  1. Well, Canada is technically not the U.S., even if FedEx only has to ship it an extra 70 kilometres. Darn shipping costs. Also, what makes you think Canada? I could technically be in Mexico. Or in international waters.
  2. Given that he RAFO'd something that would be of very minor importance if it wasn't true, probably. He had 300 years to steal it.
  3. Welcome! Hey! My name's Jakob too!
  4. I'm lucky enough that my house is like half an hour from the U.S. border, so I can just get it shipped to the border for 75 bucks cheaper. I can't imagine that getting something across the border costs that much. It seems very strange to me.
  5. I was referring to their shells. If you thought I was referring to Sadeas's food, I may have to rescind my earlier comment. Also, you know you're a Sanderfan when you debate the value of using chull in food.
  6. Well, that certainly makes better sense than my theory of Hoid beating up Shardholders in dark alleys. In all seriousness, I don't know if we'll ever figure out what Hoid is doing and how he's doing it. He's like Sanderson's Quick Ben.
  7. Rock would be disappointed in you. Airsick lowlander!
  8. Thanks! About Godzilla, when I made the spikes, I thought: "Do those look a bit too much like Godzilla?", then after pondering for a bit, I thought: "Nah, nobody'll notice.". Turns out I was wrong. Ah, well.
  9. You know you're a Sanderfan when you look at the wall of "Tim Hortons" and think the sign says "Creamy Chocolate Chull", instead of "Chill".
  10. Since I like both fantasy books and origami, I have made quite a few fantasy book-based origami models over the years. In any case, I decided to take a shot at a Whitespine. This is it. it uses four squares of paper: One for the body, tail, and limbs, one for the head, and two for the spikes P.S. I'm using "Mistborn as a pedestal because it won't stand up on my bed and my copy of "Mistborn"'s cover doesn't curl for some reason. Also, if anyone is interested, I can post a diagram for the Whitespine.
  11. Words of Radiance: A report: Part 1 of 638 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Contents 1...............A summary of the Stick scene 2...............The meaning of Stick 3...............An in-depth analysis of Stick's species 4...............The history of Stick 5...............Stick and Shallan: A contrast 6...............The metaphysical effects of soulcasting upon Stick 7...............The evolution of Stick 8...............Possible backstory of Stick 9...............Stick compared to regular sticks 10.............A brief conclusion to the "Stick" segment. You know you're a Sanderfan when your book reports all have ten pages discussing Stick. (Even if it's not a book written by Brandon Sanderson.)
  12. I change my wallpaper every month, and they're almost always dragons, so this is what I have for the rest of August: http://www.imgbase.info/images/safe-wallpapers/miscellaneous/fantasy/24316_fantasy_dragon.jpg P.S. How does one make a link that isn't the actual URL?
  13. Well, comets are Stick-shaped, and... Guys, we've got it!
  14. Well, I don't think Steel Inquisitor-ing pays much, other than having superpowers and a high rank. As for the Obligators, I think you might be underestimating just how much witnessing they do, since, apparently, they witness everything "As simple as promise to come to a game of shelldry." . Also, they run the bank, so that has to count for something. Finally, according to the wiki, the Canton of Resource handles "trade, transport, and taxation", so I guess there are taxes.
  15. How is it that the natural progression is Spren to Darkeyes to Skaa? I don't think the nobles are allowed to murder random darkeyes on a whim... Also, Syl is a spren. Just sayin'.
  16. I think Hoid could probably appear in The Reckoners, whether it makes sense or not, just by virtue of being Hoid.
  17. You know you're a Sanderfan when, instead of clenching your fist in anger, you stick it to the side and try to summon your Shardblade.
  18. Assuming that Marsh knew what a Shardblade does, and doesn't let Szeth hit him in a lethal spot that wouldn't usually kill him, Marsh would probably win because of his raw allomantic power and 400-odd years of experience. Having said that, there's no guarantee that a Shardblade would do the same thing to an Inquisitor, since they don't really die like humans. They die when their Hemalurgic Spikes are separated, but is severing one's soul from something the same as separating their spikes? I just don't know. I'd have to say Marsh would probably win. As for the most powerful non-shard beings in the cosmere, I'd have to say these , in no particular order: Susebron, due to his great amount of Breath, if not experience. Marsh, who, as WayneSpren said, is basically the Lord Ruler+. The Nightwatcher, assuming that she isn't secretly Cultivation The Stormfather, since he seems to be in a similar weight class as the Nightwatcher, assuming, again that she's an uber-spren. Frost, just because he's a dragon.
  19. I originally heard about him when I read the "Babel Clash" article between him and Brent Weeks. I marked him down as an author whose books I wanted to read eventually, but he mostly slipped to the back of my mind. However, one day, at my local Chapters, there was a free booklet celebrating the release of "The Way of Kings" that included the first five chapters of Mistborn: The Final Empire, and Part One of "The Way of Kings. I read the excerpt from "Mistborn" soon after, and it was near Christmas, so I asked for a copy of "Mistborn". I read it a few months later, (I have a very expansive reading list) then bought and read books two and was finished within two weeks, because Brandon Sanderson writes in the kind of way that allows for that.
  20. It can never hurt to have a few extra reptiles around. Unless that reptile is Smaug. My life always sounds more interesting when I talk about dogwood berries and British spelling . Sanderfan. I must remember that.
  21. I have no idea where harmony travelling to Roshar came from. He was obviously still in Scadrial in The Alloy of Law, which Brandon Sanderson has stated happens at roughly the same time as The Way of Kings. (I can't find the quote, but it's somewhere.) I think that Harmony would probably have more raw power than Odium, but certainly not by a 2:1 scale. Given that Ruin apparently has very poor future-seeing abilities, and, according to the Letter, Ati was not originally as dangerous as Rayse, I think that Odium would be far more powerful than Ruin. However, Preservation has very powerful future-seeing powers, since preservation is a long-term thing. Preservation would have less raw power than Ruin since some of it is in the humans of Scadrial. However, even with that, I think that Harmony would have roughly the same future-seeing power as Odium. So, I imagine in a plain Shard-on-Shard cage match, Harmony would probably win. However, I think that Rayse is a far more cunning and dangerous Shardholder than Sazed. He also has far more experience in wielding the power of his Shard than Sazed. I think that it would probably be a very pitched battle, probably decided by the humans and other assorted minions. Also, if any other Shards intervened, which, given events up 'til now, seems unlikely, the tide of the battle would likely change, which I'm only adding since, assuming this hypothetical conflict would happen on Roshar, Cultivation, and possibly some Nightwatcher-calibre spren might join the battle.
  22. When commanded, fetch me a doughnut.
  23. Since I can't come up with anything more original, Hello! As you probably figured out by reading my nameplate, I go by the name of Evil Reptile. (It's a long story.) I love reading, folding origami, listening to music that can be described as "metal" or "rock", and swimming.I live at least seventy paces to the left of nowhere, depending on what you consider nowhere. My favourite food that's actually considered food is pizza. My favourite colour is green, and "favourite" and "colour" just got a red underline denoting that I used the British spelling. My favourite kind of stick is bamboo. My weapon of choice is words that nobody but me cares enough to know, and my poison of choice is dogwood berries. (Also a long story.) Anyway, I have read all of Brandon Sanderson's cosmere novels (but not novelettes or novellas or short stories), Steelheart, and I hope to read everything of his that I haven't. I write for fun and have never finished a story. Especially the one that actually had more pages of maps than story. I hope to one day convince everybody I know to read more fantasy books. I look forward to becoming a member of the Sanderson-fanian community.
