - how do Rosharans know about aluminum's existence in the first place? It's not like you can set your soulcaster to "random", so the first soulcaster to figure out aluminum must've known of its existence already. Yet aluminum can only be soulcast, so we've got a chicken-or-egg kind of problem. Unless, of course: A. aluminum was imported from offworld, but if so, how did it happen and who and why introduced aluminum to Roshar in the first place? B. aluminum used to occur naturally on Roshar but by the time of Shallan's fashback it has either been mined completely or covered with enough crem to make mining impossible. C. There a WoB I'm missing that explains it. I'm not quite sure what to think. Any thoughts or ideas on that?
  7. So Sadeas is yet again the first one to go? How unsurprising. Anyway, hurt Dilaf, heal The Lord Ruler. 1. Hrathen- 8 2. Dilaf- 2 3. The Lord Ruler- 7 4. Marsh- 6 5. Ruin- 5 6. Trell- 5 7. 8. Marsh has a ton of fans, I think. Just look at all the questions about his actions during W&W books and whether or not he'll get his Secret History. Also, I'm pretty happy the final contest was between him and Kal, even if there was little chance for Marsh to win. I really didn't like it turning into Stormlightfeast, though I wouldn't be able to explain why.
  9. *puts her tinfoil hat on* Glys looks just like Renarin. Sometimes, when other people thought that they were talking to Renarin, they were actually talking to Glys *takes the hat off* Now that I have this particular stupid thought out of my head, let me propose another possibility - what if Glys looks very similar to something we've already seen, but not a voidbringer? For example, what if his face is changing all the time, like Cuciseh's? Or book 3 will give us description of Nightwatcher, and later we'll find out that Glys looks very similar to her? Both could have quite some ramifications, though I'm not quite certain what they'd be. Also, @Erklitt, I don't think Nale is coming for Adolin anytime soon. The last we've seen of him, he was setting out for Shinovar, and newsletter's excercept places him somewhere in Lift's vicinity (Tashikk?).
  10. Perhaps that's a bit off topic, but considering the location of Sesemalex Dar, I wonder if we won't see the city from Lift's POV - she seems to be far closer to it than the rest of the POV characters. She started in Azir and, IIRC, the newsletter fragment places her in Tashikk (am I correct?), so she seems to be moving in this direction. I like the idea that Tezim is Ishar, though I think the old man Axies has met in his first Interlude is pretty convincing as "corrupted" Ishar as well. My first idea for Tezim when I was reading the book was actually that he's somehow affiliated with the Voidbringers, or at least influenced by them, to create chaos around what's probably one of the Dawncities. If Sesemalex Dar has an Oathgate, it could be use to evacuate population quickly when Voidbringers come, so it stands to reason Odium would want to create - or at least perpetuate - chaos in the region. As for Herald's off-worldness, my pet theory is that they (and the rest of humanity in Greater Roshar) are from Braize, and Odium's arrival forced them to jump planets, making Heralds Braizian and off-world while not bringing "deep Cosmere" into one of main aspects of the story.
  11. Storms, Sadeas' smile when he gloats over Oathbringer is creepy as hell Likewise Wit leaning over Renarin. Brrrr. On another note, I believe I am starting to get repetitive in my praise for your work, so let me just note that your Gaz design is pretty much the same as how I imagined it.
  12. Bah! Heal Marsh, hurt Kaladin. 1. Kaladin 120 HP 2. Marsh 5 HP
  13. @Pagerunner - it's from JordanCon transcript. Granted, this doesn't explicitly say that Stormlight predate shattering, but larkins, chulls and chasmfiends all utilize Stormlight (see infopage on chulls pupation and chasmfiends coming out to grow gemhearts on hills). This isn't a change that happens overnight, or even during ten thousand years.
  14. In WoR prologue, yes, right before she accidentally elsecalls.
  15. Edit: wait, wait. Magestar ninja'd Daniyah, so it should be: 1. Kaladin 110 HP (Magestar) -> Kaladin 109 HP (Daniyah) 20. Marsh 15 HP (Magestar) -> Marsh 16 HP (Daniyah) So now, heal Marsh, hurt Kaladin. 1. Kaladin 108 HP 2. Marsh 17 HP
  16. That'd just prolonging the agony at this point... Heal Kaladin, hurt Marsh. 1. Kaladin 116 HP 20. Marsh 9 HP
  17. Hurt Shallan, heal Marsh. 1. Kaladin 106 HP 5. Shallan 2 HP 20. Marsh 17 HP
  18. We also have a WoB that highstorms, and thus Stormlight and Stormlight-based ecology, predate Shattering. If we assumed that before Honor's and Cultivation's arrival on Roshar the planet could be classified as a minor Shardworld, then "natural"/"minor" magic predates Shattering and thus Shards. But it was a neat idea.
  19. Heal Marsh, hurt Shallan. 1. Kaladin 74 HP 5. Shallan 24 HP 20. Marsh 27 HP
  20. Hurt Jasnah, heal Marsh. 1. Kaladin 56 HP 5. Shallan 28 HP 20. Marsh 14 HP 25. Jasnah 27 HP
  21. I love, love, love those black-and-white sketches. Elhokar scenes and Wit chatting with a cremling are so fitting to their personality (also Elhokar is my favourite character in SA, so I'm just gushing in general here). And those scenes in the camp interiors
  22. Adolin, I think. Inasmuch as I like Dalinar, he's somewhat... imposing, and a recovering drunk. If you were to gain the ability to use one Surge, would you prefer Abrasion or Gravitation?
  23. Heal Marsh, hurt Jasnah. We can't just leave this thread to the Stormlight Archive... 2. Kaladin 45 HP 5. Shallan 28 HP 20. Marsh 20 HP 25. Jasnah 32 HP
  24. The competition got kinda fierce here. Hurt Shallan, heal Marsh. 1.Kelsier 19 HP 2. Kaladin 30 HP 3. Vin 10 HP 5. Shallan 21 HP 20. Marsh 19 HP 25. Jasnah 26 HP
  25. Hurt Vin, it's canon! Also, heal Marsh. 1.Kelsier 20 HP 2. Kaladin 31 HP 3. Vin 9 HP 5. Shallan 21 HP 20. Marsh 19 HP 25. Jasnah 25 HP
