@Pathfinder @Shard of Thought There is a difference between leading and ruling. Kelsier is so great at leading because he can inspire people to be better, and do things they never would. He makes them feel safe, he makes them trust each other, he basically makes them better people. That is leading. Governing is something else, and there Kelsier wouldn’t be very good, I agree. But if you are going to be leading a group of people, I would argue that Kelsier is the best one there is, simply for his ability to trust, to make good calls, to protect his followers, see their strenghts and make them trust eachother.

The new Battlefront games are awesome. -
I do think that one of Kelsiers strenghts as a leader is a willingness to trust people, and find the right people. Those people deal with the problems he isn’t interested in. Dockson for example, did tons of work that didn’t interest Kelsier, and he did that very well, and Kelsier trusted him with it. Compare this to Dalinar for example, who has a hard time giving responsibility to people, or Kaladin, who would worry that he can’t be there for all his followers. Kelsiers ability to trust others and distribute work covers his own shortcomings rather well.

Entertainment Reviews(and Debate)
Toaster Retribution replied to Modal Seoul's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Oh, I love top tens. My top ten movies of 2018: 10. Crimes of Grindelwald I kinda liked this pretty much, even though it had issues. Dumbledore was brilliant. 9. Ant-Man and the Wasp I loved this at first, but it has kinda dropped a little because I saw it three times in quick succession. Still a hilarious movie. 8. Black Panther A great movie, with a phenomenal villain and a complex story. Third act could be better though. 7.Deadpool 2 The first DP is average at best in my opinion, but this one is better. A stronger story, stronger characters, funnier and better action. Really enjoyed it. 6. Aquaman I could see myself moving this to 8 after a rewatch, but I place it here now based on some really cool action, likeable characters, an interesting villain, worldbuilding and pure fun. Aquaman is exactly what it wants to be, which is great. 5. Solo: A Star Wars Story When I first saw it, I thought it was good but not great, but my opinion has really changed. It is a fun space adventure in the vein of the originals, while still being its own thing. Sure, it plays safe, but it is still a great movie. Beckett, Nest and Dryden were really cool as well, and the relationship between Han and Q’ira was interesting. 4. Ready Player One This was really fun as well, with a cool message about gaming industry and nerd culture in general. Some of the action scenes were spectacular, and I really liked Art3mis. Mark Rylance gave a great performance as well. 3. Mortal Engines The movie no one saw for some reason. I loved this. I loved the worldbuilding, I loved the visuals, I found the story engaging, and the relationship between Hester and Shrike is one of my favorite character relationships in a long time. The opening chase scene might be the best chase scene I have seen ever, in anything, and Hugo Weavings performance was very good. 2. Mission Impossible: Fallout A brilliant action movie, from start to finish. Great performances from everyone (Henry Cavill was the standout) and epic stuntwork. The bathroom fight is nuts. And it also features a glorious moustache. 1. Avengers: Infinity War It couldn’t really be anything else. This movie really plays with the usual storytelling formulas of superhero movies, it twists it around in great ways, and delivers a stupid good ending, that impacted tons and tons of people. It is incredibly well-made in every way, and manages to be very funny, and very serious, at the same time. A lot of the moments and lines in this movie will be iconic. It also ties stuff together surprisingly well, and delivers a great villain in Thanos. -

I see your points. Tricking isn’t leading, but Kelsier can trick the enemy. And he would have dealt with the armies by simply assassinating the leaders and create infighting between the generals. The one thing he couldn’t feasibly have done in that situation is take out the koloss, but that was never about leadership. I kinda disagree here. Jasnah is good at getting people to do stuff, but that isn’t leading. You need social abilities to lead, and Jasnah isn’t really inspiring or socially skilled in that way. I think we will see flaws in her leadership in SA4.

I vote for Kelsier. Partially because I love the guy, and partially because he is able to inspire or trick people into doing basically anything. He is also prepared to go very far to aid his followers, and is a brilliant strategist. He is also competent enough to deal with basically any threat. Raoden is brilliant as well, however. And while I don’t think they are the best, Hrathen and Gavilar certainly deserves to be mentioned.

They attempted to find out how to make fishsticks, and failed. Seriously though, I suspect that they might have acted as a police force, keeping Roshar in unity and helping out where needed. Many were probably scholars as well.

@ILuvHats Heh, I am surprised that you are 19 as well. Your hat made me think you were older, for some reason... no idea why :-) But there are people with a lot of posts who are young. I know that both Kidpen and Steeldancer are younger than you and me, for example.

19. Started when I was 16 or 17.

I have suspected Nale for a while, and then Szeth will destroy him with Nightblood. I doubt it will be Moash though.

We need a planet for my hemalurgic beaver as well. But the Cosmere is filled with space, so that could probably be solved.
-
It is better than not getting it finished at all. Personally, it worries me sometimes. The amount of Cosmere he has to get out along with other non-Cosmere stuff... but he should be okay. We have no way to predict the future, and to quote Newt Scamander, another great nerd: ”Worry means you suffer twice.”

Moash & Kaladin: two different paths?
Toaster Retribution replied to Benedictify's topic in Stormlight Archive
Possible. There are different kinds of foils though. The Dalinar/Amaram and Kaladin/Moash has one protagonist and one antagonist, so if we are having similar stuff to that, then we might see Jasnah/Mraize or something of that sort. Or Renarin and Jasnah might end up mirroring each other perfectly, who knows?- 17 replies

He wanted to try for himself, but bring Kaladin in case he failed. He didn’t have any intention to die, especially not with his son in his arms.
