  1. (write-up to come) The Silver Dragon was killed! He was a Crewmember! Conquestor was killed! He was a Crewmember! Cloudjumper was stabbed! He was a Mutineer! DeathClutch was stabbed! He was a Crewmember! Vote Tally: The Silver Dragon (5): The Only Joe, Lopen, Sart, zas678, Mckeedee Conquestor (1): The Young Bard
  2. (write-up to come) No one was killed or lynched! Vote Tally: The Young Bard (1): The Only Joe Conquestor (2): zas678, Lopen Mckeedee (1): The Young Bard Lopen (2): Sart, Conquestor So, I know I said I would post it at 8pm, but things happened, and I don't know how late I'll get home tonight. I figure it's better to post it early rather than late. PM and Doc use is now open. Cycle will still end at 8pm EST tomorrow night. Apologies for all of the miscommunication.
  3. Results: No one was lynched or killed! Vote Tally: The Young Bard (2) (1) : Elbereth, The Only Joe Conquestor (2): Zas678, Lopen McKeeDee (1): The Young Bard Lopen (2): Sart, Conquestor We have a three-way tie!
  4. The start of Cycle Three will be delayed until 8pm tomorrow night. Cycle Two will still end tonight. The results of Cycle Two will be posted in this cycle's thread. A full write-up will be posted with the Cycle Three thread. No PM or Doc use is allowed during this time. I know this solution sounds a bit weird, but the forum update caught me off-guard and unprepared. This is the best way to make sure I can properly GM. So, tomorrow, take a day off from killing each other! Sit back, relax, and watch the red eyes glaring at you from outside the safehouse. Oh, and the write-up is up now.
  5. Yes. It comes after all kills. So, if you pass Silver Powder to someone who's making a kill, it doesn't protect them from the Shade kill. Items passed to someone who dies will simply be kept by the original holder, as the recipient was never alive to receive them.
  6. Cycle 2 The Silver was cold and wet against his bare toes. The chill had traveled from his toes all the way up to his knees, where it had met the chill caused by the dew ridden grass beneath his back. Innocent didn’t care to remember how long he’d been laying here, right where he’d helped throw Kelen to his death. He’d stayed there afterward, watched Kelen’s Shade throughout the night. At some point he must have fallen asleep. He could still see Kelen when he woke up. Crouching across the ring, glaring at him with hatred in his red eyes. The four Shades that killed him had calmed down and left, but he had stayed to watch his murderer. Stayed to condemn the man who was already condemning himself. “Hell take my soul.” Innocent muttered to himself, wondering if Kelen could hear him. He used his elbows to push himself upwards, so that he could face Kelen. “My father would be so disappointed in me, you know? He wanted me to be someone of good-repute. A merchant, or a tailor, or, i dunno, something.” He waved vaguely, trying to get his point across. “He named me Innocent because that’s what he wanted me to be. Innocent, when he wasn’t. My family can trace it’s roots back to the olden days, before these damned forests were even discovered. And guess what?” He waited, but Kelen didn’t ask. “Every one of them was a criminal. My father wanted me to break the cycle.” He pulled his feet back from the ring, and crouched down, matching Kelen’s pose. “I was poor, and Montgomery took me in, taught me how to survive in this dark world. Taught me to steal and kill, rob and burn, pillage and hide. But he also taught me to be honorable, and to not betray a trust. And I never did. Until two nights ago.” He raised his hands, remembering exactly what Jack’s blood looked like on them. “It took them two whole weeks to convince me that he needed to die. And I still regret it. I never should have helped them. Now, I’ve killed him, and I’ve killed you. I don’t know what to do.” He leaned backwards, falling back to the ground with his arms splayed out to either side. “I don’t know what to do Kelen.” The wet grass made squishing noises as it was stepped on. Innocent didn’t bother to look in the direction of the sound. Why bother? It didn’t matter. A man appeared above him, and tapped him in the side with his boot. Joseph said some things, but Innocent didn’t listen to them. There were more footsteps, and more figures appeared around him. Sam and Zas grabbed his shoulders and stood him up, saying more things. Innocent didn’t care. When Lorien arrived, and tried to slap life into him, he ignored them. Finally, they gave up in disgust, and he was shoved backwards. His bare feet went cold again, as they brushed against the cold Silver. But they were warm when compared to Kelen’s grasp. For the first time in nearly two weeks, Innocent smiled, because finally, things felt right. ---------------------------------------------------------- Exisa smiled as he walked. The Safehouse was far behind him, it’s shades and murderers far away from him. None of them would find the tunnel he had dug to escape, he was sure. So he was safe. Feruchemy really made tunneling easy. He wished he could go faster, Tap steel and by leagues away by daybreak. But it was still night time, so he couldn’t. He walked as quickly as he dared though. His feet crunching the leaves and branches underfoot were the only noises he heard. The Forests of Hell were so much quieter than those of Scadrial. “Too Quiet” Exisa nodded along. It was suspiciously quiet. Wait, what? He pivoted on one foot, lashing out with a pewter enhanced blow, but hit nothing. No one was there. Who had spoken? “Tsk, tsk. Always too slow Brother.” Exisa felt his blood run cold as he recognized the voice. He slowly turned around to see his twin brother, Seixa. “Miss me?” Seixa spread his arms out wide, as if offering a hug. Exisa flared steel and throw coins at him. Seixa twirled to the side, dodging them completely. Exisa grabbed a full vial off his belt, ripped out the cork and downed the whole thing. He flared pewter, steel, tin and Copper. He dipped his hands into his pockets, sliding metalminds onto his fingers. He tapped steel, pewter, tin and bronze. Seixa grinned at him. “Catch me if you can slowpoke” Seixa took of like a bullet, and Exisa was right behind him, tapping steel and flaring pewter. Storing Iron and tapping Zinc. The trees blurred by as he raced after his brother. Blacks and greens and browns and reds blurring by. Reds? “There are three simple rules to follow if you want to survive the Forests of Hell Brother. Don’t kindle flame, don’t shed the blood of another,” Exisa slowed down and he realized what his twin had done. “And don’t, run, AT NIGHT!” The forest was red with shades surrounding him. Seixa cackled as Exisa stopped burning, tapping and storing, and slowly pivoted, trying to find a way out. There was none. Nor did he have any Silver, but, did they know that? As the Shades got closer, he grabbed his jacket and ripped off completely, revealing dozens of spikes piercing his flesh. The Shades shied back from the metal. “Ha! Can’t touch this!” “Oh please. You’re not stupid Exisa. Even I can admit that.” Seixa floated around him in a quick circle. “Silver isn’t allomantic. If any of those were silver, you’d be dead.” The Shades all perked up, and began to tighten their circle again. “Get him boys.” Exisa screamed as the Shades covered hum, buried him in darkness. He screamed as his flesh fell apart to ash, the Spikes falling to the ground. “Tsk, tsk, if only you weren’t so proficient at Hemalurgy. Goodbye brother.” Amanuensis was lynched! He was a Mutineer! phattemer was killed! He was a Crewmember! Vote Tally: Conquestor(1): The Young Bard zas678(1): Bugsy6912 Amanuensis(4): Conquestor, zas678, The Only Joe, Sart
  7. You are not told who the shades targeted. Greening out old votes would be preferred. Some players did not start with items, so that might hurt your strategy a bit.
  8. *is flooded by thirty-something PMs* I'll be fine. Probably. Edit: Items used do disappear from the game, and every player has only 1 action. Silver Powder usage doesn't count as an action.
  9. I just got back too! How was your girls camp?
  10. Cycle 1 Kelen Tadar tried to tell himself it was the cold caused by the Shades that was making him shiver, not the fear of them. But he was afraid, and he knew it. Everyone was. They were trapped by a swarm of Shades, more than he had ever seen at once. The only thing holding them back was the circle of silver that wrapped around the Safehouse. They were trapped in the safehouse, but he didn’t think they were very safe. He didn’t know what had happened but he knew that Jack had been murdered, and that the murderers had survived. He carefully surveyed the room, watching the various groups of people whispering in corners. All of them knew the score, just like he did. They were trapped here until the Shades left. Starting to feel uncomfortable, and chilly, he stood up from his seat and left the building. He could feel the eyes drilling into his back as he let the door swing shut behind him, leaving him alone outside, with naught but a silver line in the ground between him and the Shades. It was almost peaceful. Kelen stuck his hands in his pockets, and trudged around the safehouse, trying to ignore the chill in the air. “. . . do now?’ He perked up at the sound of a whispered voice, and hurried to the corner of the building. He pressed his back against the wall and kept listening. “. . . the Shades?” “I don’t. . .” “Bloody night. . . fire distract them?” “We killed. . . Jack, we can. . . this.” Kelen shivered again, and not from the cold or fear this time. It was the mutineers, just around the corner. He had found them. The Mutineers were just around the corner. If he could get a glance at their faces to see who they were, he could reveal them to the others. The Shades would take them, and, hopefully, be satisfied. He slowly, ever so slowly, inched his head around the corner. “Hey!” Quicker than thought, a hand shot out and grabbed his hair, jerking him around the corner and throwing him to the ground in the middle of the group. A Boot stepped down on his back, driving the breath from his lungs before he could yell for help. “Empty Night! Did he hear us?” “Obviously he did! What do we do with him?” “We can’t let him go, he’d reveal us.” There was a dreadful pause, broken only by Kelen dragging in a ragged breath. He knew exactly what decision they would come to. “Maybe, if we throw him to the shades, they’ll leave us alone?” Oh Shadows no, please no. “Do it.” Rough hands grabbed his shoulder, and another covered his mouth as he was dragged to his feet. He writhed in their grip, trying to break free, but they held tight. He was carried unceremoniously to the circle of Silver, and stood upright, facing the dark mass of black and red. “Goodbye Mr. Tadar. Try to calm them down for us.” A simple shove, and he was across the line. His skin went cold, then numb as the Shades grasped it. He could feel his body falling apart, falling into Shadow. Everything went black. And then Red. Kelen Tadar (AliasSheep) died! He was a spectator! Cycle will end at 8pm EST. Sorry for the late start, took a bit longer than expected to set everything up. PMs will go out soon. Player list: Also, all upvotes for the awesome writeups go to Joe, not me.
  11. Don’t Kindle Flames. Don’t run at Night. Don’t shed the Blood of another. Three simple rules keep a man safe from Shades in the Forests of Hell. But so easy to break. Blood was spilt when the Mutineers killed Montgomery Jack and tried to take his place. Flame was kindled when you set their tent on fire to avenge your crew leader. And everyone broke the second rule when the Shades came. Red eyes glowed behind you as you ran, desperate to survive. You got lucky, arriving behind the protective silver circle of the safehouse before they caught you. Others weren’t so lucky. Of the nearly hundred men and women of Montgomery's crew, only a few dozen made it safely. But the Shades are still there, just beyond the silver. You recognize them. Wilim the Eager, who once taught you had to make traps, Aoran the Doctor, who once saved your life in a raid gone wrong. Tryel the Herbalist, famous for his fireless meals. All once friends, taken by the Shades. All of them with eyes glowing Red, wishing to avenge their fallen leader. You can’t escape until the mutineers are gone. But which of your friends are loyal, and which are traitors? ------------------------------------------ Hello all! This will be my first time GMing an SE game, so hopefully this goes well. Also, big thanks to Joe for writing the write-ups. Gameplay: There are two groups; the Loyal Crewmembers, and the Mutineers. The win conditions are pretty basic, the Mutineers are trying to outnumber the Crewmembers, and the Crewmembers are trying to kill the Mutineers. The game consists of combined day/night cycles, consisting of 24 hours. The twist for this game is the role of deceased players. When killed, a player becomes a shade. Each cycle, they can collectively inspect a single player by majority vote. If the player uses a kill action, eliminator or not, the player is killed by the shades. The victim of the inspected kill action is still dead. Sorry. If the shades are indecisive and can't reach a majority, then nothing happens. Every player starts out with a limited number of items. As an action each cycle, a player can either use an item or give it to another living player. All items can only be used once. Items carried by dead players are distributed randomly. What items the deceased had will not be made public. Not all players will start with an item. Items: Knife: Used to kill a player once. Cannot be used simultaneously with a Mutineer kill. Silver Powder: If carried, player is immune to shade kills. Only consumed if the player is inspected during a kill. Intoxicant: Used to change a player's vote. Order of Deaths: Eliminator -> Lynch -> Knife -> Shade Signups end 8pm EST June 11th. Quick Links:
  12. Shades have to have a majority vote, and dead eliminators cannot vote, but are allowed in the dead doc. The dead eliminators cannot just reveal the rest of the eliminators to the shades. Eliminators cannot use an item and make an eliminator kill. Not all players will start with an item. Help with the write-ups would absolutely be appreciated. Elbereth is welcome to help as well. If a majority is not reached, nothing happens. Shade kill occurs after the other kills; if the target had used a kill action this cycle, they are now dead.
