Mid-Range Game 25: Lowborn Intrigue
Jondesu replied to TheMightyLopen's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Nice, I kinda figured I'd be attacked. I'm Tough, though I don't want to share my role with the whole thread, and while that's gone, I figured I'd rather draw an attack from the Elims that I could survive than have another villager attacked. I can't say I really have a good feel for who the other Elims are, but I'm going to go back over that last cycle's votes (and non-votes) when I get a chance.- 433 replies

Theory: Devotion and Dominion are actually a "Spintered Shard"
Jondesu replied to Yata's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I don't think I've seen anything confirming that, but there may have been some speculation. We do know (I believe) that the Dor is so dangerous in the Cognitive because Odium "stuffed" that power in there, which usually resides mostly in the Spiritual Realm. He did that to keep someone from reassembling the Shards, though we don't know if it's still possible anyways, and just harder. -
Mid-Range Game 25: Lowborn Intrigue
Jondesu replied to TheMightyLopen's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I think that was a calculated risk on Joe's part that just didn't pay off. I know when I've been an Elim I've sometimes made analysis lists like that, not truly hunting for Elims obviously, but looking for anything I can call out as a reasonable reason to be suspicious of them, and locked onto similar types of things. Doing it based on the PM only, and with his somewhat contradictory positions, was what got him in the end. EDIT: Oh, and I hope I'm fairly well cleared now. I know there's no guarantee, but sacrificing a teammate to be potentially cleared wouldn't usually be worth it D1, and Joe wasn't planning on dropping out from anything I saw anyways, so it wasn't just taking advantage of a situation. I think it's safe to say that if I was an Elim, Joe wouldn't have gone after me quite like that. Div didn't bother grumbling as the bridgemen headed to the chasms. It wasn't going to change anything, and since he fully expected to die here on a bridge crew, he didn't figure it mattered whether he got eaten by a chasmfiend, lost in the chasms, or shot by a Parshendi arrow. Scratch that, getting lost and wandering around to die slowly didn't sound good, but he figured if it came to that he'd find a way to make it end quicker. It was what he deserved for what he'd done anyways. Avasha, I'm sorry.- 433 replies

Wow, that’s awesome. Makes me glad I didn’t actually get back here in time to trade roles with Joe last cycle. Anyone that did, best of luck.- 433 replies

I was waiting to make sure I wasn't just doing this out of annoyance or as a reflex, but I do indeed think that Joe was trying to get me lynched intentionally. I can't imagine any other good reason for the sequence of events that just happened.- 433 replies

Mid-Range Game 25: Lowborn Intrigue
Jondesu replied to TheMightyLopen's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It’s not exactly a false accusation. I did ask him if he wanted to role trade, which he hadn’t mentioned when he PM’d me, but it wasn’t anything more than that. I don’t get why he’s decided that it was so suspicious (especially since he then came back and agreed, but I didn’t see the message until rollover). I also don’t get the bandwagon, which I don’t think is likely Elims piling on, but I don’t understand the reasoning either. I’ve had a bad run of basically meaningless lynches, so maybe the Elims are trying to get me again since I seem to accrue suspicion so easily?- 433 replies

Woah, woah, woah. I literally got a PM from Joe, asked if he wanted to role trade or something else, he said he wanted to wait, I left it at that. Now I’m accruing votes just from him saying that was suspicious. I did one other role trade, and the other player initiated it with me. I don’t think any of this should be making appear so suspicious.- 433 replies

Mid-Range Game 25: Lowborn Intrigue
Jondesu replied to TheMightyLopen's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Div flopped down on the ground in front of the barracks. Their bridge was off-shift at the moment, meaning everyone was lounging around. No need to do any work when they didn't have to, right? He yawned and looked around. No one was eyeing him, and he didn't want to make eye contact and be forced to interact with anyone, so he closed his eyes and laid back to sleep. I plan to keep this game pretty casual, which I know has been somewhat my style for a few games at least now. I hope to keep up better than I have been. Sorry about that for previous games… EDIT: As incentive to keep me alive, I'm considering giving just a little detail about Div and why he's in the bridge crew each cycle.- 433 replies

You wouldn't happen to have chosen that from a different fandom, perhaps? One set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away?- 433 replies

Wilson, I’m not even going to argue on that. I stated why I felt you were acting more like I expected you to as an Elim, partially from my own observation, and partially from what other people have said about you in those games, and it should be pretty clearly honest and not an attempt to lynch a villager intentionally. Rae, as promised. Quintus frowned slightly and sniffed. Was that smoke? Indeed, the vent in the floor had begun issuing some smoke, smelling somewhat more pungent than usual. He didn’t know what might be causing it yet, but he figured it was best to clear out. When he tried to open the door, however, the handle wouldn’t turn. Jammed from the outside? This wasn’t an accident. Someone either wanted him dead, or wanted him to think that. Unhurriedly, he knelt down next to his bag and retrieved a small item from one of the pockets. Two types of metal were set in a small coin: nicrosil and cadmium. Neither were exceptionally valuable to most people, but since he’d gotten this from the right source, it contained something far more valuable than the metals it was made from. Clasping it in his hand, he begun drawing in the stored breath inside, stopping his own breathing to avoid poisoning and giving him time to solve the problem. He looked down into the vent. It appeared there was a small bundle of twigs and maybe some other items shoved just under the grating, and that was burning slowly. He grabbed his pitcher of water and poured it onto the embers, and soon the smoke stopped. He reached down and pulled something from the the bundle. House Tekiel’s badge? Perhaps it was intended as a warning of some type, or the mark of an assassin, but it was far likelier that someone wanted him to think Tekiel wanted him dead. Or just wanted him to know they knew he would think that. Belatedly, he realized he was running low on stored breath (it was notoriously difficult to store), and stopped tapping the medallion, beginning to breath normally again now that the room was clearing out. This bore investigation, whether it was related to the Skaa or not.

Umm, ok? I think my reasoning for Wilson was pretty clearly explained, and there's not much else I can say to a weird accusation like this. Also, @Arraenae, I still plan to respond to that RP, it'll just have to be later today.

It’s possible the converts have useful abilities and they decided to forgo the kill for some reason? Maybe they have a Seeker or two and wanted to find the best roles to convert. Probably not, though. Who was inactive over the night cycle that had been active?

Mid-Range Game 25: Lowborn Intrigue
Jondesu replied to TheMightyLopen's topic in Sanderson Elimination
You can role play anything you want. Some games focus on it more, so the write ups for each day/night cycle will include plenty of prompts to help, and some don’t do much, but it’s all up to you. Some people roleplay everything including votes, some just roleplay in addition to their gameplay. Totally your choice.- 433 replies

I thought it was usually slow and drawn out. I can't say I knew Sart was innocent, but he wasn't my first choice. I hate to say it, but I'm growing increasingly suspicious of little wilson. She's been sounding more…maybe not aggressive exactly, but forceful and passionate, which is what I've seen when she's been an Elim. She does it sometimes as village too, so it's not a clear tip-off, but I'm very suspicious.

I think I missed him saying that, but you’re right, that does change things a little. Frozen Mint, thanks for responding, and I do feel like I jumped the gun with the accusation. That said, Steeldancer was known as Flash before and I remember playing several games with both of you around the time you started.

@Arraenae, you just walked away from me, how am I supposed to RP with you? Quintus watched warily as one of the female obligators–Armina, he thought her name was–approached his casual observation point. He didn't want to have to move, but he wasn't sure he wanted to stand around with someone who just might be a killer. Or the next victim. He wasn't sure which would be worse. The others were tossing accusations around fairly quickly now, panicking perhaps, or just zealous in their attempts to weed out the Skaa. Quintus knew what some others might not, though…some among the Obligators were willing to be bought, and may have been bought already. Their loyalty to The Lord Ruler wasn't nearly as unshakeable as was commonly thought, especially when enough money was offered. Come to think of it, he'd long suspected Armina of being less than committed herself, and the same of Nickel. Perhaps there were others, but he'd keep an eye on those two for now. Okay, so I'm fingering Rae and Aonar mostly for meta reasons, in that I expect players who aren't too high profile but are likely to remain active were candidates for the Seer. That said, the Seer killed off Steeldancer, meaning either they thought he was a threat, or he was a random choice (to be fair, I'd usually go for a completely random choice myself to avoid anyone being able to analyze my choices, but that doesn't mean the Seer did that). This is again mostly meta reasons, but I'd imagine a Seer who'd kill Steeldancer early would be interested in a player like Mira (Frozen Mint) as a convert, since those two started at similar times, so players who'd learned one of their playstyles would probably know both.

Am I reading the rules wrong, or does the Seer not have a kill of their own? I was thinking they needed to convert a kill role to have access to that.

I don't feel a need to say much either, considering the way things turned out. There will almost certainly be a conversion tonight, but we have little to go on when guessing who. I'm just going to be watching for any changes in position/playstyle, but this early in the game it's not going to be easy to see.
