Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by recruit, I assume they've made a PM with everyone, that seems like them. They've only been discussing thoughts with me. Could you possibly elaborate on why you trust the people you do?- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm sorry if it came off that way, I'm just trying to express what I'm seeing. Maybe you and I are quite different in our thinking and methodology, that's fine by me, I didn't want to start a feud or anything. And I also didn't notice it was you I was talking about with both those things. I'm just trying to gather information right now, and get what Im seeing into the thread for more discussion is all.- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I believe that the "free cycle" would come from Bastille for sure being around no matter what to protect one of the three smedrys when they get attacked. It's not necessarily this cycle or any particular cycle, just a cycle in the future. . . . I feel crazy, but that last paragraph could be read as an eliminator trying to bait out Bastille into roleclaiming so that they could get traded the warriors lenses. *Slight mistrust* The village team consists of free kingdomers, not the smedrys. The smedrys are only the three roles of: Alcatraz Smedry, Grandpa Smedry, and Aydee Smedry. If someone has one of those three roles and gets targeted by the elim kill then Bastille (should they still have the warriors lenses) would protect that player. However all players who do not have that role are not protected by Bastilles warrior lenses. Also, if the warrior lenses can't be targeted by lenses or abilities then we can't duplicate them or create more no matter what. Edit: ninja'd by DeTess.- 240 replies

Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
My understanding is that Bastille only protects either Alcatraz or Grandpa because in the rules it says she protect a smedry, not just any free kingdomer. @Elandera is it just a smedry or any villager that Bastille protects?- 240 replies

Yeah, 3 would put it at 25%, 4 is 33%, 2 is 16.67%. three seems like a reasonable assumption. 11 PM PST. Or 0700 Zulu (GMT) if you want to get fancy.- 240 replies

Quick Fix 42: Alcatraz vs. the Watakotse Infiltration
Kynedath replied to Elandera's topic in Sanderson Elimination
On principle I don't like to lynch day 1, even though I recognize the need for it. Especially in a game this small and fast. We need information asap. I don't feel like extensive study of the lenses and roles will help overly much, there isn't enough time to go in depth for every ability. I would rather be looking at what people post than trying to definitively get strategies for how to use the various lenses. In the end most people will end up using their lenses how they want to and every new cycle will be a chaotic jumble of new information no matter how carefully we analyze optimal strategies. Open PMs are useful, but I've never really been sure how to use PMs properly in any SE game. I am wholly open to anyone who wants to PM me doing so, I welcome interaction with open arms!- 240 replies

Mid-Range Game 39: For Science
Kynedath replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I had such a great time playing this game! It was super fun and well done organizing and GMing it @BrightnessRadiant! @StrikerEZ That's the best way to lie though! The lie is even more believable when it's hidden in truth. I knew you were an elim! I didn't want to be right, you were so nice! I also second the question of if we will get to see the spec doc, dead doc, elim doc, and master spreadsheet.- 338 replies

That's fair, I can do that. Knowing that Sart is a traitor, your defense of him cycle one was very suspicious. Since lynches on day one are swingy, an eliminator might feel safer trying to defend a teammate. Also, in our PMs you were super nice to me (might be pocketing, might be just a pleasant person) which makes me suspicious of why you stole my bullet-proof vest (or attempted to at least). That item would be super useful for the elims to get because it makes it a lot easier to predict who you're able to kill and makes another villager easier to kill as well. And in addition to that I just kinda get an elimy vibe from you the last cycle or so. I can almost read your posts as if you were an elim struggling to recover from the loss of your teammates.- 338 replies

Mid-Range Game 39: For Science

I'm sorry folks, I've been dealing with personal issues lately and haven't been able to put as much time into this as I want. I'll do my best to keep active until the end of the game. I know, second cycle in a row, but things irl haven't been great. I'm so sorry about staying away though, I feel bad. I'm going to vote on Striker, I've thought their behavior felt off since a long while ago. I like them as a person from our PMs but I don't think I can ignore how suspicious they acted anymore. I trust Elandera from their long-term campaign against Elkanah, and also from the feel of their posts. Kidpen I also trust more than Striker from gut read. I think the way they have been acting the past couple of cycles is very village. I admit, most of this is gut read, but it's gut read that I have been developing over the whole game if that helps. I also feel like I've stated some strong evidence in favor of Striker in the past. if you guys want I can go and find them somewhere in the other cycles and bring them here.- 338 replies

Mid-Range Game 39: For Science

Okay, so 22 hours after the cycle was opened, and there are three whole posts in here. Not ideal. Striker - Suspicious because of their defense of Sart in cycle 1, Seem candid and honest in PMs though which throws me off. I like how active they are, but that's NAI unfortunately. Venture - Flying below the radar it seems, they started the last lynch on Joe (along with elkanah who got ninja'd). That's basically all I have on them, which isn't much and makes me nervous. Elandera - I find them very suspicious for reasons I have outlined previously, but their voting last cycle has mitigated that a little bit, they were wary of the Joe vote and proposed the theory that the elims are the ones who are staying fairly inactive. That theory makes a lot of sense to me, but it could also just be them trying to push those players into suspicion more than themselves. I'm not sure, sight elim read I think. Lemonelon - jumped on the Joe train relatively late. They claim that they voted on him because of the list of actions he sent out cycle 1, which could definitely be true and doesn't seem too much like an elim to me. Although that bandwagoning could be a tactic to solidify the joe lynch. Overall slight village read. Maybe neutral. Elkanah - See my thoughts on Venture. Kidpen - Not one of the most active players from what I remember, they voted on Striker when they said the striker lynch was meh and indicating that they were fine if Joe died from inactivity, seems a tad sketchy. Wow, the more I play this game the more I remember how difficult it is. I have no more solid suspicions, But I think we need to get the voting started and the conversation happening. Everything seems to be going quite slow at the moment. I'm going to vote for Venture @Butt Ad Venture due to their vote on Joe and the theory that the less active players are letting the village destroy itself which would be dramatic and quite compelling in a story.- 338 replies

Seven of us left. Assuming three starting elims and two elims left, five of us are village, we can only afford one more cycle with a mislynch and elim kill. I really don't want to have to do that though. It is extremely late where I live, so I can't analyse much now, but I will be back on in the morning with some more alertness so I can hopefully help contribute to the discussion. Assuming there is discussion that is, these threads are getting pretty bare (get it? threadbare? sorry, bad joke).- 338 replies

Im not thrilled with the relatively small amount of discussion going on at this point, but I think I'm going to be sticking with my current vote. I'm basing it off of behavior I saw in cycle 1 when Elandera was discussing Sart. I think that's the most concrete evidence I have and other reads are going to be softer since they all rely on the alignment of other players that I can't know. I know that Sart was an elim, and I know that Elandera was acting suspicious when it came to their posts regarding Sart. Gah, it seems like I'm just saying the same things, but that's really all I have and I want to stay relatively active if I can. Sorry guys, I don't have much else.- 338 replies

I can't really say anything about what's happened in the last few games, but I do know that when Devotary gained momentum with no opposition, people got wary. When people started to get wary of the lynch, Elandera posts this and people started to get less wary. That could be what you're saying, but it could also be an attempt from an eliminator to keep the village looking at devotary. And I still feel like their posts in the first cycle indicate that they were trying to distance themselves from Start and not seem like they were defending them while simultaneously not voting for them to keep them out of trouble. I feel pretty confident about this vote.- 338 replies

Mid-Range Game 39: For Science

Remy slammed the door behind him out of frustration. The situation was devolving and nothing he could write on his maps would solve it. He stormed over to his small desk and stared down the paper and ink angrily. Lines and notations, they seemed to be losing their meaning to him. He had been out looking at the stars, practicing astronomy and navigation without landmarks like he had been trained to do during his time at sea. Every line had to lead somewhere, but none of them ever did! "Ben zut, je n'suis pas un detective!" Remy pushed aside all of his maps and slammed down a new piece of paper. He reached into his bag and pulled out an ink bottle and quill he had received for his birthday before epics started appearing. Setting them down on the cramped desk he began to carefully write. His caligraphy skills were rubbish, he was a sailor, not a poet. But he had once heard that Magellan used to practice calligraphy and so he set his mind to practicing. He wrote his thoughts, anything that came to his mind. His search for the traitors dominated his mind at first but then began to fade away into thoughts of the tunnels and the steel depths of Newcago. Even something as trivial as the noodle bowl he had for lunch two days ago lingered in his mind and made its way onto the sixth piece of paper that had become covered in horrible cursive writing. Yes, Elandera is right, I have been very busy with the holidays. I regret not being on during the final hours of the last cycle, but it doesn't seem like too much happened anyways. I'm going to start off strong by voting for Elandera @Elandera for reasons that I have stated the previous cycle (in regards to their interactions with Sart cycle 1) as well as the following post they made: This looks to me like they were trying to quell the suspicions that others had about the lack of controversy around the devotary lynch. People were beginning to smell something fishy going on and they countered that to keep the momentum on the devotary lynch going.- 338 replies

Kynedath replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
That changes a lot! I've gone back through and looked through everyones interactions with Sart and it makes me incredibly suspicious of both @Elandera and @StrikerEZ. The following quotes are from Elandera in cycle 1 and cycle 2 respectively. These both seem suspicious to me, as if Elandera was trying to avoid voting on Sart while still distancing themselves from them. It seems fishy to me. Striker was staunchly defending Sart during cycle 1 as evidenced by the quote below: Sart accused Striker of trying to pocket them, and even went so far as to say they would vote for them in cycle 2 but I can definitely see that as being a ploy to distance themselves from Striker in case they were lynched. I also have reason to believe that Striker is an elim from our PMs, but I think this is the straw that broke the camels back. In our PMs, I offered to trade item info with Striker, they said no, but then came back 45 minutes later saying they'd want to do a trade. They claim this was because they had found someone else with the same item as them and they wanted to know if everybody had that same item. It seems to me like that would be enough time to go into a doc and get advice from a fellow eliminator telling them to get as much info as they could through PMs. In addition, Striker stole from me that cycle when I told him about my item. I'm going to do something probably ill-advised and say what item I have. I have a bullet-proof vest. I believe that Striker was trying to steal that vest from me so that the eliminators didn't have to waste a kill getting through it eventually. Because of all this, I am going to vote on StrikerEZ instead of Butt Ad Venture.- 338 replies

Remy was lost, the killings were happening even faster now, they didn't seem to have any notion of who was actually doing the killings either. His maps wouldn't help, his experience as a sailor was useless in Newcago, and he had been accused of being a traitor himself! Remy was trying his best to root out the killers, but this was not his area of expertise and he had been part of the group who had ended up killing that fellow. Nothing had come out of it in the way of damning evidence, and this whole ordeal was beginning to frustrate Remy. He was seriously contemplating leaving Newcago again. Remy began walking away from the group towards the tunnels, maps in hand. He needed to cool off and cartography was relaxing. He wandered the tunnels beneath the city for hours, but always in the back of his mind were the murders. He couldn't relax and even found himself forgoing making a map in favor of just wandering. That got him lost in the end, but there was a bright side, he did manage to find a small satchel that would hold his inks nicely on his long journeys. It too Remy twice as long to get back as it did for him to get out into the winding nowhere of the tunnels, but when he got back his head had cleared and he was ready to begin the search again. I don't have much to go on right now, but I find @Devotary of Spontaneity suspicious because of their last minute vote on DeTess. I'm not sure what it was for, could you clarify why you voted on them? looking at your last post where you voted for them I find it confusing. I also think that @Butt Ad Venture is giving me slight elim vibes, again because of their vote for Twibanu with almost no context, as well as the fact that I don't have any read on them from any of their posts previously. I get a gut elim read, I feel like they're hiding something. I'll put a soft vote on Butt ad Venture, but it's likely to change. I'm not sure what kind of information the lynch gave us this cycle, but I might be missing something obvious. That's all I can really post for now though, I have some things to do to prepare for holiday celebrations. Back in a while.- 338 replies

I mean, it's not specific to village, but the reason I'm hesitant to vote right now is because I feel like I'd be suspicious for introducing a new vote this late in the cycle, and that I'd be suspicious for voting on someone who has a vote on them already because it could be seen as bandwagoning or something. Turns out I'm suspicious for not doing either of those, so let me see if I can find a happy middle ground. Highest on my suspicion list is probably A Joe in the Bush, Lemonelon, Butt ad Venture, Sart, and the three that we've been focusing on somewhat this cycle. I don't know much about them, I don't have a good grasp on what they've done, I don't have really any read on them which makes me suspicious. If I had to vote for someone, I think it would be Butt ad Venture since I don't like their latest post voting on Twibanu for virtually no reason. But I don't particularly want to vote on someone who doesn't have votes on them because we are quite close to the end of the cycle. That would make me look suspicious (at least it would if make me suspicious if I were the one seeing that behaviour from someone else) and it wouldn't probably get any traction anyways since there is so little time left. Overall it just doesn't seem like a good idea to me.- 338 replies

Kynedath (1): Elandera Twibanu (1): StrikerEZ Elkanah (1): DeTess DeTess (1): CadCom Okay, so we are all tied up at one vote apiece if I'm counting correctly. I don't think this is a good idea personally, I don't like the idea of no lynch on day 2. I'm convinced that the three people that have been the main focus of the cycle shouldn't be the main focus of the lynch for reasons stated above by both Devotary and Twibanu. I'm not going to lie, I don't have many suspicions ever since Twibanu explained to me why my main method of reasoning was flawed. I don't really want to vote on anyone with a vote on them right now, but I also on't want to vote on anyone new since that just makes deciding on someone to lynch that much harder for the whole village. I don't have the time to do an in-depth analysis of everyone, so I think I'm going to see what happens to the vote before deciding where to put my own vote.- 338 replies

Right, okay so I must be forgetting that the other eliminators who would have been on would have changed it from that. Mid-Range Game 39: For Science
Kynedath replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm a bit confused, why does the fact that elims can override the kill orders of the other elims make the analysis invalid? I don't see a reason that an eliminator would knowingly leave their kill order on someone who was going to be lynched. That doesn't change if the other eliminators can override their kill order. The person who killed Coda most likely put the order in fairly early on and then didn't take the order off because they weren't around to notice the lynch swing to Coda. If they were on then they could have and probably would have changed the kill order to someone else. It doesn't really matter what the other elims were doing since even if they could change that order, they didn't. I may very well be holding onto those three more than I should, and I'm open to discussing others but I really think that there is an eliminator within those three. If I'm missing something in relation to my previous paragraph then I'll revise my assumptions, but by my logic one of those three is probably an eliminator and I think CadCom seems the most suspicious right now.- 338 replies
