  1. I don´t think Jasnah is a Mary Sue. But what I think @goody153 means (and I´m guessing here), is that Jasnah appears to have a lot of strenghts, and not that many weaknesses, at least not weaknesses that affects her or the story in huge ways (yet). She is incredibly powerful, and knows how to use her powers better than most other Radiants we have (Szeth is probably more skilled than her because of Honorblade-training, and Kaladin might be on her level as well). She is incredibly intelligent, and seems to be the person a lot of people turn to for advice all the time. She is great at debating, great at commanding, and is now given the position of queen because Adolin decided he didn´t want the throne. She can go about lecturing or insulting most people, and gets away with it. She is most often praised by the other main characters (except for Shallan and Kaladin) for being amazing. Yes, she does have a weakness in that she is pretty cold, and not great at interacting with people, but we never see those weaknesses impact her in any major way. I am frustrated by this sometimes, and I think it is why some people might want to call her a Mary Sue, even if she isn´t one.
  2. I can see that point. I’m not sure that it would be as huge of a cliffhanger as you imagine, but I do see the problem of waiting minimum of five years for the continuation. I doubt Brandon won’t leave threads hanging though.
  3. @RShara I realize my latest post might have sounded kinda stupid. Let me rephrase it: The fact that Brandon says that it ”can be considered” two series ”if you prefer” implies that it is also possible to consider it one series. Otherwise he would have stated plain and simple that it is two different series, not that it can be considered such if you want to.
  4. Ant-Man and the Wasp
  5. He says that it might be seen as two series. That means that it can be seen as one series as well.
  6. First off, I think Marvel can sell movies based on the Marvel brand and the characters. They don’t need cliffhangers to get people to see the movies. And I agree that a new Oathpact would be a terrible ending to the series. SA5 won’t really be an end to a series though, it’s more like a mid-season break. I feel it could work fine with the proper foreshadowing. Depending on how he writes it, it might not even be a cliffhanger.
  7. My clock goes six hours before the US, so that might be why I see so many of them.
  8. What does your height have to do with the morality of the Radiants? Nah, just kidding, but you have yourself a fun spelling error here.
  9. I can see the appeal of the story suggested by the OP. I just don´t think it would be right for Stormlight. Sandersons books generally don´t go that dark, and that is one of the many things that a lot of the fandom appreciates, I think. I think the plotline you describe is interesting, but maybe not suited for Sandersons books. Have an upvote, and welcome to the forums!
  10. Apparently Brandon startaed a charity of some kind. It is mentioned in the latest blog post on his site. But I didn´t find any explanation as to what exactly it does. Anyone able to help? What is Lightweaver Foundation?
  11. I can see it being an ending to the first src. It would work a little like Avengers: Infinity War where (SPOILER): The ending to that movie might be my favorite movie ending ever. It was incredibly effectful. I wouldn’t say no to something similar from SA. Then, of course, the Oathpact is useless nowadays, so it will be pointless unless the Everstorm is stopped somehow, which may or may not be possible. If it is, I can see that being the ending to book 5. The KR win by stopping the Everstorm, but lose in that they still haven’t bested Odium, and thus need Heralds. It would be a badass ending if ten people, a mix of old and new Heralds, swore an oath, and died for Roshar.
  12. Amaram also fits the Cryptic. As for Lift and Venli for Bondsmiths, I disagree. Lift is plain wrong, and Venli is basically a Willshaper, and I doubt she will bond two spren. Rlain is more likely in that case.
  13. Mr T, Rock and Rlain could fight over it. I really like Rock though. He feels like a very different, yet fitting, Bondsmith. It would be fun if Gawx became one.
  14. Breeze is Eddie Izzard.
  15. I doubt that Kelsier is the Ghostblood leader. It just feels wrong to me. And also, I doubt that the Ghostbloods are good guys. See Mraizes conversation with Shallan when they are at Ialais meeting with Adolin. He says something along the lines of wanting to have an even conflict between Odium and the KR, so that he can grab power.
  16. Could you perhaps elaborate on why you feel that Odium is looking for something? And if he is, I would guess it is the Dawnshards. We still don’t know what those are. And as for where it is... Aimia. The Aimians are hiding something. We understood that much from the Kaza Interlude.
  17. Star Wars: The Last Jedi (spoilers):
  18. She was the opposite for me. I liked her in the beginning, and then I grew more uninterested in her. Luckily, Vivenna became more awesome, so everything worked well anyways.
  19. This is my new headcanon. Thank you. For me... I used to think of Breeze as very thin, as opposed to being portly. I generally thought of Vin as having longer hair than she has on most artwork. Also, Mr T has a long wispy beard in my head. I don´t remember if that is the case in the books.
  20. This might be a part of it, but I doubt its their endgame. They seemed to be going after Sja-Anat more because she seemed willing to defect.
  21. Blade Runner: Blade Runner 2049 (this contains spoilers for the actual movie):
  22. Szeth and Nale are being built up as adversaries. They are both Skybreakers, but on different sides. As many people have said before me, they will most likely come to blows some time during the series. And when they do, I think Szeth will use Nightblood to kill Nale. First off, both of them should have two Shardblades each. Nale has his honorblade, and his Radiant Blade. Szeth will have his Radiant Blade, and Nightblood. Nightblood, which was given to him by Nale. Wouldn´t it be ironic if that gift ended up killing Nale? Furthermore, Nightblood talks about how he never liked Nale in the first place. More foreshadowing, perhaps?
  23. I just hope that the Ghostbloods won´t go the Diagram and Amaram route of joining Odium down the line. I like to have an unpredictable third party playing both sides. I would guess that their purpose is power in some form, be it through gathering investiture from different planets, getting their own Shard, etc. Then of course, there might be a deeper reason for them to exist. They might need the power to accomplish some kind of goal. And as to that goal, we have no clue.
  24. A lot of people complain about this but I think it makes sense. He is used to be able to trick people and stab them (see Thors story in Ragnarok about how he turned himself into a snake and stabbed Thor when they were ten). And also, he was desperate. Could he have ruined Thanos plans by betraying him at a later date and kill the Black Order? Probably, but it wouldn’t have stopped Thanos in the end. Killing him would have.
