I actually like Cody, more than Megan personally, and actually I found Megan an ok character, but she definatly wasn't one of my favourites. Cody just added some much needed jokes and happiness when things were getting too dark.

On the subject of names, correct me if I'm wrong, but I read somewhere that Kelsier should theoretically be pronounced Kel-see-eh instead of Kel-see-er, and that's just weird, so I promptly ignore it. Also, I originally read Jasnah with a J sound, but now I think the Y sound on the J sounds better. I've listened to the audiobooks a few times and just....the names....they're weird.... How are you supposed to say it? I say Ro-shar (sorry, I'm horrible at phonetics but Ro (as in row) and Shar as in Charlotte). Who knows if that's right or not, but it's right to me! also, for me, spheres are not round, but have pointed spikes coming out from all over, kind of like a star shape...weird right, for something called a sphere

Personally I think that this is quite unlikely. Why kidnap Steris when I'm sure there are easier ways to make contact. By doing this, it would only raise Wax's drive to oppose them, and it rids them of a spy during AoL. Also, with her being strange during a gunfight, she has been protected from that sort of thing for much of her life, and isn't really much of a fighter anyway. Steris is a planner, and I find that her actions would be perfectly normal. Plus, surely, it would be less productive to put on a show of naivity, rather than work in the field, probably gaining less information. As well as that, her naivity does seem real, and I would say it isn't an act So, overall, I'd find it quite unlikely, and I wouldn't feel that it would fit with what we have seen of her.

On this subject, I am firmly with Kaladin/Shallan. I found that at this point, we have seen Kaladin go from hating Shallan, to something, not quite love, but an acceptance of her. I think that from what we've seen, when they first met, Kaladin hated her because his perceived ideal of her, based on her status as a light eyes. However, after the time spent in the chasms, he sees her as a person, and I think that seeing that light eyes suffer too could be very significant in his character growth, particularly if he becomes a more prominent political figure (what with being KR). I think that a relationship between Shallan and Kaladi would be beneficial on a character level to them both, Shallan increasing Kaladin's awareness of others, and Kaladin grounding Shallan a bit more. Plus, I love the symbolism surronding them. Them being opposites.... Also, on Jasnah and Kaladin, I can't see that as working very well. I think it would be very hard for Kaladin and Jasnah to connect (particularly surronding Jasnah's somewhat questionably moral actions). Friends? Perhaps, but anything more, I can't really see as becoming a thing. Anyway, just my opinion contradict it and tear it apart as much as you want

I think that although Vin has had a large amount of influence in structuring the society, especially for women, I think that there's still a lot of culture left over from the days of the empire. Culture doesn't just change overnight, and while Vin did seem to open opportunity for women, society does not change overnight. We don't really know a whole heap on what happens inbetween era 1 and era 2, but key players in the political and social landscape can very much influence the role of women. So, overall, I don't think it's that strange that the role is different, especially as Vin wasn't around for the next era, not even the start of it.
