  1. I forgot about that! It should work with any investiture I would imagine, so breaths included.
  2. If so the 16th heightening would logically make you the holder of Endowment. Would this mean that Endowment's holder isn't at the 16th heightening anymore since they give away a breath to every person + returned breaths? If that actually works with breaths could one do a similar thing with stormlight? Absorb enough stormlight you become a shardholder?
  3. It looks like a lobster. Aimia is a claw. The Iri islands are antennae. Frostlands are the tail. Goes with the whole crustacean theme of the indigenous life.
  4. I saw someone else theorize that Cusicesh was bonded to a Bondsmith at the Recreance and he is reliving that day every day. If you believe Nightwatcher/Stormfather/Cusicesh are the three spren of the Bondsmith order than there is a good chance that "he" refers to Cusicesh instead of Tavanast.
  5. I think it is entirely how Kaladin perceives himself. I wonder what would happen if Kaladin became convinced he was a stick while holding stormlight.
  6. What if you believe a week last 1000 days?
  7. Plus that whole "Place closest to Honor" bit
  8. With regards to multiple shardpools I think there are probably 10, and therefore 10 peaks upon which Horneaters live.
  9. My initial assumption was that Shallan's mother thought she was a voidbinder.
  10. unlikely it can lead to legal issues if someone suggests something he was going to write, as that person can claim he stole the idea and cause no end of trouble if he doesn't read 17th shard that can't happen an episode of Babylon 5 had to be shelved for this reason (until the fan who suggested the plot signed a release)
  11. I wasn't hyped for AMoL at all. I was just glad it was over (and brandon would get back to writing the BoEP )
  12. I am enlightened, thank you. That makes a lot of sense.
  13. Zomg!Void Martians! Except we're on Roshar... I didn't get the sense their population was stable either.
  14. RAFO I believe it was only said they would retrieve the blade, whatever that means.
  15. Lopen has the honorblade!!!??? It just popped into my head driving along. I think I'm thinking about WoR too much. I don't see Szeth dying but I totally see Kaladin defeating him and giving the blade to one of his men.
  16. That would be my guess.
  17. I don't have the quotes in front of me, but Dalinar's chances of succeeding on his own don't look too good right now. I also wouldn't put it past Taravangian to lie to his assassin.
  18. I'd go so far that he is allied with Taravangian and is complicit in the attempt on Dalinar's life as well. Think about it. Why is Taravangian having Dalinar assassinated? I always accepted it was because Dalinar was uniting Alethkar under strong leadership and that would prevent Taravangian from picking up the pieces when the desolation arrived. But given what we've seen so far Dalinar isn't having much luck and looks set to fail. It never quite made sense to me how Taravangian would pick up the pieces either. Elhokar is in a much better position to do this. He is already the ruler of one Vorin kingdom, bringing Jah Keved under his domain would seem rather easy. That's already most of the military might on Roshar and the other kingdoms would naturally flock to a strong leader in the event of a desolation. So my, crazy, theory is that Taravangian is having Dalinar assassinated because he is weaking Taravangian's ally Elhokar.
  19. Or there is something in her bond that makes her vulnerable: Kaladin's hatred of lighteyes.
  20. From the text it sounds like Szeth was made truthless because of some theological disagreement with the stone shamans (perhaps wrt the final desolation?). If he is to go free I think it would involve him finding proof that he was right and the stone shaman dogma was wrong. This could very possibly have to do with Kaladin since I assume the word of an Honorspren about such things would be above doubt.
  21. Calico cats are all female. So I doubt thats whats going on with Adolin (edit: maybe Renarin???) In female mammals one of the X chromosomes is turned off randomly early in development. All future cells inherit this trait. However not all cells turn off the same X chromosome. In humans this isn't very noticeable since few traits are X linked. In cats coat color is X linked. Thus each different splotch on a calico cat's coat is descended from a cell line that turned off a different X chromosome from its neighbors.
  22. um, Kaladin isn't real... I think the stress is starting to get to you Take a vacation, goto Disney World or somesuch. Or alternatively you could snap and leak the entire text of WoR... we won't tell.
  23. I've tried 3 times already. Once each day when a glimpse failed to materialize at the appointed time. edit: and I do have emails in my history from tor in 2011, so it worked at one point...
  24. I signed up but don't get glimpses dunno whether to blame gmail or tor
  25. Would you consider yourself more or less sadistic than Catbert?
