  1. To be fair, I was challenged for doing something I always do, so I'm not entirely sure how else I am supposed to respond. If you look at all of my previous games (I know I'm doing it again but it's to prove a point) you'll see I always reference previous games whenever it becomes relevant to the situation. As for this supposed contradiction, I don't recall ever saying that I was changing my play style entirely, just that I'm not going to be hesitant about lynching people and even ensure it happens if I have to in order to keep the game from stagnating. After I reread my post I realized I didn't really word it clearly. I was referring to when Lopen asked me about my opinion on Trelagist (where I said I would give him leeway) and then not too long after Young Bard (who is new as well) comes in with a vote on me. To me the timing came off as suspicious, and it made me wonder if he is a member of the 17th Shard and specifically sent to start a lynch on me knowing that I couldn't really retaliate. Not entirely sure what you're referring to about "That's not how eliminator docs work," can you please explain that bit a little more? I don't necessarily agree with that statement, plus I feel like this point contradicts your other. If I'd do the same thing when I'm an eliminator as I would when I'm a villager then how did I do something earlier that a villager is less likely to do (which just isn't true in my case)? When people start bringing up things I've done that are actually evil then maybe I'll be able to defend myself in a more meaningful way. Phattemer voted for me because of the circumstances of my vote on Mark (which he doesn't even know). For those who know what those circumstances are they should agree that they cannot be inherently interpreted as evil because it was something that I considered (and people saw me consider) before we received our roles. That and I have claimed since the beginning that I'd rather not follow through with it but barring any better leads figured it was worth a try. Lopen is voting for me because I said I am suspicious of two players due to their reactions to the situation. I explained why I genuinely find what they did odd, and don't really understand how that's lynchworthy. He also mentions that he thinks it's suspicious that I wanted a PM with Mark after he said something and I've explained that as well. As for you, I've already responded to what I can. I can't really defend myself from gut feelings, only mention how they are more often wrong than not. That being said, if the majority decision is that I get lynched I am fine with that because it should provide all with a lot to analyze, as I'm becoming increasingly certain that at least one of the players who voted for me today is a member of the 17th Shard.
  2. As promised, Mark IV. Empasis mine. Well, lengthening the thread was my intention after all . I would love to share but sadly it's going to have to wait until QF15 finishes. But I want you to look at the situation this way; my intention was to piggy back on someone else's vote to create some actual lynch pressure with a reason other than the usual "I see you viewing the thread but not posting" type thing. I just happened to go with the first thing that came to mind (a subject that was recently discussed in a dead doc) with hopes that it would get people to come out of their shells and take a stance (which as you can see has been rather effective). I had no actual intention of killing Mark over it. It has nothing to do with him as a player specifically, he was just an unlucky bystander. I don't see the harm in telling ya'll that Devotion listened to my request and created a PM with Mark and I. I explained to him what the whole business was about and he laughed about it in retrospect. I do tend to be a bit of a conspiracy theorist, and it tends to keep me on my toes more often than not. I think those are two completely valid points because I am known for advocating that new players be allowed to live and that players who die early in recent games be spared for a few cycles, and because DC's response to not retracting his vote wasn't very informative which I always find odd when it could actually mean life or death for a player, as if he has no concern for whether or not he kills a potential teammate. As for the bit about "getting information from Mark" he made a claim that guarantees he is on the same side as me so of course I'm going to want to communicate with him. If I was Odium I would just attack him and be done with it, and if I was a 17th Sharder I would already know whether or not he is a Shardholder, as well as the fact that I would want to be a LOT more discreet with gathering information than I have been thus far. Ultimately what it comes down to is that I find people who vote against me as suspicious because as you've stated before I am notoriously hard to kill (why would the eliminators risk attacking me only to find out I'm protected when they can just get me lynched?), as well as anyone who follows my lead way too easily (hence why I'm currently suspicious of Con and DC, but am giving the former player leeway because him being new and the latter for dying first in QF15). (2) Mark IV: DeathClutch19, Araris Valerian, (2) Amanuensis: Phattemer, The Mighty Lopen (1) leiftinspace: AliasSheep, (1) AliasSheep: leiftinspace, (1) The Young Bard: The Only Joe, (1) Nyali: The Young Bard, I have removed my vote from Mark even though it puts me at risk of being killed. If it comes down to it I would rather sacrifice myself then let him die. That being said, I earnestly hope that you end up placing your votes elsewhere.
  3. As Lopen has said I am one of the more active players. If you look back on LG15 and MR12 you'll probably find my play style is similar there. Honestly I find it a bit odd since you're basically voting for me for participating and attempting to encourage discussion, which is exactly what eliminators don't want. I would consider voting for you but with two votes on me now that would tie me with Mark for the lynch which is less than ideal, and this is also the first game I've seen you in so I'd prefer to not vote for you to give you some time to play / so I can get to know you as a player. I do wonder if you're a member of the 17th Shard who was encouraged by his teammates to vote for me knowing that I wouldn't retaliate due to you being new since I just mentioned that in my post about Trel, though... Thanks for responding. I don't have much desire to test that theory immediately, and honestly I'd rather just file it away for later and actually lynch someone for a valid reason. My main intention was to see how you and others would react (for those who aren't in the QF15 dead doc to see who'd ask why I'm being secretive, for those who are that might be willing to follow my lead or oppose it, things like that) as its all very telling information. Unfortunately I think you've just given us a bit too much information though. Devotion if you could create a PM with Mark and I at some point I would appreciate it greatly. Also Mark I will remove my vote from you if you'll take yours from me, and based off Con's posts so far I think he'll do so as well. I'm honestly a bit suspicious that DC hasn't removed it either, though I suppose it might be because he's aware of the theory I mentioned testing. EDIT: Forgot to say this before but happy birthday Mrs. IV!
  4. Going to try and get some sleep. Probably will only rest for four-six hours, so I might be on for a little bit after I wake up. Got some last minute souvenir shopping to do before I leave Africa and I have plans with my local friends in the evening so I doubt I'll be as active in the second half of this turn as I was in the first. Also I'm pretty sure I'll be close to entirely inactive during the night turn because I'll be bouncing between several flights and two of them are over twelve hours long. So consider this a warning that I likely won't be around much until Tuesday or Wednesday. That being said, Zephrer. Just in case I don't get on again I'll put my vote back on Mark IV for the sake of testing that one theory I mentioned in the QF15 dead doc since for the time being I don't have much reason to suspect anyone else. This should give him time to speak up about everything that has been discussed by then and DC the opportunity to remove his vote if he decides there's no good reason for him to die, or for anyone else to stack votes on another player if they turn out to be a better lynch candidate. (2) Mark IV: DeathClutch19, Amanuensis, (1) Araris Valerian: Paranoid King, (1) Mailliw73: Conquestor, (1) Trelagist: The Mighty Lopen, (1) Amanuensis: Arraenae, (1) leiftinspace: AliasSheep, (1) AliasSheep: leiftinspace,
  5. Well, Trelagist is still alive in QF15 but hasn't posted on there since May 13th. Overall he wasn't very active that game, but it appears that he was fairly active in LG20, in which he died on May 6th... so basically it seems he doesn't have a habit of consistent activity. I'm guessing the reason he hasn't posted here recently is the same reason why he hasn't posted in the QF, which looking at the last time he was online (over thirteen hours ago) is probably due to something that's going on in the real world and/or his time zone. I don't believe he received any votes before him logging off so it's not like he had a reason to speak up in defense of himself when he was online. I have been paying attention to who's viewing the thread fairly often and have yet to see any guests so I doubt it's a matter of him watching the thread anonymously while talking in a document, which is also supported by the fact that he's not following the thread and thus not receiving emails. While I do think that it's odd that he was active before and eager to receive his role and then proceeded to disappear after the fact, I don't think that's damning enough evidence on its own. Plus he's a newer player and I always try to give them some leeway.
  6. By one of the three "Evils" I'm referring to 17th Shard, Autonomy and Odium as win conditions. All of their wins will result in a village loss. Not trying to guess how many 17th Sharders there are, but I'd reason four since once Odium and Autonomy choose their Champion and Agent then that effectively means there are 8 players of 25 that do not count toward the village win con. Also, Arraenae. Will poke Zephrer to encourage them to post. I personally find lurkers automatically suspicious, since conversation is the strongest tool we have for catching eliminators.
  7. Well I've voted on and retracted for a lot of people just because I was trying to keep the conversation moving, so it's not like you're special or anything but that second bit is consistent with what I said in QF15 where I am trying something different by making sure someone is lynched every turn to make sure the game doesn't stagnate. Not trying to get on your good side, it's just common sense that last minute votes to decide lynches do more harm than good. I would have elaborated on it more for why I agree but like I said in blue text I can't divert too much attention to this game right now because I'm with friends.
  8. The Mighty Lopen. Figured you were typing a post but just in case thought a poke would be a good idea. Was about to change my vote to Orlok but he's not in this game so... Arraenae. You haven't said anything yet. Thoughts? I agree with Lopen on giving people time to respond to votes so I'll likely tack a second vote onto someone soon. Think I'll stick with Mark after this though, due to that thing I mentioned when I first voted for him. I'm hanging out with some friends right now so I can't dedicate much attention to this game right now, but can someone please compose a list of who hasn't posted yet for me? Thanks.
  9. Empasis mine. Just want to clarify that my intention was never to force anyone to do something they're not comfortable with. Just noticed that the thread wasn't really going anywhere and wanted to bring up something I was thinking about and see people's thoughts on it. I'm not necessarily suspicious of Mailliw for his opposition, however if we eventually learn that the 17th Shard did indeed get distributed evenly that might be evidence for him being on their team. My only intention right now is to generate discussion so that when we discover more information later on things can be analyzed to hopefully catch the bad guys.
  10. Suppose that's a good point, though I still think it's a theory worth testing and if I am wrong I am willing to make that mistake. Anyone else have thoughts on the matter? Even discussions like this that might seem unimportant can provide insight for us later on. Also I recommend that if there are any other subjects on people's minds you bring it up so we can see everyone's stance on them as well. My PM is relatively quiet and a lack of conversation has never helped the village.
  11. Well there is a reason to reveal worlds if you believe my theory . I just want to know so that I can group people together based on their origin and compare them with one another to figure out who among them most likely belongs to one of the three "Evils." It'd provide me (and some other players if they choose to do something similar) direction as at this point in time there's no real leads to pursue. Ultimately I believe that if there is no harm in everyone knowing then having more information is automatically better than less.
  12. Okay, in that case I don't think there's any reason for us to keep people's starting locations a secret then. If anyone else disagrees please speak up and explain why, but here's my perspective on the situation. The 17th Shard / Odium / Autonomy are going to kill and convert whoever they want. The only real danger we have with everyone knowing who is where is Ruin potentially destroying a planet to role block its inhabitants, but at this point in time no one should know each others roles so I doubt Ruin will use his ability this early, and if he does it probably won't be for that reason. More likely than not the 17th Shard is spread out among the worlds and therefore have an information advantage, as they can compile who is on the same world as them and probably figure out where the others are, and due to them being spread out we might be able to narrow down suspects based on who began where. I have a theory that each planet PM is compromised by one of the three "Evils," and barring any better leads currently think it might be worth looking into. Overall I just think that this is one of those situations where the village would benefit more than the other factions in having this information out in the open. Beyond starting locations I don't think it'll be so important where players hop to but that also might be something worth tracking in the future. Thoughts, people? I will go ahead and mention that I am on Taldain as I personally don't see a reason to keep it a secret. I will not reveal who is there with me, however, just in case they'd rather people not know for whatever reason. EDIT FOR VOTE TALLY (2) Mark IV: DeathClutch19, Amanuensis, (1) Paranoid King: The Mighty Lopen, (1) Quiver: Nyali, (1) Araris Valerian: Paranoid King, (1) Burnt Spaghetti: Conquestor,
  13. Ahh, okay then. That's different :] so the vote tally is currently as follows. (2) Mark IV: DeathClutch19, Amanuensis, (1) Paranoid King: The Mighty Lopen, (1) Quiver: Nyali, (1) Araris Valerian: Paranoid King, One more question, all-mighty GM. I think this is the case but just want to make sure. Actions can affect anyone regardless of the world they are on, right? Or, in other words, you don't need to be on the same planet as someone to use an ability on them, yes?
  14. @Seonid: Do you want original votes to be edited green in order for new ones to count? If so, then here's the current vote tally. If not then the subsequent tally will be the accurate one. (3) Mark IV: Mailliw73, DeathClutch19, Amanuensis, (1) Paranoid King: The Mighty Lopen, (1) leiftinspace: The Only Joe, (1) Quiver: Nyali, (1) The Only Joe: leiftinspace, (2) Mark IV: DeathClutch19, Amanuensis, (1) Paranoid King: The Mighty Lopen, (1) Quiver: Nyali,
  15. Well I'm going to put a vote on Mark IV for reasons I can't discuss openly right now. Some players in this game should be able to figure out why I am voting for him. I might change my vote depending on what happens throughout the duration of this turn but for now I've got no other leads to pursue. Also I personally see no harm in people announcing what planet their on and with who, and it would greatly help me with my notes, but I'm still waiting on confirmation from one other person on my world to see if it's okay that I say where they are.
  16. Lopen: Says hi, asks for opinions on players and why I voted for him Aman: Say I don't have many opinions formed but will conduct analysis as soon as I get the chance. I explain that I had no real reason other than his back-and-forth poke votes, and that I wanted to see how he'd react to the pressure as well as how Elby would respond. Lopen: Says he hasn't gathered many thoughts either. Figured it had to do with adding a second vote to create a real threat and that he was thankful Elby removed her vote. Aman: I ask who all he has talked to so far and mention that other than him I've only talked to Joe as I haven't bothered to start any PMs myself. Lopen: Lists those seven players I mentioned before and says he'll tell me more in a moment. Aman: Told him I was about to take a nap before physical training but that I should be on before turn over in case I have to change my vote for some reason. Lopen: Says he was eating so that's why his response was delayed. Mentions that he PM'd nearly every player but not all had replied. Asks if I'm L. Aman: I say something along the lines of "Do you expect me to tell the truth either way?" Lopen: Mentions that L has already claimed to two people, and that he expected L would claim to people soon but not that early. Says I'm "bold enough" to attempt something like that. I never ended up responding because I was asleep, and when I finally got to my tablet he was already dead.
