So as not to derail the thread entirely I'll link to where I explained to Quiver what Scroungers is (Here, and here). Long story short, it's a story set in the Pacific Rim universe that I write with a group of people who are all awesome. I am completely obsessed with it and if you read Scroungers you instantly become one of my favorite people ever. If you liveblog and/or discuss Scroungers with me, you and I become eternal best friends and I will love you forever. ...which is why this whole betrayer!Quiver thing is so amusing. Because Quiver's one of the best Scrounger livebloggers I've got and he's and I are tight. Quiver's awesome and like one of my favorite people ever. Discussing Scroungers should probably go in that fanfic fanclub thread though, which has kinda turned into the 'talk about Scroungers' thread. I would say sorry for de-railing the topic with Scrounger talk, but I've gotten used to the fact that in any given conversation over the last year, I will inevitably talk about Sydney Scroungers at least once usually.

I think it's a matter of emphasis rather than syllable number, actually. I tend to say "a-LETH-kar" but the way the poem went, it ended up as "A-leth-KAR".

You end up copying yourself and then someone steals a giant robot and you have to go on the run and then two of your doubles fall in love with each other and it's all just a big mess. *eyes the cup* I'm a coffee girl, myself. However I've come to make a clarification. Shroom is not to be harmed by any hand but mine. We are kismeses and kismeses do not share. It is a very complicated sort of rivalry. I extend no protection for his followers, however foolish they may be, but the only person who is allowed to go after Shroom himself is me.

Well, I'm kind of constantly at bickery war with Shroom, but that's my own thing. IDK what's going on with our factions. Maybe they are fighting each other? So long as nobody touches the kerjish fungus but me, we're all good.

I suppose I'll pull out a character I haven't used for a while and see how she works in here. For the sake of the game, call me Lyla.

A warm desert wind howls through the hall, coalesceing into a darkness in the middle of the court. The shadows unfold like an enormous pair of wings, revealing a figure clad in black and teal, blonde hair pinned back, and a devious smile upon her face. She turns in a slow circle, regarding the other members in the room with a calm collectedness. "Look at all of the fun events I miss while I'm not paying attention," she says. She turns back to the throne, sweeping an elaborate curtsy, though whether the gesture is sincere or mocking, it's difficult to tell. "Good evening, your majesty. I hope that my followers have not been causing you too much trouble. I was unware of their activities here, as it seems they did not remember to inform me of this excursion." She spares a glance for the amassed Featherblades. "I do not give them orders, nor do I claim leadership over them. Their services to me are entirely voluntary and of their own volition. I did not seek an army, yet their dedication is admiarble and... useful." She turns back to the icy queen, taking slow, deliberate steps forward. "I see you have wished to speak with me. Seeing as no one mentioned Renarin, this meeting slipped beneath my gaze. I am here now, however, and curious as to how this will proceed." With a sudden smirk, she looks towards the 'traitor', tipping her head in a quick nod of acknowledgement. "Qu'est-ce que 'sup, Quiv?"

*malevolent cackling* Oh how little they know. Just how nigh the end already is!

Attention Featherblades. I return with things. Specifically crossover sad things. See, there was a long discussion about MCU characters in the Stormlight Archive universe. Twice actually. Once for the Avengers crew, and once for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. bunch. But Kogi suggested that we have the Stormlight characters in the MCU. The Nine/Realms and Asgard specifically. So... Asgardian!Kholin family. Grumpy Vanir bodyguard Kaladin. Midgardian Shallan who visits Asgard to meet Jasnah's family. It can be read as Shasnah, but if you don't like Shasnah you can also read it platonically. I'm not exactly a Shasnah shipper, but I gave it a shot. *shakes head sadly* I give Quiver secret access to unpublished Sydney Scroungers scenes and this is how I am repaid? Quiver, you're lucky you're awesome. Otherwise, you'd be toast. Also, heads up for any who are expecting input from Shroom, he's a chronic lurker and is probably not going to comment or participate again. He thinks 17S is beneath him. Like the kerj he is. He prefers to laugh from afar.

Quiver has my pardon, thanks to his extensive Scrounger reading and responses, which are, of course, the nearest and dearest way to my heart and will guarantee my eternal protection. I do not know of this Elsa Steelheart. I've never met her. Is she cool? I am not the queen of the fandom. I am the fandom monster. So long as I am causing feels and terror, all is well in my domain.

So for the longest time the chat window that we ran that one in was called "Sylvie does dumb things" just because it amused me. I can try to explain. So like Sylvie says, she already sees everything that fiVe and Vee do in the Drift, but normally it feels more like just raw, simple memory streams. To Sylvie, it'd be like watching a security camera feed - expecting a steady, linear stream of information and experience, and instead you get a jumpy edited video with music of the same stuff instead. Which, seeing that inside her head unexpectedly was shocking and nearly threw her into a seirzure (she says, but she probably wasn't actually in any danger, as fiVe knew.) It wasn't so much an actual video as an edited sequence of memories and experiences that Sylvie got dumped on her all at once. And Sylvie is not good with "new" experiences while Drifting. That's kind of her whole thing. As for Vee and fiVe's little scenes, you're right in that they don't have bodies or even really avatars. They're programs, and what it usually consists of is fiVe making edits and corruptions to Vee's programming, slightly simulating her own corruption and damage on Vee - with Vee's consent, of course. Despite the fact that it isn't actually "sexual" (obviously because they don't actually have anatomy with which to do that kind of stuff) it is an intimate experience. Vee letting someone else edit her code, even if they put her back together afterward, is a really strange experience for Sylvie. Sylvie puts up with it, because it's Vee's choice and it is getting fiVe to well, not hate them both, so it's working. But she does know everything that they're doing together because she and Vee are Drift partners and you really can't hide anything in the Drift. Regarding the structure, yeaaaaah, this one's a little weird getting tacked on the end. However, I tend to be a little bit laxer with these Intermission scenes. They're not full sessions, just kind of whatever we need wherever we need it, so I don't really fret about timing and what not. IDK if you're still avoiding tumblr, but if you're not, the Scrounger Ask Blog was kinda set up specifically for that purpose, and we'd love to get questions from you. You don't just have to ask questions to the characters, you're allowed to ask us as players about things as well. If there's anyone you'd like to ask about writing styles or why they do certain things with their characters, we'd love to talk with you!

Kalarin is a very cute pairing. I feel silly for fighting against it for so long.

My problem was that I was being silly and trying to read aloud as I was reading and then funny things happened and I lost it and this friends, is a moral lesson about why you should always have read something first before trying to read aloud. Otherwise you sound like a dork.

So Ellie is writing a coffeeshop AU for Stormlight Archive and I ended up pitching an idea about Renarin being a coffee conoisseur in that universe, since Kaladin runs a bakery over there.
