just because the next hightstorm would refill the gems doesn't mean that the Awakening will be refreshed. Probably in this hypotetical case, we will find an Awakened object made of gemstones who posses a short lifespan (until the Awakener's stormlight last) and some other Stormlight recived by every highstorm...as two different stocks. It's the same thing of storing breath into an Awakened object...the new stored Breath don't stack with the one who made the prot-mind of the Awakened Object.

Nope, also if I remeber the ones you cited. I meant: 1) NB reduces the amount of usable of Investiture 2) Nb doesn't reduce the amount of usable investiture. But I have to re-search them, because I think there was some precise wording in the WoBs. I remember that actually reading together you may extrapolate that :"Nightblood's consumed Investiture aren't usable for a long long time but soon or later it will return avaliable" or "Nightblood changes the Investiture to be unusable by anyone"...But they are just memories, I have to check the actual WoB

Maybe I misunderstood the books, but the Szeth's words and the Radiant-Shardbearer scenes made me think that some of the actual problems on Infusing a Shardplade is about the gemstones in its inside. Like: You infuse a Shardplate to performe something and the gemstones harmless absorb your Investiture. Did we see a gemstone actually affected by a Surge ? If this is true a Gemstone may be used with some limitation as anti-surgebinder tool until they break for a quick charge-discharge) imaginate: A Windrunner uses Adesion Surge to struck you on the wall (and you are not The Lopen) and you may simply place a gemstone near the Infused Stormlight to slowly made the gem absorb the Investiture.
