I imagine that great gemstone will become much more useful now, other than Soulcasting. They may store Stormlight for long time also during the weeping. But actually we don't know if the Everstorm changed the Roshar's cycle and if there will be new Weepings

If Hoid acquires all forms of investiture...
Yata replied to zeppomarks's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Ok it took me a while ( I have really good memory but it's hard to find a specific reference on the forum, often I read a WoB and in my mind I remember it as concept not the exact wording). This WoB has spoilers from Mistborn SH and BoM and some SA books: This resume what I want to say. An Allomancer isn't high Invested and he became Invested only when he burns metals. But the usage of Allomancy twist the user's spiritweb (forging new connection) that made them capable of "hang around" longer. I am sorry if before I made myself unclear. -

Actually I have to find the WoB but I am sure about. While they burn metals you have right but while they don't use allomancy they don't have any extra investiture. Of course a Mistborn becomes more invested than a Misting while burn metals. He may burn multiple metals at once and recive multiple stream of Preservation's power. And a Lerasium mistborn may also burn a greater amount of metals to get more power. But the "ability to burn" don't made you high invested. It's a coded part of your spiritweb like anyone else. If the Connections in Spiritweb are Investiture worty and old guy will be more invested than a newborn because in his life he made a lot of new Connection. Forgive me if at the moment I can't find the reference, but I think we have a Wob who said that Lerasium Mistborn>Mistborn>Misting>Nice Guy relationship is about their connections to Preservation (and the power they may tap from him) not about their level of innate investiture. I think we may see it in SH where someone didn't notice anything strange or different about Allomancer and Feruchemist who are not using their powers (I stay vague for the guys that didn't read the book yet...It's quite obvious the context for the others) -

Actually an Allomancer isn't more invested than a normal people. He has not more Investiture than someone else (of Scadrial of course), the extra Spirit-Web who allow him to perform Allomancy is something meaningless and in line with any other mundane Spirit Web an Human may have. This of course is true while the Allomancer isn't burning metals...When he burns them, he tapps Preservation's Power and become High Invested...This is true for a Misting, Mistborn and Lerasium Mistborn. Now my interpretation: To become an Sliver with Allomancy, you need the ability to tap from Preservation's over a certain threeshold at once. The power in Allomancy doesn't stay within the user. It merely pass through him...and to reach the Sliver status, you have to have other a certain Investiture's level at once. Probably a Feruchemist may reach the same goal with a lot (but a really lot) of Stored Attributes to tap at once. I imagine this would need a Feruchemists' comunity who store no stop for ages and then a single one who tap this Feruchemical treasure at once. PS: In the books we see someone tap an godlike amount of Feruchemical Charge and they didn't became Slivers (probably) therefore the Investiture's treeshold is probably beyond Human's immagination. PPS: Susebron's Breath is something between 65000-80000 Breath and from I am quite confident He became an Endowment's Sliver but I have just little proofs. He is probably the most Invested being we saw among the mortal one. -
I have a Theory that Nightblood's bond give to the partner the ability to absorb Stormlight on Roshar but it's a theory therefore better to use canon material. IF an Herald may develop Squires (and we don't know) and Szeth becomes a Nale's Squire he will gain the ability to drawn in Stormlight and this will allow him to unleash Nightblood. As other option if Nale is actually at top of the newformed Skybreaker's Order (also a couple of Radiant is enough), Szeth may become a squire of one of them (with the time)

As far as I know, we have no ufficial WoB about Patji's Eye as Perpendicularity (and to be honest I am a bit sceptic about). Anyway I remember a WoB about the presence of Shard on Threnody and I was luckly enough to find it quite fast:

We know it's possible to unsplinter a Shard, but we don't know how this may be do. Rememeber that Honor's Splinter is quite in every Sentient Spren on the whole Roshar. As the previous post said I don't think we will find another Ascension in SA (or at least not Honor) and in the end, I think we may lost Roshar for true this time...it will be a brave choice but I may see Mister. Sanderson to do this for the sake of the story. PS: you forget on Roshar there are another unsplintered Shard who may oppose to Odium, Cultivation is there. Maybe she isn't an Humanity friend but I think she doesn't want to die either

I may see the reason to think that a Returned is a Divine-Breath who imit/imprint the deadman's soul. I have to say that your idea about the weekly Breath as fuel for the former deadman's cognitive shadow is quite briliant, you give us a actual possibility. There are other possibilities, for example: Endowment seals the memories because She doesn't want that the people uses her chance to return as an extra life or for a personal agenda instead of Endowment agenda. BUT I have a great doubt. We see the Returned to have be greatily influenced by their former self. With memories who return (bad joke) sometime and often a full memory-recover in the end. With your idea this is caused by the Cognitive Shadow who try to influence/manipulate the Returned. But I don't see the point in this Cognitive Shadow's actions

@Spoolofwhool two things: - Honor is probably died after the Recreance as he had some memories of the KR's oathbreak that He sends to Dalinar with the Visions. - Your quote from the letter may be read to have a opposite meaning. As "thanks to Tanavast, thousands of years passed before Odium may kill a Shard's Vessel. It's a true shame that this stop with the Tanavast's dead" after all when Tanavast's die. Odium was struct for Millennia

I have two possibilities about this: - A Shard's Influence is enough to be expanded in the whole system and therefore also the "divile leash" is long enough to make them free move around in the system. - The Ancient Human on Great Roshar was spread differently as suggest the myth of the Hall of Tranquillity. This mean that H&C's duty isn't originillyabout Roshar but another or both the other planet of Great Roshar About the Champion, I am very unsure about his link to the Oathpact.

There may be Perpendicularity not linked to Shards... If a Shard invested in a planet soon or later on that planet a Perpendicularity borned by the Shard's investiture will form (what we called Shardpools for years). But this don't mean there are not perpendicularity without a Shard. We know there are some Investiture left in many place of the Cosmere without any shard's action. To be more concise: every Shardpool is a perpendicularity but not every perpendicularity is a Shardpool. As counter example you may notice how the Threnody's magic fits in the minor Shardworld's logic. On threnoty, people don't became mage or gain special power...Instead they have to interact indirectly with magic in the ecosystem (shades).

I think Odium was trapped inside a bind (Oathpact) made not for him. Maybe the Oathpact was originaly made as an oath to the Humans of Great Roshar that H&C will not leave them alone. And the Oathpact as conseguence stops every Ascended one to leave the System... Once Odium was inside Great Roshar He can't leave. PS: Both Cultivation and Preservation are opposite to Ruin but in different ways. Cultivation and Ruin have similar habit with opposite purpose. Preservation and Ruin have opposite habit with a lot of different purpose (but less than Cultivation-Ruin)

The books seem to point as different spren type--->different ability to be visible or not. Returning to Ivory, I have a new idea: Maybe Ivory (and his kind) can be visible and invisible at will but not in a selective way. I mean, when Ivory decide to be visible, everyone may see him. while he want to be invisible, nobody (Jasnah included) may see him. If this is true, Ivory have to become visible to everyone to interact with Jasnah.

How did *spoiler* not know that *spoiler* died?
Yata replied to What's a Seawolf?'s topic in Mistborn
New hypotesis... Probably Paalm knowed that Harmony may interctept almost every deadman. And we know that the time of someone remain in the Cognitive (the time useful to Sazed) is longer if the guy is high invested. Therefore it's possible that Paalm killed the guys with Hemalurgy (not because she need some new Spike) to remove a big chunk of Victim's soul. This mean that his transition from the Cognitive to the Beyond may be faster than usual and in a time where Sazed is "busy/distracted" those kill may be unseen by Harmony himself. PS: this give to Paalm also some Spikes if she need them. -
Shallan is often with Kal and she never notices Syl. In the same way Renarin don't actually notice Syl with Kal

Like Mestiv said quite every town (big or small) have a different appeal than the American's one (but I have to be honest I saw American's city just through TV). Also little and meaningles towns are probably older of the whole USA. For example in my town you may pass in 20 minutes from the suburbs to the old town and you find there building with 900-1000 years. And they are not museums or something like that... house were normal family lives. We have too much of medieval building to not use them. Also but this depend by the country, in Europe we have very less space than you. This mean that often one building is build very close to the next one.example: This is a photo of were I live (the old town not the whole city) of course many building were been restored and modernized:

It's a bit unlikely but it's possible that Paalm didn't kill Innate and with Skill she manage to impersonate a good Innate with another bones -
I read the Lord of the Rings in 3 days when I was 14 years old. PS: This made me think that I am old now...

I remember the first time I went to Spain (2 years ago) and I was amazed to see a web of transport who actually works. While my girlfriend returned at home with a lot of stories about churches, parks,ecc... I take with me amazing memories of clean and punctual underground where it's not a fight to move across the city. PS: I am with @Mestiv in his confusion about how the American builds their house.

Like Blightsong said, probably all the surges with a certain deegre may push you into the Cognitive. But I think trasportation surge is the only capable of a full transition of Realms.

If Hoid acquires all forms of investiture...
Yata replied to zeppomarks's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Actually I don't know...But probably no, Sel is peculiar in this. the power on Sel is somewhere and may be pressed to have a region with an above the average level of Investiture. In the standard case the power can't "pressed" because it hasn't a location... But it's all speculation (Of course I am talking of power that come from external, the world with internal power have no chance of doing this at all) -
I like @Jondesu find quite impossible the focus-change when you change planet. First of all, the Magic is coded in your sDNA and this not change if you worldhop. Secondly the Gemstone are NOT the Roshar's Focus, we can't be sure about what the focus is but the Gemstone was deleted from the possible candidates thanks to Secret History (I avoid the matter further because we are not in a Spoiler Free topic). Third if we take the "if you change planet your magic changes focus with the new planet's one" as hypotesis, we will find the end of everything we know in the Cosmere. The Worldhopper Kandra ? Mindless as soon he leaves Scadrial because his Blessings are hemalurgic no more. An Inquisitor or Koloss ? Dead... A Feruchemist will lose all his Feruchemical Charge in his Metalminds at once. I may find other strange example but I am woke up and my mind is not at his full capacity. Returning to the topic: The Hemalurgy steals Spirit web, steal other powers are not an "extra" in the Hemalurgy's Scope. Everyone in every Shardworld have Soul/Spirit Web. It's the same thing of the Bronze, the Scadrial guys think it "senses Allomancy" but it's just a misunderstood of his real effect filtred by their limited live experience. In their planet alone there are 3 Magics but two of them are "stelthy" while one if really noisy... This made them think that the Bronze may sense only Allomancy. (I propose also the theory that Steel and Iron Allomancy are victims of the same misunderstood but there are no evidence to prove or disprove this theory of mine) Anyway it may be possible multiple models to make a lot of Cosmere's powers fit the 16 Spike (to avoid to mix hypotesis, here I don't apply my previous one about the need of Ruin's Investiture). For example: - Well the Spikes made by metals who may steal everything (Atium for example) may be used to foreign powers (ok this is obvius) - Maybe everywhere we read "it steals Mental Allomancy" it's really "it steals Mental Positive End powers" and the same thing with Feruchemy and End-Neutral. Of course this explaination doesn't cover every possibility (other End Negative powers) but actually we have no proof about the Hemalurgy may steal every power.

Yata replied to zeppomarks's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Probably at least a bit you are connected with a Shard if he/she fuel a magic you have. But I think it's more easy to develop Connections to a Shard with mundane way (as Sazed did for example) Using the "shortcut" of becoming a mage may be actually less efficient (we see a tons of misting and mistborn but they are not probably compatible with Preservation) and harder: You want to be more connected with the Shard X---->You try to became a magic user of the Y system fueled by X--->To became a Y user you need to be Connected to X (loophole) -
It's not how the Metallic Arts works. They are restricted to those 16 Metals (and the godmetal that I see as a bit as an Hack). We have some trustful sources in-world who confirmed the number of Metals.

I have a chance to meet him this November...If this happens I will ask him (I have more important questions, but I think it's better to have clear definitions)
