  1. I think Vin wins. 1. Vin sounds a lot like win, so Vin for the win, if this makes sense. 2. If this does not make sense, allomancy is much more combat-orientated than awakening. 3. My personal and probably wrong theory (fabricated now) is, that awakening is disabled inside a coppercloud. Or, better told, the connection between the awakener and the awakened object, which means, awakened objects can be inside of it, but no new could be created. 4. Vin is a killer. Susebron is not.
  2. And Jezrien/Jezerezeh/Yaezir does not stop sullying. Poor guy. At least one of the other two male Heralds (presumably Kalak/Kelek) has problems with Szeth wielding an honorblade.I agree to around 95% with this attitude.
  3. Whoever SHE is (Nightwatcher or Cultivation or the God beyond knows who), SHE is pictured as Vorin with freehand and safehand. That alone is storming interesting, we know, that Vorinism is centered around Honor, and Cultivation has more influence in the western parts. Probably the relatively rigid Vorin church will consider almost heretical... on the other hand, they consider everything that is not usual as almost heretical.
  4. There are WoB that Adolin and Renarin are both Dalinar's legitimate sons, implying both are from Shshsh (and Dalinar was not married twice). Also with the Note "Good question" from Brandon, IIRC. As for her mentioned randomly: there are very few Alethi Lighteyes (except Gavilar) about whom somebody talked after their death. I think Shshshsh's real name could have been mentioned, but I don't believe it was.
  5. Probably I'll try to write a Nicrosil Shakespeareesque tragedy... can't be much more difficult than Stormlight Shakespeare style.
  6. What happens if two Nicrosil allomants are bursting each other?
  7. What for Odium's sake are fezzes?
  8. Random thought: Why am I reading this Random Stuff?
  9. As far as I recall how awakening works, this will end in an incredible frigid honorblade
  10. Pure awesomeness? Sounds interesting. I'm tempted. Thinking: what is the hook here? Are there more recruiters for different societies?
  11. Spiked cookie?
  12. Some of you have seen me posting on different topics - mostly on Stormlight Archive etcetera. I am Alfa (or Alex in real life) and am a guy from Berlin, Germany. The first book I read from Sanderson was Alcatraz 2; followed by Alcatraz 1, followed by Elantris, the Stormlight Archive and those followed by Mistborn and almost everything else in random order.Actually reading the wheel of time. I believe that Stormlight is one of the best fantasy worlds in recorded literature history and the sanderson magic investiture systems are not only unique, but better thought through than most other.
  13. Kill harmony and absorb his power. Spike somebody. Give the hemalurgic spike to your friend. Now you can hear his/her thoughts ans speak to him/her. Cheaper than mobile phones.
  14. Granted. Horneater food, of course. There is no other good food. I wish for Ragnarök to come. NOW. Edit: Probably herdazian food. I don't know.
  15. Literally or metaphorically speaking? Or both?
  16. Granted. Two inquisitors are searching for you. I wish my sapling to be fully "growable".
  17. On the other hand, there really are some weird microbs that live on H2S instead of H2O. Volcanic activity can even provide energy for life. I'll say the odds are 1:1 if there is life outside of earth in the solar system.
  18. Microbic life on Mars would be damnation-storming cool, even if I have no idea, how microbs could survive without a magnetic field around their planet. As far as i read, this water dissolves after some minutes, so I will stay "carefully optimistic". In my opinion the "hottest" candidate for life in our solar systems is one of the bigger moons of Jupiter (Io, IIRC); because it has fluid water inside protected by around 10 kilometers of ice; secure from UV and radioctive radiation; only there is not much of an energy source in this case. Hopefully they will show results in our lifetime.
  19. I had a dream a year ago or so. I dreamt of a city in the clouds. I never knew where it was, and why it was there. I only knew it was. The city was hanging in the air and it was built between the wings of giant angel statues. Each statue had a name after an Ideal and there were seven of them, in that order, clockwise if you look from above: Liberty, Love, Hope, Wisdom, Justice, Courage and Honor. Two things were wrong with this city: first, it was broken in two parts. The statues of Wisdom and Justice were broken away, and the part of the city on their wings was hanging in the air some hundred meters away. This part was uninhabited. Second, the statue of Liberty was turned with its back to the city for some unknown reason (the others were looking at it) and now beared the name Anarchy. This is all the dream told me (or else I have forgotten it). All I know is, that the angel statues had a heavy ifluence on the life in the city, but I have no idea how it manifestated. The dream was so vivid, that I am sure it would be a great setting for a story. So let's make an experiment. Everybody can write anything about this setting below it. Ideas, rules, short storys, city laws and the Stormfather and Calamity alone know what else. Only rule: do not contradict directly anything written before by anybody; but everything could be discussed (and changed afterwards). We'll try to stay consistent. Some inspiration questions: - Why is this city there? Is there anything below/above/around? - How and why was it broken and how and why was Liberty turned around? - What is the name of the city? - Who lives there? - Is there anything like magic? (Somehow the city must hang in the clouds, but else?) - How life is organized? (I have absolutely no idea where they get their food, for example)
  20. Granted. You have also a head attached to each foot. And yes, they are individuals, and also yes, they argue to each other. Ignoring you half of the time. They also have a different sleep-wake-cycle then you. I wish for a sapling of Yggdrasil.
  21. I mean, "Tranquiline Halls" could be a poetic name for a hospital, but this does not seem to be the Idea behind it.
  22. I always thought it is par-SHEN-di, but we do not know how Alethi (aside A-le-thi or a-LE-thi or a-le-THI?) pronounce anything.
  23. I'm terrible at designing MTG cards (yet), but I think there shoul be Hoid as a planeswalker with all kinds of random effects (and other Worldhoppers as planeswalkers too)
  24. Why is Marsh always so sarcastic? Because he loves to ironeyes.
  25. Shakespeare Szene: Kaladin (in clothes that more resemble 16th century british clothes than bridgeman uniform), at his feet dying Maps (clothed similar, but with less gold to make sure nobody mistakes him for bridge captain) with a spear of an arrow (to make sure people see how maps died) in him; background: a painting of the shattered plains with the alethi warcamps on the left and Narak on the right with two chasmfiends in between. Syl: A girl in a long blue and white dress in the background, stands on a ladder to show that she is flying. (Szene-sized) Bridge and up to four bridgemen around it. Maps: This wondrous world was shattered! And rocks, oh rocks! rocks! rocks! they trembled with their stepping! and stones to heavens reached! from cursed lands! And death! and death comes upon us! (dies) Kaladin He died! Another friend has passed. No honor left! Oh cruel world! And I am cursed! (Monologue over several pages with the three previous lines as a brief summary; also including half of his back-story, two flashbacks, his hate to lighteyes, something about Tiens death and a vengeance promise to Amaram) I blame Sadeas! Syl Be silent! There he comes! Kaladin, Bridgemen (with bridge) and Syl leaving, Sadeas and Dalinar coming. Both wearing Paper-Shardplate, Dalinar with a massive Shardblade behind his back, Sadeas with a big gemheart in his hands. Both followed by their armies, Adolin in the background. Sadeas We shattered them. The day is ours! So let us have a feast for victory and glory! Dalinar So many dead. I ask thee, my dear friend, is this war worth this many losses? Sadeas Men always die in war. And dont forget thy brother's death! The murderer was sent by them! Doest thou forget what sworn we us then in his blood? We sworn, that we will fight until no Parshendi will live to kill his son! Dalinar And still. We fight now for so long And victory is far,we are divided. The way of Kings... Sadeas ...don't name this book. Thy brother lost his will while reading it The blackthorn shall not follow him. NOTE: Parshendi has to be pronounced lik par-shen-DI to fit in.
