  1. I am thinking about what explicit clues were left about the future books in OB. And the one that comes to mind is Odium’s question to Mr T. “What can you tell me about the tower?” So, an attack on Urithiru clearly on Odium’s mind.
  2. Honor also tells Dalinar to read the book. Dalinar asks if it is the in-book Way of Kings, but never gets an answer as the vision finishes.
  3. Well, across the 10 book arc, there are 5 main male and 5 female characters. Even between radiants, it’s 50-50... so BS is keeping it pretty gender balanced by the ruler.
  4. I think this is a good time to start talking about the next two books. The name Stones Unhallowed is the working title for book 5. I’ve speculated in the past about the Prologue chapters as well. BS has said he’s drafting up the outline for book 4 and 5 next year prior to writing book 4 in 2019. BS has also said he’s drated the epilogue of Book 5. Here’s my theory. Book 4 delayed till 2022, but the gap between book 4 and 5 might be just 1 year, ie 2023. Now, BS did write BoM in Mistborn prior to finishing Shadows of Self. So, book 4 is very much like Shadows of Self - that it is a set up book for book 5. I kept thinking OB might setting up more as well. But, I felt less setup in OB and the ending felt a bit rushed. So, book 4 might be a total set up for book 5 as compensation. Knowing BS’s books, I think BS might want to be more epic than anything else. So, book 4 and 5 to be practically written in concert together, except Stones Unhallowed to be more like 70% (eg missing interludes, art etc). Which means just a 1 year lag between book 4 and Stones Unhallowed! What are your book 4 & 5 theories?
  5. Audiobook.... it picks up where you left off. I add bookmarks for memorable quotes though.
  6. I’ll add fuel to the theory that Shallan will blame herself for Adolin’s death, should it happen.
  7. I think we need a buddy in there as well... Then we have a buddy...trip...pet (Cri Cri) trifecta in a fantasy novel. (all in good humor)
  8. More... A very foreshadowing chapter 64 - “Binder of Gods”
  9. Thanks... you can be the new Arcanum expert. I looked for it but obviously didn’t use the right keywords....
  10. True, and thanks for the quotes. I agree that the heralds are a possibility. I am 50-50 on whether it will be book 4 or a later book, eg book 6. See, here I get into a tricky spot. I don’t know whether the prologues for book 6-10 will continue on the same night or be completely different. There is a WoB that book 6-10 would be more about the Heralds, so I’ve wondered if book 6 prologues might be more about Heralds... and thus they might be held back until later. But implicit assumption can be incorrect that book 6-10 will still focus on that night. Or BS says... stuff it, let’s just go with the Heralds in book 4 prologue.
  11. I really like Elhokar as a choice for book 4. The Heralds may have been visiting Jezerien who seemed to live next door to the Kholinar palace (and was also in the WoK Szeth prologue). To an extent I’ve chosen Venli because BS seems to be balancing the genders out. If Book 5 is who I say it would be, then book 4 might be a female to give the prologues a 3-2 female/male ratio. But yeah, I wouldn’t be extremely surprised if it turned out to be Dalinar or Elhokar.
  12. Who do you think will be the book 4 and 5's prologue characters? I am choosing, "Other" for book 5 because I didn't want to put my response up as an option...coz I think even contemplating it is spoilery. But who I've chosen is.... for book 5, and Venli for Book 4. If you pick other, do discuss who you think it might be...
  13. There's 2 suspicious characters that we can think about... The large figure who walks during the storms - see multiple references in WoR and the Dalinar dinner flashback in Oathbringer The third image of the man with the blue disc that Shallan discovered in the underground library. The other two images were of Honor and Cultivation.
  14. Ugh... I had to stop listening and come and post this. Sja-anat is pronounced Ja—a-naat in the audiobook. The sia-naat pronounciation does not fit! and give Jebus a turn to speak (sorry, but unabashed fan)! Edit: Kerry - you can get a job as a cat herder Edit2: Amaram is pronounced Ema(-)ram in the audiobook
  15. Found another one. A very slight one. In the Aharetium vision (chapter 38), at the end of the vision where Dalinar is standing at the circle of honorblades, he is acting as a shin fighter. And, another shin man comes, bowes in front of the blades and starts speaking Honor’s words. In effect, it highlights that shin saw the honorblades after they were abandoned. I don’t think Dalinar picked the significance, but again it is foreshadowing the honorblades ending up with the shin.
  16. I am still in part 1 of Oathbringer re-read and there's so much in-book foreshadowing. It's like BS is poking fun... Navani to Dalinar - Shallan to Adolin Have picked any other...?
  17. I posted the above in the book reactions thread... Also going through re-reads right now and Azir's communication with Dalinar notes kinship as both have had royal people killed by Assassin in White. And here we have Szeth running around as guard to Dalinar... http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/62339-ob-full-book-reactions-full-spoilers-thread/?page=18#comment-638874
  18. Maybe you are talking about the audible app’s single file download vs multi-part download option? A lot of people download the multi part way to make the full download more managable. Kingkiller chronicle was 2 audible credit purchase for me for one of the books. Audible do implement US vs International geo-selection and pricing for books on audible.com
  19. I think the whole book was such a big deal. I am starting again and still in Part 1 (my commute is shorter now so I have 10-15 minutes to listen each day). Part 1 is so overanalysed already that I’ve skipped chapters there. When I heard it, there was even a point when Michael went to the wrong pronounciation of Nale (ie Nal-lay rather than Nail). It was jarring. Thankfully he corrected later on. Again, I love their stuff overall. But this project was just very big to not have minor errors. I think BS should split it in 2 audible credit portions like Kingkiller is - just so that more resources can be put to quality assurance.
  20. Always quality... love it.
  21. Ok.. one issue that I found with the audiobook was the part split by Audible. For big books like this one, I downloaded in parts. So, 5 parts of audiobook download - BUT, they don’t align with the end of EACH PART. So, I’d reach the end of the audiobook part, and Audible would go, “you’ve reached the end of the part”. So, I’d rush in to comment on the part only to be spoiled / realise that I had only reached the end of the audio part but not the end of the book. Next time Audible should align book ends and audio parts for SA books!
  22. No crying in this book, but red eyed with the Shallan-Adolin scene just before Kaladin starts summoning windspren in Shadesmar.
  23. Well - it was a vision of a scene that happened near Feverstone Keep. Feverstone Keep got another mention in one of the epigraphs, so it's not an unimportant place. Also, another scene mentions the scene just after the Heralds swords are abandoned... and it seemed a faithful representation of the scene after the Prologue from WoK.
