  1. That is awesome. Very awesome.

Argh... favorite song. Well, I only own three, Viva la Vida, Sky Full of Stars, and Miracles. So those three. Yeah.

And I've mentioned them before elsewhere, but have you heard of Collective Soul? They and Imagine Dragons are my top two favorites. They're every bit as good as ID, in my opinion, at keeping the same sound while having drastically different albums.

those are three of the best imo :D

I haven't heard of them. I'll have to look them up!! any song recommendations from them?

  2. Hello, nice Surge you got there. ;) (Warning, if a guy named Voidus or anyone else associated with the Dark alles wants you to eat a cookie, they are spiked. Suprisingly Voidus is still a pretty awesome guy. )

am I missing something here?? :0 what's the dark alley?

Would you like a cookie?   I like imagine Dragons too! What's your favorite song? I like Demons. I also like all of your favorite characters. Wayne is hillarious.

cookie? are you one of the 'dark alley' people?

Yeah, Demons is amazing!! I think my favorite is probably either Friction or Thief :0) Yes. Wayne is wicked awesome.

Welcome! Those are interesting character choices, Sazed, who is very logical, and Wayne, who is very much the opposite. Yet I still think those are two of the best as well.

Would you like a cookie? Or maybe an echidna, we have those too.

Yeah, there's not much logic to my choice of favorite characters. Pretty much the only thing they have in common is they're all totally AWESOME <33

Another cookie person?? WHAT IS THE DARK ALLEY

    (.....echidna? Why...? XD )

  3. Gotta love a stylish entrance! Welcome to the forums--we're an endless pool of brilliance and insanity, and we look forward to seeing you in our midst!

Thanks! I look forward to participating in this endless pool of brilliance and insanity:)

Let's see. I also am about 53.8461538461538461% of those things. Trust me, I did the math.

    Welcome to the 17th Shard!

    THanks!!

Welcome- you're a fan of Mistborn, I'm guessing? Lol

    Anyway, enjoy the stay!

you bet I am!! haha. Thanks!

  4. Resool is my Connector, Alahya will be a Slider.

Also Hale will be one of the background characters; he's a zinc ferring. If I can get one of my friends to be more active on here, his character will be Hale's brother. We have their whole little relationship planned out.

If you want to post your synopsis, you can, but it isn't required. I'd actually like to get to know your characters through the rp, rather than just telling me about them beforehand!

Same, that sounds a lot more interesting than reading a synopsis. however, I think (unless the characters are going to be new to the town) we should at least know each character's reputation, so we know how NPCs and even our own characters should act around them. I dunno if that makes sense but yeah..

which brings me to my questions... which of the characters already know each other and which don't? how will we coordinate that? What's the town name, basic history & facts, stuff like that?

I'm totally joining if that's okay. I'm in love with AOL era scadrial :D My character will probably be a tineye, or a twinborn tineye/sentry. Not sure yet though..

  5. I don't know if you've read the silmarillion, but you could even compare morgoth to ruin. I guess that would make manwe preservation, if you want to go that far...?

you could contrast Vin with Frodo. They're the heroes of their stories, but they have vastly different backgrounds and personalities and are affected by their responsibilities and duties in different ways.. though they do both have a best friend that sticks with them to the end and ends up being vital to their success (vin/elend, frodo/sam)

Ooh, the fellowship is kind of comparable to Kelsier's crew. And eowyn is a total boss, just like Vin. c:

Plot-wise, though, both occur over the course of three books and end in overall success, though the main hero(es) were required to sacrifice a TON for their goals; although, in my opinion, Frodo did so more than Vin. In both, there were multiple people whose roles were vital to the success of the mission. Frodo and Sam's role involved being as inconspicuous as possible, while Vin and Elend's duties required them to kind of take the spotlight and lead everybody.

Both TLR and Sauron are unseen for the majority of the books they're a part of. The reader knows about them mostly through reputation and information given by the characters.

this might not help and it's a bit, but hey these are two of my favorite series. I had to :B

  6. Hoid in WoK seems really different from MB and WB Hoid... when I first read Warbreaker, he was so drastically different from Wit/Hoid that I was convinced that WB Hoid was the person who Wit/Hoid said he stole his name from. why is his personality so varied throughout the books? is it just me? Is it just because of his weird timeline, and he's older in some than in other? do we even know?!
