  1. I believe that whaling is illegal in Nebraska, which wouldn't be a bad law, except it is landlocked. And could I have a pug, please? I've had a stressful day.
  2. In the Theseus myth, he meets a bandit named Sinis who kills passersby by stretching them between pine trees. When Theseus fights him, his daughter, Perigone, hides in the bushes and swears that if she survives, she'll never harm another shrub. Theseus lets her go and she raises a whole family of bush protectors.
  3. I should not make notes for mythology lessons late at night. They end up having sentences like "she swore to never harm another living shrub" in them. Edit: Why did you change they into the, autocorrect. Why do you not recognize real words?
  4. I'm not quite sure what a spaghetti rhinoceros pug is, but I really need to find out.
  5. New Gelliton post up. Blackhoof was okay with people using the gifted humans, right? Edit: Murderlina, you are going on the bus trip of doom with Nighthound and Neverthere!
  6. The vanillas were interrupting her reading. The screams from outside, which had previously been at the perfect distance for a background to her reading, were becoming louder and closer. Gelliton decided that she had to do something to quiet the uproar. Reluctantly rising from her chair, she set the book down and strode to the window. What she saw was not what she had expected; instead of one of her neighbors disciplining her servants, she saw a scared-looking man surrounded by a crowd of bestial once-men. As she watched, he touched a servant who had tried to flee from the nearest house. Within a few seconds, the servant' s expression went from terrified to blank to feral. Realizing that the man in the center of the once-men was either an epic, or judging by his bedraggled state, a gifted human, Gelliton began to draft a transparent pool of gel, warily watching the man. As she watched, one of the neighboring epics, a strength epic named Atlas, came out and threw one of the creatures into a tree with an audible snap. The leader turned towards him, as did many of the creatures. The man wore a look of intense concentration for a second and then the creatures, to a man charged at Atlas. The epic went down under a tide of once-men, and while he managed to kill a few, he was quickly killed. The creatures crowded around the epic and began to bite off chunks of his flesh. Prepared, and having seen quite enough, Gelliton shot three tendrils through her window, unpacking the man in the heart with one and in the legs with the others, to slow him if he had healing. The precaution seemed unnecessary,as he fell over, apparently dead. She broke the rest of the window with her gel and made a ramp to the ground. She then dissolved the ramp into spears, impaling the once-men and leaving them dead on the ground. Gelliton surveyed the mess before her and decided that a view like that would not do. She pulled out her mobile, and sent a text to Buttercup, saying that she had witnessed a man with the ability to strip higher function from humans attacking the area around her house. After requesting a clean-up for the mess in her front yard, she asked for a new window, explaining that it had been damaged in the attack. Changing into a clean dress, she had ordered the bloody one burned, Gelliton returned to her reading, wondering what new distraction the day would offer.
  7. Why does every teacher see fit to give massive amounts of homework before exam week. Massive loads of repetition don't help me study, but they do steal my free time.
  8. Me with all of the Christmas icons: How do I make Christmas Lerasium?
  9. I'm not Talanic, but I tested positive for aphantasia, and I learn in an auditory manner.
  10. I'm decent. It was just regionals, and I specialize in myth more than in the language itself. I'll see what happens at mid-state.With Certamen, I don't know what happened between last year and this year, because last year I was not very good at all. I guess summer study sessions helped.
  11. My JCL competition yesterday went well. I won at Certamen and I got a few best in show awards on tests. I'm not quite sure how, though.
  12. What is the agreed upon epic to human and high epic to epic population ratio? I might take Hobart.
  13. Are any of those completely unstructured at the moment?
  14. What cities in the Wastelands are open?
  15. My Venture Crew Christmas party was tonight. We did Dirty Santa and played way too many card games. One of the games of ERS lasted for over an hour. I'm far too drained to consider socializing face to face right now. It was fun though. And I have regionals for JCL tomorrow and I'm the only one on the Certamen (latin quiz bowl) for my level of Latin. Wish me luck.
  16. If you have a bone to pick with Os, Google zerg rush. It should prove therapeutic.
  17. Seconded. I either say curse it or storms(or flibbertigibbet, but that's just because it is enough fun to say that it automatically brightens my mood). There's an art to not-curses.
  18. New Earths and Droids and Order of the Stick. And the Darths and Droids is called Order of the Stick. Today has been a good day.
  19. I love Calculus. My teacher let my friend a bring a crock pot of soup in for the whole class. It was very good. I also ran today for the first time in a month. I ran five miles and now I have no idea what I was thinking.
  20. That is both wonderfully random and oddly hilarious. I keep rewatching it and I'm not sure why.
  21. That is one very very pitiful looking cat. And a good way to gain upvotes.
  22. No one can up vote Kobold again. He has such a nice round number of upvotes. I'm definitely not trying to stop him so I can catch up in the next decade.
  23. Gelliton is back at her house. If anyone wants to interact, Alan me. For Portland, Sightline is currently in Thoughttown and I wouldn't mind an Alan if anyone wants to interact.
  24. I may or may not have started cursing by Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All after reading the Stormlight Archive.
  25. American Pie by Don McLean. Or just set Wagon Wheel to loop. Hotel California by the Eagles is quite good. I'm not sure about your tastes, so sorry if these aren't what you want. Thanks for the Tolkien date, Elbereth. Melian is awesome.
