Quick Fix Game 23: You don't want to Play this Game.
queensteph replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
From the rules: Librarians: These players have Librarian training, and can detect other players with Librarian training. There are Hushlanders without this ability, and there are Freeworlders with this ability. This is not an alignment scanner. I feel like by him clarifying that it's not an alignment scanner. That it is indeed a scanner. Plus where would be the fun in just knowing all the librarians? It'd be more fun to find out on your own I'd think.- 395 replies

Quick Fix Game 23: You don't want to Play this Game.

I think hero meant this, because it looks like it could mean that you are a librarian. Herowannabe It's not a lot to go off of, especially since we have JUST stated that all of the librarians could be village. so why vote for him, just because you believe he revealed he's a librarian? Edit ninja'd by hero oh well When proposing theories it's good to base them off of no personal experiences, which I believe is what Drought did here. So that you don't know whether he really is a librarian or not. Either way, weird that you voted on him just for that reason.- 395 replies

Quick Fix Game 23: You don't want to Play this Game.

If I'm not mistaken, the librarians could literally all be good. Although I think that would kinda defeat the purpose of Joe putting them in the game and I'm pretty positive he'd make at least one of them evil since he said he was looking forward to Librarian Hushlanders shenanigans. But it could be a possibility still. We can't rely on knowledge of who is and who isn't a librarian too much. Just my thoughts on it. Edit: @DroughtBringer I believe Elbereth was dealing with finals and said she'd be active after today.- 395 replies

Ok, well if someone has PM spying I'd suggest they spy on that same PM so that they can see who else was involved. @Paranoid King could you set it up with whoever it was that found out in the first place so that they can have a PM spy gain more info?
-
I thought of this last turn but forgot about it and now I'm going to bring it up, If someone spied on Aonar's PM and saw that they had the elim doc, then wouldn't they also know another person that was an eliminator? Like, the sender/receiver of the doc? Or is that not how PM spying works?

Under Smedry talents: Only one of each Smedry exists at the beginning of the game, but they can propose to a player, and if that player accepts, the other player will receive an identical copy of the talent. Divorce and Polygamy are illegal.- 395 replies

Quick Fix Game 23: You don't want to Play this Game.
queensteph replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Alex sat quietly in the corner of the library accessing their free wifi(the one good thing about libraries) on her laptop, trying to block out the world around her in order to get her homework done. If only it was as simple as blocking someone online, she thought to herself as she looked around her, paranoid that some weird bookworm would be silently judging her for disliking books (but how could they possibly know she hated books, oh well, paranoia is weird like that) Some movement at the top of a shelf caught her eye, Wait, what the heck? Is that a.......a squirrel? she shrugged, oh well it's not hurting anything (or so she thought, she didn't know about the spider it had just killed). She thought about reporting it, but couldn't be bothered to talk to a librarian. Every time she'd spoken to one it was always "You should read this, You should read that, Do you ever put that computer down?, Kids today don't appreciate literature." Ug, ADULTS today don't appreciate technological advances......Ok seriously she was sidetracked again. She had just gained control over her thoughts when a Micropachycephalosaurus....... broke the door and was now trying to eat someone?! Seriously today was weird and it wasn't her fault. Aren't Micropachy's herbivore's?? She couldn't remember, she had fallen asleep in that class. Oh well, if he was eating someone he wouldn't be hungry for a long while so there was no reason for her to leave. Back to work. How do we justify D1 lynches in a QF? Basically you can vote on anyone randomly and it doesn't matter? How scary.- 395 replies

@little wilson I definitely don't mind how you play and you have every right for your own strategy! I just was wondering if you had a special reason to do it that WOULD benefit the village, that was what I meant by I didn't see how it benefitted. I was only asking to see if you had a reason (as a villager or skindancer) or if you were just doing it because you wanted to. Sorry if it offended you. Only replying because I saw Wilson replied to my question, I don't have time to read the the rest of everyone's posts because some stuff came up and I won't be around during rollover. See you guys next turn!
-
Aonar Aonar. So are we just going to expell him for now and then let someone kill him or? Also a question, if all skindancers ended up in the crockery would the students win? @BrightnessRadiant your theory could be correct, but after knowing that the skindancers were picked randomly, your analysis still seems a bit too much based on their ranks. I only ever was really suspicious of Burnt because of her rank, but now because we know it's random I don't really have much else to be suspicious of. Buying a Gram doesn't seem that weird especially because it can't be destroyed and if you're paranoid and can afford it then why not? I have been suspicious of Wilson but that may just be because she's been suspicious of me quite a bit throughout the game and that always makes me question people, probably the only real reason is that I don't really see how staying in Imre the whole time will benefit us that much. @little wilson mind if I ask why you've chosen to stay in Imre?

I'm confused @Paranoid King, what exactly does them "being quite clear" even mean? Did they actually have proof that Aonar was a skindancer? Or just a theory. I don't understand how you can be so certain, but I'd be glad to hear an explanation since I do believe you to be village.
-
I've been on the horns 3 TIMES NOW. Do I classify as one of the baddies at University now? I'm super glad last turn wasn't the end of the month because I totally forgot to put in my actions. Could've been me on the streets.
-
@Alvron Do you have a reason for voting on me? I thought you just were voting on me to get me to be active.
-
Ok my action did go through and I was informed of Arinian's field/ability. I don't really think that's fair. I can't quote GM PMs so yeah sure I could be lying but what would be the point in all of my posts this cycle? I'm not that dumb. I'm the one that takes a loss here from revealing my ability from a mistake that wasn't my own. You're free from my accusational theories since I was informed it was false, so I feel like you should be inclined to believe me?
-
@BrightnessRadiant idk I'm awaiting the GM PM. I'll update the thread when I'm informed of whether it went through or if I was blocked. since everyone knows what power I have now anyways I don't see how it matters.
-
@little wilson ya i literally admitted that i didn't think it made sense i just wanted to get my current theories out there for people to analyze also since i suck at analyzing. It was 4:30AM and i hadn't slept so I thought I might just be missing something and wanted people's input. My whole case literally is now useless though because I was just informed by the GMs that it was a mistake and that I was actually still supposed to scan Arinian. so yeah. no manipulation. forget i said anything. Edit: idk if Joe is evil or not but to add to your "Joe isn't trying to trust anyone" He PM'd me on T2M1 when votes were gathering on me and asked me if there was anything I could provide to make him trust me. When he messaged I hadn't posted yet but I didn't see his message until after I had defended myself in thread. So I just told him I posted my defenses and that if he needed anything else to just ask. But he never replied so I guess my post was good enough for him.
-
Randuir is the only one who knew of my ability so it's possible that they spied on his PMs with me and therefore targeted me? I told him my ability because I trusted him more than the others and I knew what PK was studying. Since he was in the Crockery already I didn't feel bad for revealing his field. But now that he's escaped I'm sorry PK because now if the Skindancers did read my PM (also, assuming you are not a skindancer) then they know your field. I thought it's be best to warn you. Okay nevermind it probably doesn't matter. I just looked at the rules again and it says it takes away a random power from you though, and you've only been elevated once so I guess you don't have a power anymore. I still don't like revealing peoples field tho so my apology stands. I don't really know what a students motives would be for roleblocking me because so far no one has really stated being very suspicious of me, which is why I'm inclined to believe it was a skindancer.
-
@Alvron hey I thought we were becoming friends sorry for not being active today guys, I was busy and also exhausted. anyways i need to sleep but i scanned over all the posts and i DO have something to add. I'm pretty sure Arinian is a skindancer if my theory is correct. Last turn I put in a request to research (gasp, FIELD REVEAL IN THREAD?!?) Arinian, but then it ended up making me research Randuir. So my theory is that Arinian is studying Rhetoric and Logic and a Elim buddy bought the Assassin and used it on Arinian Because if Arinian has Law of Contraposition: Redirect a targeted action of another player to another player of your choice. Then he could just redirect it onto Randuir and they'd still get a kill without it being a sabatoge and being able to be traced back to them. (I'm like asleep rn I hope this makes sense.) But idk I don't think that makes sense as to why my action was switched. Ok but maybe actually he actually studied Sympathy??? and used Malfeasance: Create a binding between you and another student. All actions that happen to you also affect the person you’re bound to. Upgrade: Your bind can affect two other students. Because if he binded with Randuir and then they used the Assassin on him, but he was prepared and protected by someone(?) but Rand wasn't protected so it succeeded in killing him. Idk I'm just trying to think of why my research on Arinian ended up researching Randuir (which I then didn't get any info on Randuir's field bc he died RIP friend). Either this or he is studying Naming possibly ? (idk what all the naming things do off the top of my head so if someone wants to add to that theory then please do) Honestly I'm so tired this might not make actually make any sense. But hopefully it's useful. Okay sleep for me finally.

I wasn't necessarily defending him so much as I was trying to understand why everyone is so suspicious of him. If you read my post through you would see that I agreed it was suspicious, just not suspicious enough to warrant so many votes. I also said the same thing as you in that it wasn't the correct way to go about asking people for their information, so I'm guessing you forgot I said that. This is my opinion and I was trying to see things from his point of view so that I wouldn't just vote on him blindly. Plus I was thinking you only need 11 votes to be expelled when in reality it's 11DP, so my bad there. It just seemed like too many people were voting for him over one reason, wanting info. Which we all should want, students and skindancers alike try to gain as much info as they can in order to help their team win. So while sure, it didn't seem very sportsmanlike, it also didn't seem like enough to condemn him as a skindancer. I was merely trying to get perspective.

Vote Tally: Drake(1): STINK Stick(1): STINK Alvron(2): Arinian*2 Stink(1): Drake Arinian(8): Cluny, Jondesu, HH, Alvron*2, Straw*2, Orlok Straw(3): Joe In The Bush, Orlok, Steph Orlok(1): Sart Wilson(1): Sart Sart(1): Wilson I was just going to add this to my previous post, but Sart and Wilson both posted as I was making it. So it's updated now.
-
(Edit :Boldness mine) I'm gonna have to trademark that (totes jk) I don't get the whole bandwagon thing on Arinian, although I do think it wasn't the best way to ask someone what they're studying (since it should be the students decision on whether to share their info and to whom), I don't see why it's making everyone seem butthurt. Not enough to warrant 8(?) votes on him. To me it just seems like he was tired of feeling like he's in the dark (although we all basically are since it's only M2). Everyone at least kindof gave a reason for their vote though, except for Straw. Until Orlok placed a vote on him and even then to me Arinian didn't really seem to be "trying to get info on elevations" per say, more like he just wanted information of any kind to help along his analysis. It could be seen as suspicious, I have to agree, but not so suspicious where almost every active player votes on him. I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts more on why they chose to cast a complaint on Ari. Edit: I'll try to get another RP up before the turn is over!

btw @STINK what happened to Stink 19 hours ago: "Yeah, don't say what field you're being elevated in / what EP you're doing. That's a bad idea." not like it was a secret tho since you've said it multiple times that you're going into Linguistics. I guess Linguists do like to talk.
