  1. I tried Brett once, but somehow I didn't come past the first chapters of the warded man (or how is it called again?). Always thought it was the standard post-WoT epic fantasy trope with a farmer boy who discovers that he is some kind of lost heir/ promised saviour / chosen one in a more or less typical fantasy world. Is that belief unjustified?
  2. Yesterday (15.06.2017) the 4th and 5th draft of Oathbringer were at 96% progress. Today (16.06.2017) copyedit review is at 67%. Strikes me as incredibly fast. How does he do it...?
  3. Trapper name: First of the Snowstorm Vorin: Jezerehdin (Following the Kaladin-Pattern, meaning something like "born through Jezerezeh". My real name means "defender of men", and Jezrien being the Herald of protection the combination seems fitting) Unkalaki: Sharamunukiwarumi'managionolamok (Whatever, don't know the language) Korathi: Aredo (I love that it could be writen two ways. ARE-do as in Unity, Cohesion or ar-EDO, as in Protection. However, I lean toward ar-EDO, because of the protection theme of my name). Returned: Longspeaker the Raretalking (or something like that. I speak seldom, but then long and without punctuation) Threnodite: Asylum Parable. Kandra: FabEll (close to my surname) Edit: I forgot Shin: Alexander-son-Frank
  4. Good point, but I disagree. I think that in Cognitive mechanics spikes are not a part of the Inquisitor: if you remove one spike from the inquisitor (without killing him or her) it is still a hemalurgic spike. If you remove an arm from an Inquisitor (also without killing him or her) it would now be a dead arm. In one situation the cognitive identity is preserved, in the other it is changed.
  5. Well, metal poisoning is also a problem I did not think abouzt, but a full feruchemist could conteract it; however I think to see something both as a metalmind and part of your boidy will not work well, because cognitively a metalmind might be necessarily a singular entity. If indeed possible, the interactions between invested parts of your body and ironstoring might be interesting at least.
  6. There might be a solution for Ironflying, which I personally do not support, but that could be true. It works on the following known mechanics: 1) a mistborn can burn even things thazt are not technically in their digestive tract, but in other places too (there was an example about accidentally burning a copper IUD) 2) a feruchemist can in general use swallowed metalminds; i conclude that an IUD could be used as a coppermind. I follow with the assumption that somebody, if crazy enough, could burn metallic implants (like bone-fixing screws), or use them as metalminds. I also assume that you could see implants as part of you, given the right mindframe (unluckily, that means that neither gold nor stormlight will heal the injury that made them necessary). Here comes the interesting point: If you see an iron implant as a part of yourself - could you see it as a feruchemical storage, too? My intuition says no, but if so, you could get an ironmind that, when storing weight stores its own weight and therefore weights nothing - like your whole body.
  7. Being a german-russian "halfblood" with roots that go back from French hugenottes to German robber barons to Russian peasants to Mongolian and/or Tatarian raiders it is really strange how usual I look in almost every part of eastern and middle Europe. Depending on country medium to notably, but not much below medium height, pretty average bodyshape, neither strong nor slim. Somewhat awkward movements. I guess it's the reason why some people consider me to be like 17 years old (I'm 22). Relatively bright, but not pale skin. Brown, curly, shoulder-long hair that i usually wear in a ponytail (else it looks like a mix of a haystack and a bird's nest). Dark brown eyes with the hint of an epiphantic fold. Straight nose. "Perfect eyebrows" (here I'm quoting my sister, I guess she might have some merit on that topic). On the other hand, the poor excuse of a beard that tries to grow on my chin is ridiculous. It grows on some spots, while it does not on others, some hairs are almost black, some are almost white, and all are itchy. I also can't speak a single language without accent. Edit: my eyes also seem to get bloodshot sometimes and for no reason at all (on one occasion the police asked me if I smoked weed while driving).
  8. It's implied ovet and over again, starting from wok prologue. It was also not necessary about Surgebinders returning, but Voidbringers.
  9. I speculatively doubt that the Aimians were the enemies there. Aimia was one of the Silver Kingdoms, and we know that Alethela was the Kingdom that trained most of the warriors of the silver Kingdoms, implyng a close collaboration between all of them. In my understanding, the Silver Kingdoms did not dissemble long before the Sunmaker's time - likely less than thousand years or so, because even less educated peoples like the Purelakers remember them at this time. Given that it might be that the Kingdoms dissembled after the fall of the Radiants, when there was no International Organization to enforce cooperation.
  10. I know. Anyway, strategically used you can cover a lot of nakedness with them, what I often saw done by other means.
  11. Less romantic variation of the same problem: khriss and nazh had a business relationship for at least 300 years from secret history (earliest confirmed spotting) till BoM (latest confirmed spotting). Likely they work together much longer (nazh wrote on the leatherbound edition elantris map). How do they suffer that for that long seems strange. I had problems with my boss even after several months.
  12. Actually, in Manga the painter can use passionspren carefully to cover certain areas, making the pictures slightly less NSFW.
  13. For me she didn't even read like 16 at the beginning . Well done.
  14. Wasn't there something about Vin being 14 at the beginnig of TFE?
  15. The more i read this, the more it seems a standard fighting area is needed, as well as a carefull description what equipment exactly the combatants need to have. In any other situation any sharder might think 10 scenarios victorious for each of the opponents.
  16. I don't have the acess at home, but at work and in university, so it's most likely something about my router or so. Unfortunately work and university are not the usual place to search WoBs.
  17. I like this Idea. For some reason I can't access Theoryland (Error 403: Bad Gateway), so I'm kind of several years behind on WoB.
  18. Might be. Though, in my opinion there might be more behind it, because the God-metals work fundamentally different from the usual ones, while adhesion and progression seem to be more like a part of the surge-wheel.
  19. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I think I remember that BS implied that there might be some kind of God-metal equivalent on Roshar, although iirc it was "not what we think it is". (there was something about "God surges" somewhere) Anyway, whatever it is, it might be a very strong equalizer.
  20. Absolutely impressive! Upvote. Wouild give two if able. Noticed a small (not really important) part: wasn't there something regarding an aluminium (or however it is called in the Rosean Empire) wall behind the stones?
  21. As I said - the radiants would not be happy. But shardblades given to friends for a battle aren't unheard of. If power is affected, however, might create greater problems with gravitation failing at 200 feet above ground.
