I will say in the modern-day Scadrial RP campaign, Elendel United over on tumblr, there's a character named Basil Verge who is a Pulser, and he works as a bomb defuser for the EPD. He puts up a bubble around himself and the bomb, giving the people outside more time to evacuate just in case he isn't able to dismantle the bomb. It's a pretty cool way to use Cadmium powers, I think.

I've actually gotten a new microphone since recording these. One of my friends on tumblr, ExMakina (you guys might know her from her awesome cosmere fanart that she draws) ended up buying me a microphone just out of the blue! Maki is the most wonderful person ever, in case you didn't know.

*grumbles at Kobold* I was gunning for that #3 spot too until you kicked me down to 5th. Now Eric's caught up too and I'm sitting down at 6. (Like a G6, like a G6) -

So... would now be a bad time to mention that I was one of the people who originally introduced dear Quiver to MLP? *embarrassed shrug* Quiver, are you forever set to antagonize the Featherblades and the rest of the forums? As for the Cosmere Challenge, that was the one for the month of June. There should be a new one for July coming out soon though. I should pester Silver about that. I think she's the one heading up the Cosmere Challenges. -

There was a cosmere fandom writing challenge this month: "Cosmere Fandom is Still the Worst Fandom". In which the object of the challenge is to write/draw/create the most absolutely heart-wrenching, sob-inducing thing you can think of. Seemed like an appropriate job for the fandom monster, right? For those interested in some of the other entries, I've been reblogging them all with #CFSWF over on Adonalsium. Enter at your own risk... http://adonalsium.tumblr.com/tagged/cfswf -

*clears throat* Well, I'm not saying that Gavin, Ellie, Emma, and I wrote a scene the other night that is supposed to be the prelude to Act 4, but... we may have definitely done that. It was very strange for me, since it was my first time doing GM stuff. I ended up playing a new character (who I knew very little about) and... Mike Stricht. Gavin handled Zhu, was all. Here's to hoping I didn't butcher Mike's character when I played him, but I have a feeling I managed to get a handle on him by the end. Also, dearest followers, there is another fic out by me, but it's not totally finished and it's very short, so I'll refrain from posting the link until I get the full version up. That said, if you're clever, you might be able to find it. -

Well, it seems as though in my absence and my.... not wanting to keep up with the Newcago thread because Harmony dangit you guys post a lot in there and I'm lazy... we have started a war again. I'm gonna have to give Quiver a stern talking to or something over this. And just when we were about to start Scroungers again too. How very rude. -
*takes the Renarin doll and cuddles it* I... actually usually don't take requests for fics, but that's just because I've got too many of my own stories that I'm already not writing. You should go for it, BreathTaker! We need more fic writers around here and I... *looks at stack of unfinished fanfics* *sobs*

I tend to like pronunciation guides, but that's just because I'm both a linguist who likes knowing how to day things, and someone who often reads books aloud. I know I found out that I said most of the Stormlight names incorrectly and I made an effort to change them (as you can hear me struggling with all the way through Splintercast.) I've mostly gotten them correct now, but I swear listening to me swap between AY-doh-lin and AH-doh-lin, or REN-a-rin and ren-AHR-in for the entire book is probably annoying. I like saying things correctly, and I think guides help with that. The way I see it, if you don't care about them, you can ignore them, but for those of us who like canon pronunciations, they're really helpful.

He's the best character in The Way of Kings, you mean. And it seems it's becoming habit around here to attempt to summon me to threads by mentioning him. With which I will, of course, comply, and then use my great and mighty power to light all those who blaspheme against him on fire. Fire makes everything better. It's called Zalgo Text actually, and it's become a mainstay on tumblr at least for things that are demonic or terrifyingly otherworldly. There's a generator for it over here if you'd like to make your own.

I'd imagine it's.... a strange mix of both, to be honest.

Heh, I have too many blogs for my own good. I think at last count it's somewhere around like 10 different things, across three accounts. The main ones are FeatherWriter, RenarinKholin, and Adonalsium though!

Ah, I actually did a little bit of text research on this one for a friend who needed a fanfic reference a while ago. For one, there are alcoholic beverages other than wine on Roshar, it's just that the Alethi like wine a lot. We get mentions of lavis beer, lavis ale, mudbeer, and Horneater lagers (which are apparently powerful enough to melt cups). We also know that there are grapes on Roshar, as multiple characters use metaphors involving them as well as Nohadon, who specifically mentions a plate of grapes in one of his stories. It stands to reason that there are some wines that are made with grapes, the way we make most wine here.

Hey, good to see you around here! I've been reblogging your art to the Adonalsium tumblr, and it's good stuff! (Also your Renarin was adorable, I loved it!)

Your Guide to Getting Into Infinity Blade
FeatherWriter replied to FeatherWriter's topic in Other Stories
Fret not, I didn't end up doing most of the extra stuff in IB2 either. You don't have to in order to play through well. Isa actually has the same three weapon sets as Siris, though hers play a little bit differently. Her Heavy weapons are polearms, her Light weapons are double handed swords mostly, and her Dual weapons are small knives and claws. There's a good demonstration of her fighting style here. Ugh, Heavy weapons are SO HARD to use. I think it's mostly the fact that blocking and dodging work in opposite ways and my muscle memory for dodging gets in the way. I love the Dual weapons honestly, though I tend to use whatever's highest leveled. I'm trying to get Isa to level up a Heavy weapon spear right now and I keep dying so muuuuuuch• -
The Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance, Episode 28: Book Wrap-up
FeatherWriter commented on Chaos's article in Shardcast
Weeeeeelllll... I'm surprised you can't see my reasoning after listening to that since, as I remember I probably babble about it a lot in that recording. But on the off chance that it's still not clicking, there are some text resources of my reasoning as well: Why Renarin is did WAY MORE THAN 'NOTHING' in Words of Radiance Why Renarin is an incredibly strong character Why Renarin is not going to be evil- 21 comments

Aaaand this is why I need to follow fewer threads because dangit I totally missed that you had responded to this orz. And I could do my modly duty and combine your two threads, but I want to give you two upvotes and also it's my thread so I don't even care. Bring it, admins. So, in order, I suppose? Question I'll probably wait to send your question on to the team since we're still on hiatus and I don't want to bug our people who aren't up for Scroungery things right now. The good news is, we've got an end in sight for that break! There's a very short campaign run by Ellie going on right now (because Gavin wanted to try something different just to get refreshed) and as soon as we're done with that, it sounds like most people are ready to jump back into the game to finish up these last few intermission scenes and head into Act 4! Sherman The piece actually wasn't written for me, but for Emma (lunarubato / plays Miranda). Gavin wrote it, since ze's the one who controls the NPCs. However, ze submitted it to Emma's blog (lunarubato) and because tumblr is DUMB it doesn't keep the source attribution of the submitter when you reblog it, so it showed up because I got it from her blog. It's canon though, so it needed to be in the tag, right? As the co-GM now, I can definitely say that you will see more from Wulagu certainly. Hopefully the Yegorovs will be back as well... Shasnah in Asgard *loud cackling* OMH Quiver, that wasn't even supposed to be a twist! You don't even know how hard I'm laughing right now! Yeah, it's pretty bad, but hey, gotta keep up the fandom monster cred, right? Despite the fact that Jasnah doesn't make an appearance, I didn't think I could tag this as anything other than Shasnah, with the way that Shallan's thinking about her. It was definitely written in a "Shallan has a major crush on her mentor, whose feelings in return are unknown" mindset. Which is probably as close to writing actual Shasnah as I will get, because I'm not great at writing for pairings I don't actually ship. I realized that I never posted a link in here for other people so here you guys go: [[Tumblr]] or [[AO3]]

I love this new opposites attract idea for them though. (I have since re-fallen in love with the ship, though it's now one of many because Kalarin and Kadolin are also things that happen). Basically, the idea of a liar and the one who can see through lies is just absolutely fascinating me. There's a Marvel character, Verity Willis, who is in the Loki: Agent of Asgard series that I've been following, and the fact that she can see through lies and always knows when she is being lied to makes her and Loki's dynamic really fascinating to me. Shallarin, from the start, has always been about shared interests and vast differences. They were an idea of playing with gender roles and flipping Vorin sensibilities about there, yet also helping each other see the values of what they were teaching. They share the Illumination surge, and I remember someone mentioning the really cool idea (that you also had above) that what if Lightweavers use it to create illusions, but Truthwatchers use it to dispel them? Just... ah, that's definitely a dynamic that appeals to me.
