  1. How would you phrase the Command? Or more accurately, how would you picture the Command happening in your head?
  2. What do you plan on asking?
  3. For convenience's sake, I'm assuming if there are enough minds around calling a particular spot home and speaking a given language, then Connection would make you speak that language as they spoke it. So speaking English to the Romans would return Latin, while speaking Latin to the Romans would result in Modern Welsh.
  4. I'm wondering what could have called his attention away from Scadrial? Spring Cleaning his hideout?
  5. I personally suspect that they are the Hoed who got dumped into the shardpool, but they are very clearly Elantrians of some description.
  6. shshshsh doesn't count! That's a placeholder name!
  7. Silence, Steris, Sarene, Syl, Siri... any others?
  8. Good find. I for one had completely forgotten that line.
  9. Where would you categorize the capacity to interact with worlds independently of its host?
  10. The First Generation of kandra had souls at the beginning of the process, spikes need some spiritual matter to hang onto in the first place, or they just become mundane piercings (albeit rather hardcore ones), and Paalm specifically asked Harmony to look after Wax after she died. They have souls.
  11. Hoid and the lerasium bead is in the annotations for Well of Ascension, I think. He may have told us before then, but I don't recall whether he did.
  12. You get used to that. It's probably someone responding to your introductory thread; people here are nice enough to respond to those with an upvote or two.
  13. I actually changed my vote from Roshar/Scadrial to Nalthis/Scadrial for one specific fact: A good Soother would be able to collect Breath like nobody's business, meaning they'd rocket through the Heightenings.
  14. I think the evidence points to Iyatil either being a descendant of SoScad refugees, or directly from South Scadrial herself. Specifically, of the Hunter clan that Allik mentioned.
  15. It's a single burst. Wax wasn't tapping or storing his metalminds at the time - although I would have been interested to see what would happen to a metalmind's reserve if they're being charged when a Chromium blast goes off. I forget whether Wax was doing the "lines of steel" thing, because if he was, the chromium might have used that as a foothold.
  16. When it comes to Kell and anyone associated with the nobility of the Final Empire? He enjoys it (or at least he did when he was alive). He loves the rush that killing them causes. It fuels his sense of justice, and confirming to himself that he can still take out a gang of trained bodyguards with nothing but a brick doesn't hurt the "job well done" feeling.
  17. For Surgebinders it's sort of off because the definition of honorable fluctuates somewhat depending on what Oaths you've taken. But for the oathless Orders like Lightweavers it's a definition heavily based on the powers of inspiration and legacy.
  18. LON is Heathrow, GTK is Gatwick, NRK is Newark, CHI is Ohare, ITA is Venice, VNA is Vienna? Still haven't looked those up.
  19. HRW- London Heathrow LON - Gatwick JFK- JFK International NWK- Newark OHR- OHare International CDG - Charles de Gaulle (Paris) SIN - Singapore TYO - Tokyo LAX - Los Angeles IND - Indiana International Airport FLO - Orlando, Florida ATL - Atlanta VEN - Venice ROM - Rome HEL - Helsinki MCH - Munich SFO - San Francisco. ZCH - Zurich GEN - Geneva AUS - Vienna SYD - Sydney WLIU, name as many magic systems as you can and describe their unique feature in 5 words or less, e.g.: Hemalurgy: Stealing Powers By Stabbing People
  20. I thought it was more like "any given Metalborn is one in a thousand." It might still amount to 16% of the population, but given that you have Mistings, Ferrings, and Twinborn all competing for the same space, there's still some dilution taking place.
  21. Logistics-wise it might make more sense if he got that powder from Scadrial, though. Especially if he wanted to keep a low profile when not in costume as Wit. Asking a blacksmith to grind up some metal is conspicuously odd, as is hiring a Soulcaster, but I suppose he could always steal one.
  22. We've seen several things that it could be, and I've seen a lot of theories regarding these strange talking metal objects. Possibility 1: Sprentools. Possibility 2: Type 4 BioChromatic Entities a la Nightblood. Possibility 3: Things serving as impromptu antennae for Set or SoScad radio. (Yes, it can happen with RL radios)
  23. Roshar hell, I believe. I don't believe the Cosmere has a hell, per se.
  24. Only two perpendicularities on Scadrial; Preservation's Shardpool (The Well of Ascension, where Kelsier was trapped) and Ruin's (the Pits of Hathsin). Kel destroyed the Pits, so therefore Hoid's only alternative is the Well of Ascension. Which naturally happens to be inside the most heavily guarded spot in all the Final Empire. One can understand Hoid's annoyance.
  25. That was Devotion's shardpool, I thought. The same one overlooking Elantris that Raoden and co. used.
