  1. Yep.
  2. I think the plan is for Shadows of Self to be spring 2015.
  3. Keep in mind that Ruin was guiding that particular spiking, so it isn't exactly "random". I'm with Shardlet though, I don't think each bindpoint is limited to a single power. In fact it goes against what we have to say that they are, according to the chart on the wiki the heart is a bindpoint for two different powers (at least).
  4. Ah thanks, I thought I remembered it being asked but then I neglected to double-check... Oh well. (although it might be worth another chance? He didn't actually say "RAFO")
  5. How does the "direct fueling" of hemalurgy work? Is Ralkalest a metal someone from Earth would recognize? What color is it? What kind of metal is Wax's earring made of?
  6. The only real thing we have concerning the corruption of spren is this, from the Dalinar Purelake Vision Reading: I am of the opinion that Ja-ana is one of the Unmade, Odium's counterparts to the Heralds. This certainly indicates however that "writing" is not involved in the process of corruption.
  7. Okay this kind of draws on a vague recollection of a WoB that I'm have trouble finding, but chasmfiends don't "turn into anything" while pupating, except becoming a bigger chasmfiend. The one that shows up during the hunt where Elhokar's saddle snaps is one that has pupated, it is in the "final stage". As for them being powered by stormlight? I'd say it is complicated. They do have a symbiotic bond with a kind spren which is what allows them to grow to such sizes and there is some evidence that spren require stormlight to manifest (they don't appear in Shinovar where the highstorms and there stormlight don't reach). We know that the gemhearts form as a result of a leak of the Spiritual into the Physical Realm (in the same way that atium is produced). I definitely wouldn't call them fabrials though. I'd actually recommend the main Cryptic article over the brief summary they have on the main spren page.
  8. That is a theory that has been brought up before, unfortunately it can be pretty definitively disproved. The Reod occurred centuries after the Shards were Splintered. There were no Seons when Odium was on Sel killing and Splintering Devotion and Dominion. That isn't to say the two events are not related. There is a theory that the Chasm formed do to a build up of spiritual energy that is a direct consequence of large amounts of shardic energy being uncontrolled.
  9. Actually, no, larkin are from Aimia, they were said to have gone extinct during the Scouring. How one ended up with the Tai-na is unknown but they are not "from" the Reshi Sea. The creatures on the Surgebinding chart are larkin.
  10. Cryptics are spren. It is also important to realize that "Cryptics" is what they call themselves, so it makes sense that it wouldn't necessarily match the naming convention of other kinds of spren.
  11. Okay, here goes: Painting teacher
  12. Trent Saxon
  13. There have been a couple theories that he is either the Herald Ishar or the Herald Jezrien. However we do not know if there is, indeed, anything special about him. First off, Shalash is female. Anyway the statue was presumably removed do to it being defaced by Baxil's Mistress. It has been theorized, and practically confirmed, that she is actually Shalash who is traveling Roshar destroying/defacing depictions of herself, often by gouging on their eyes. I do not believe it is a reference to Scadrial. I am of the opinion that it refers to the Cognitive Realm/Shadesmar since it matches the descriptions we have of it. The person "with his head of lines" most likely refers to a Cryptic, a type of spren that resides there that appear in Shallan's drawings.
  14. Actually it looks like it will be in the latter five since Eshonai will probably be four. But yah, I would like viewpoints from him but I just don't think we will get much of them anytime soon.
  15. Here is how it looks like in the book if you open just the cover. (sorry for the blurry/darkness) I'm actually pretty skeptical about that because it shouldn't be a perfect mirror. Space works differently in the Cognitive Realm, space in the Physical Realm where there is a ton of cognitive activity gets expanded while space where there is little cognitive activity shrinks. I'm of the opinion that is an artist's interpretation of a Shadesmar map and not an accurate depiction of it.
  16. Yah, that is one of the endpages? It is on the opposite page from the Surgebinding chart so that is why they Heralds are flipped, they are mirrored positions. (i.e. Jezrien is in the upper left on the left page and upper right on the right page, etc.) Edit: Ninja'd by Aether...
  17. Cymatics are most definitely a real thing on Earth.
  18. The plan (unless it has changed) is for him to have a focus book (see here and here). But if I remember correctly he will only have an interlude this book.
  19. I remember reading somewhere that the interlude through line was going to be Eshonai. (I'll try and fit it) Edit: I think this is it, Peter mentions Eshonai's interludes.
  20. Just a friendly reminder that we do not know Endowment's gender.
  21. Here are some more questions: What is the likelihood that we will see the shardworlds explored in Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell and Sixth of the Dusk beyond those two stories? What is up with Aon Ien meaning "Wisdom" but being used for Healing in AonDor? Will you ever do more "in-depth" Aon descriptions like you have done for Aon Ehe, Aon Ene, and Aon Omi? Can non-humans be surgebinders?
  22. Order 9/Stonewards
  23. The location of Bondsmiths was not Confirmed and "Surface Tension" was corrected by Peter to be 9/10
  24. Actually we don't know Order 5/Palah either. Of course I highly doubt they would be the Bondsmiths, since it doesn't fit the surges of Growth/Illumination. Personally I'm leaning towards Order 8/Kalak but I'm not convinced either way.
