  1. Heal Surgbinding, hurt Feruchemy 2. Feruchemy- 147. Surgebinding- 3815. Rithmatics- 33 I feel like Rithmatics is largely being ignored at this point as Feruchemy and Surgebinding battle it out
  2. Hey there! What might be a good idea, if you haven't already is to watch some of the new and old BYU lectures on world building. Anyway, this is what I do to build up a world, and you might find it helpful. So, to me it looks like you've got the bare bones of a world, races and such. So, where I normally go from here is figuring out culture and history of the races. You can really choose any sort of element of the world you like, however, I generally find culture a good one to start with, as you can build so much around that, and it's quite broad. So, some questions to ask yourself might be: Do the races intermingle or are they very seperate? Are they nomadic, or do they settle down in cities (or are they somewhere inbetween)? Are there social groups within each race? Do they have a government? You can start with some of those basic questions, and then move out to other areas, such as religion, philosophy, types of sport ect. Also, environment is a something good to start with. Do the cliche thing. Draw a map. It doesn't really have to be well thought out, you can, if you want to, just draw some kind of squiggly circle and plonk some trees and mountains down. Of course, you can be more thought out about it than that. Working out the environment, or at least I have found, really helps me to imagine the races living there, I mean, living on marshland is somewhat different to living on snowing mountains. After you've figured this out, you can work out elements of the society around that environment. For example, does the race build up over the marsh, or do they just wade through it. If they're near the sea, do they fish, have boats and/or travel over the sea? If it would be helpful, if you decide to do this, I'm happy to ask some questions surrounding the type of environment and how it influences society. But, if you need help, Google is there to help, and you can probably find some sort of culture that has lived in that environment. If you need some examples of environment, you could look at: grasslands, snowy mountains, non-snowy mountains, desert, forest, frozen wasteland, marshland, plains, seaside and bushland. Of course there are more, but those might start you out if you want to use this method. These are the first steps that I take when building a world, and you can use them if you want to, but if they don't work for you, then that's fine. Also, if you want any help beyond this, just ask. Your friendly fellow human is here to help.

  5. Granted, but you can never touch chromium without it burning through your skin like acid (including when you've swallowed it) I wish for the book(s) of the Kingkiller Chronicles to come out on a yearly basis.

  12. Are magnificently, stupendously
  13. Yeah, but it seems that they would be very different from normal dragons, though we know very little. I think that if we did see elves or other creatures closely related, they would be vastly different. It's one thing calling something an elf compared with having a stereotypical elf (or other creature) of which I was referring to. Personally, I would prefer to have something less typical, but each to their own.
  14. My take on a HoA trailer, might be a bit short but, oh well. Why must there be so many plot lines? Why? Why? * Black screen. A lantern shines light onto the sheet of metal, words written into it Vin speaks the words on the metal, "I write these words in metal, for nothing not set on metal cannot be trusted." Music starts, slow and long notes as the image zooms out and reveals the stock pile. The music moves into a long crescendo, and Vin perches on top of a koloss blade, ash falling from the sky. She jumps down in a swirl, and lands on the ground, walking through a battlefield, human and koloss bodies lying on the ground. She walks up a hill and walks next to Elend who is looking out over the remaining koloss, in control of them. Vin stands next to him. The image changes and shows Elend in council with the crew and Vin. Breeze speaks, "We've got riots," the image flicks to scenes of Spook in Urteau, the city in flames, "natural disasters," an image of Marsh walking away from a volcano exploding, "mass famine," shots of Sazed walking into the hovel of a skaa hovel, "the mists are trying to kill us," shots of soldiers falling to the mist sickness in the mist. The picture reverts back to Breeze who sips his wine, "and if that wasn't enough, we've got an vengeful God looking to destroy us. The world, my friends, appears to be ending." He pauses, "This is an indisputably sad event." * Ten-Soon walks down, escorted in his dog form. "This is the end! You can't ignore this forever!" He gets thrown into the courtroom, and the camera pans around at the kandra surrounding him, then focuses in on the second generation kandra. The kandra speaks, "she is not our master. She is not the hero of ages. She, is a villain, and you along with her." * The image changes to a building in flames, then to Breeze talking with Sazed, talking over the yelling so of the crowd. "All right, does somebody want to speculate on how our team's spy ended up becoming a pseudo-religious vigilante freedom fighter?" The image flicks back to the burning building. The crowd starts chanting "The Survivor! The survivor! The Survivor!" * The shot changes to one of a black night, Vin falling through the mists. She pushes off the ground, and begins racing through the night in steelpushes. She stops, and stands on the ground, spinning around in the night, looking for something. "Who ware you?" She asks the darkness. The voice of Ruin speaks back to her, "I am mountains that crush. I am waves that crash. I am storms that shatter. I am the end." THE HERO OF AGES
  15. Hurt Feruchemy, heal Surgebinding 1. Allomancy- 7 2. Feruchemy- 22 3. Hemalurgy- 10 7. Surgebinding- 24 8. Forgery-7 15. Rithmatics- 15
  16. I personally think that a major reason may be Vin's almost paranoid behaviour and finally having some new friends. Even if we don't see a lot of her thought process about this, I personally think that there's a niggling fear that if she uses emotional allomancy on the crew, she'll loose the only friends she has. By testing them, she could think that it would ruin relations with them. I think that paired with the fact that she doesn't want to believe that somebody she loves is dead could be a part of the answer to the question.
  17. I would certainly say this is plausible given what we know, and it does seem to make sense (I actually really like this) But, in a theoretical situation, what if two people had had very similar motivations would there be two shards of, say, Ruin, then, would they do pretty much the same thing? We probably don't know enough to answer that, but it's worth thinking about in accordance to this
  18. A minor Highprince. There seems to be a much higher mortality rate as a Luthadel House Lord... I like life. would you rather be stuck in a room with Zane or Tarvangian?
  19. Here's my take on this. I may have borrowed some ideas from @Doctor12 so yeah.... Ta da! Silence, a clock ticking slowly in the background. Elend sitting in the assembly, getting nothing done. Breeze speaks, sarcastically, "you know? I almost thought killing the Lord Ruler was the easy part." Fades to black. Zane speaks over the black, shots of skaa peasants des rating statues of the Lord Ruler. "Everything you think you know, you don't. You've gotten rid of one God, but now another's come to take revenge." Shots of statues of Kelsier and The Church of the Survivor. From an image of Kelsier, Vin bursts through the mists, engaging in a fast chase sequence, following the mist figure. She looses it and stops, the music cuts out and you can hear Vin breathing heavily. Over the image of Vin, Tindwyl speaks, "you really do believe it, don't you. You really believe she is the hero of ages." Sazed replies, camera still on Vin, "We have nothing if not belief." Shots of the two armies appear on screen, Elend standing on the walls looking out at the armies, and looking suitably worried, Vin standing next to him, wearing her mistcloak. The camera pans over to the crew, also looking worried. The camera zooms in on the armies "What are we going to do, Elend" Vin asks "We're going to do what Kelsier taught us. We're going to survive."
  20. Draw Aons, at least you could use it as a light. With breaths I would have no idea how to use it, or when to use it... Would you rather not be able to read already published cosmere books, or not be able to read new cosmere books ever again?
  21. Granted, but you never have any motivation/inspiration to draw anything. I wish for infinite amounts of organisation skills.
  22. Granted, your bane is that you can never read anything ever again, and have no more contact with books/stories (that includes audiobooks and spoken stories). I wish to become a writer of excellent fantasy books.
  23. Hmm, spiked through the eyes, steel is cool, hopefully I would be able to get the right allomatic alloy though... Only be able to read Warbreaker or Elantris again (out of all Brandon Sanderson books)
  24. But he'll be writing in pen! I apologise for the terrible joke.... I'll just go now.... anyway, I found a few more good ones: I feel like that one kind of sums up a lot of Vin's arc, but I'm not sure.
