  1. Was Iyatil expelled from the 17th Shard or did she leave for her own reasons?
  2. We can go a step further, in this WOB Brandon confirms that Taln did have his Honorblade:
  3. A good point. After a little more thought, I'd have to agree with this. [I think it is time for more coffee, my brain is working at like 16% at the moment...]
  4. Seeing as Ash refers to Hoid as Midius I would guess they are originally Yolish.
  5. I do commercial quoting for large plumbing job sites (hotels, school, military bases, hospitals, etc.). Basically, I scour through architectural drawings and quote what will be needed for the job.
  6. Just a note on this, I'm like 97.3424452% sure there is a WOB that says Hoid was offered Endowment but declined. Edit: I found this, but this is not the WOB I was thinking of...
  7. This seems unlikely to me as the sphere itself is very likely a perfect gem and therefore it is what would be binding the Spren/Unmade. Personally, I think that the people who believe the chain is Dragonsteel are probably correct.
  8. TFE: He is the begger named "Hoid" that Kelsier meets with. WOA: He helps the Terris refugees and his foot prints are seen near the Well of Ascension (although I think this may have been retroactively changed). HoA: He is the informant that Vin gets spooked away from meeting with (See Secret History for why she is spooked, @Weltall explains this well in the next post). AOL: He is the scruffy beggar at the wedding the Vanisher's appear at. SOS: He is the coachman named "Hoid" BOM: He is the beggar in New Seran named "Hoid" that throw the Coppermind coin at Wax.
  9. It seems much more likely that the heartbeat she is feeling is coming from the Unmade Ashertmarn - The Heart of the Revel. Ashertmarn is in Kholinar at the same time and is literally described as looking like a beating heart... I would guess that the Sibling is the Spren of Urithiru and it is dormant there.
  10. Brandon is definitely fond of misdirection in his answers and if you give him wiggle room with your questions he will take it, but I can't think of a time where he has directly answered a question and lied. As he has directly stated it (several times), you can take it at face value that the Reckonersverse is in no way part of the Cosmere. As for wanting another book, I feel your pain.
  11. Autonomy: I'm having trouble finding the WOB for the first letter but here are some of the context clues: This wouldn't make sense coming from a Shard who is on a Bi-Shardic world. We know via WOB that we had seen the world of the 1st letter, this narrows it down quite a bit, the only worlds we have seen that only have 1 Shard are Nalthis and Taldain. The first letter cannot be Autonomy as the second letter clearly is. The references to 'Seeking the waters and facing our test' in the 2nd letter is a pretty clear reference to Patji. Also the reference to a new avatar forming on Obradai is a pretty clear reference to Autonomy as Brandon has confirmed more than once that Autonomy has many personalities/avatars/etc.
  12. Via WOBs and context we know the 3rd Letter is Edgli (Endowment) and the Fourth is Bavadin (Autonomy), the other three you are correct about.
  13. Fair enough, how about "It's about Eshonai/Venli and I WANT it to be about Eshonai/Venli". Why you may ask? Because a main POV Listener means we will likely have way more Odium screen time. I don't want more Odium screen time, I NEED more Odium screen time.
  14. Eshonai was always intended to be book 4, (3 and 5 got flipped). As for Eshonai being dead, yes, she is. Brandon has said for years that it was possible for a Flashback character to be dead during their book. I suspect the present story will focus on Venli while the flashbacks will all be Eshonai.
  15. Well, the two stories are almost completely unrelated. Without Cosmeric knowledge you probably wouldn't even know the stories take place on the same world, unless you picked up on the one line about Jindoese people, the Gyorn, or the similarities between Soul Stamps and Aons (which without Cosmeric knowledge ends at "they are both pictographs"). Yes, the examples are both from books on Sel but they most certainly would qualify as easter eggs...
  16. While escaping the Palace at the end of The Emperor's Soul Shai passes a Derethi Gyorn. Also, to add to @Pagerunner's list of issues: We know that Red in the Cosmere implies that a Shard is co-opting the Investiture of another Shard. It seems much more likely that the Red-Eyed Faceless immortals are actually Kandra whom's Spikes are made with another Shard's metal [I would guess Autonomy based on context].
  17. Good catch Bort, this is indeed correct. If I'm being completely honest this would fall into the "old news" category, but still, good catch.
  18. With that said, I'm about 93.158583% sure that there was a WoB from a few years ago (although I can't find it for the life of me...) where Brandon confirmed that a Hemalurgic Spike made of Atium could be used to steal any attribute if you knew what you were doing.
  19. I'm moderately sure that I've read a WoB where Brandon confirmed Iyatil is from Silverlight. I'm trying to track it down now and will add it when I find it. Edit, Here it is:
  20. Possibly my favorite quote in anything Brandon has ever written, never mind quotes by Hoid specifically or even in the Cosmere:
  21. It doesn't...? It is a direct parallel to Szeth killing due to his Truthless nature and then realizing that he was never Truthless so the murders were his responsibility all along. Edit: After some more thought, there is some parallel between the Emperor and Honor being dead but it more or less ends there. It is a loose parallel. Realistically the Knights themselves knew that Honor was dead as basically any of their Spren could tell them that... The Szeth parallel is much more of a 1 to 1 correlation. @Blazenella: Take a closer look at the descriptions of the blades from the Kholinar scene in WoK and the blade that Dalinar bonded and then released after Bonding the Stormfather. Dalinar never had Taln's Honorblade. As for something I missed the first time around: The Sergeant who stops Shallan when she is infiltrating Amaram's manor while disguised as a messenger is Hav, the Sergeant who trained Kaladin in Amaram's army.
  22. First, welcome to Shard, have an upvote. I was a Wheel of Time convert as well. I'd recommend going with Arcanum Unbounded next. Brandon's short stories are some of his best work. Also it is a really good way to get a better feel for the Cosmere as a whole rather than just the individual stories of each series.
