  1. What if Adonalsium was the God Beyond's (GB's) tool, or whatever made his consciousness powerful? What if now, he's just an empty shell, lacking all of his Aspects and power? I think that when all of the shards are "assembled" somehow, the collective shards will be the limitless power of a true God, across the entire Cosmere. Am I making sense here? I will try to summarize: Adonalsium was like a Mega-Shard that also held the personality of the being that held it. The reason that the individual Shards' intents change the personality of the holders is because they are imbalanced, each containing a certain facet of The GB's consciousness. Now someone point out the many holes in my logic so I can rest.

What would you call a fight between two coinshots? A boxing match.

Please. Just...please. No. Anything but this. Kwaan you please stop.
  4. Honestly, I think that Wayne is mentally damaged. I think something (maybe just his crime) broke him inside somehow. I think that we will hear more of Wayne's story later in the series, but for now, we just have to wait.
  5. He was putting himself into the act, thinking the thoughts of the "common man." I dunno how to explain it. You can see Wayne doing it multiple times in the series, whenever he's in character. You either see it or you don't, unless someone else can explain it better than me? I'm good at thinking about this stuff but not communicating it. I just eave everyone more confused usually. Sorry if that happened with this.
  6. Sorry about the leg, man. If you don't mind me asking a personal question to sate my own curiosity, how did it happen? Back to the topic, I think, and keep in mind that this is just speculation, not an ultimatum, that it is different for everyone. It could be that Miles has just gotten used to it, as was previously suggested, or it could be that the excess healing from the Gold is somehow dampening the pain, as after all, gold charge is too precious to waste, it being so hard to store, that only a compounder could really test it out, and the compounders usually do just always leave their feruchemy on as it costs them little.
  7. Not necessarily. The message of Kelsier has been frequently misinterpreted throughout the series, such as during the skaa takeover of Urteau.
  8. Savantism has to do specifically with allomancy, if you burn enough it changes you, a kind of spiritual addiction. With tin or pewter, you would become physically addicted as well, of course. I think you could get physically addicted to compounding if you, say, had double gold, like Miles. I remember there being a WoB on this, but I can't find it now. It said something about how it would be very dangerous for Miles to stop compounding. I think the main thing about savantism and how it differs from a regular addiction is a) it alters you spiritually and it is not always addictive for a metal such as copper or bronze.Compounding would turn into a more regular addiction. EDIT: I hate emoticons. Sorry for the wall of text, I hope my meaning is understood.
  9. Definitely, especially with Sanderson's. It's good to look into it enough to notice the plot inconsistencies, as they are important to the story, but don't go overboard, at least not on the first read. Also, on a personal level, this comment makes me feel better because I almost never notice things until I see them on the Shard.
  10. I really don't want it to be someone like Gaz. I mean, sure, he's redeemed and all, but I want someone who we liked and respected from the beginning. Y'know what I'm saying?
  11. So I was browsing the Coppermind when I came across the page for Trelagism, the religion of the worshippers of Trell. Some background: Trelagists believed that there were two gods, Trell and his healous brother Nalt. They thought that the night was sacred, as they could see the thousand eyes of Trell, the stars. They believed that in the day, Nalt shined his single eye (the sun) on the world, blocking the trelagists from seeing Trell's eyes, as he was jealous of their worship. Now, this strikes me as very similar to the religion described by Ishikk in the Stormlight Archive. They worship Nu Ralik, but they pretend to worship Vun Makak, his jealous brother, the source of all of their misfortunes, to appease him. I think that this is intentional, and that we will see something about this in some of the later Cross-Cosmere books. Thoughts? TL:DR - Religious conspiracy. Purelakian religion is very similar to one of the Scadrian Religions. Expect to see explanation later in the cosmere.
  12. Unapproachably long is not a thing for me. My only issue with a good, long, book is the obsessive way I will read it, basically neglecting my life. Online griping? To each his own. As long as it's noticeably better than LotR, I'm good. I really don't like the "because it is" feels that books like that give. And clichés? Love 'em. Probably just my inner romantic at work. I think I'll read this. I need another world to read. I've read GoT more times than I can count, I know the Cosmere almost inside out, and unfortunately, the days of Redwall and Eragon are past. Thank you, all, for helping me with this. I think I can feel confident that I will be able to religiously pursue this series. It looks good.
  13. I think it's safe to assume that the mobiles have some epic-induced functionality. Every other time we have seen something as awesome as the knighthawk mobiles (infinite battery, reception under 50ft of steel, etc.) it's had something to do with an epic. My personal theory is that Knighthawk is an "agent of Calamity," basically an Epic that gives out this amazing service that is so unique and useful that nobody can go without it and that collects information for Calamity. Kind of like Knighthawk was handpicked by Calamity and his "Contract of Epicness" had a clause that said you can only be epic if you do this for me.
  14. I'm thinking Rock. He's very close to Kaladin, likes strange foods and does not like to hurt people. I have not read the entire topic, so I don't know if this theory has been suggested and debunked, but I think it has merit.
  15. I love all of Sanderson's books, and I've had this series recommended to me. What I want to know is if this series is worth it, are Jordan's books good? I love fantasy and well explained magic systems, does this have that kind of thing?
  16. Maybe at first, with Kell being a strange, fascinating figure and potential love interest, but not later. He turns into a father figure/older half-sibling caretaker (like Reen should have been) near the end.
  17. I don't think that Iron man's physical abilities count. After all, he built the suit, it is all explained perfectly. I'd say a zinc Ferring, for his brilliance, and I'd say rioter, but I don't think he's a compounder. Soother doesn't fit either, because he's just too good at aggravating people. Though, breeze is too...

    Pathism

You should disable emoticons. I agree with your idea, i think. Itt sounds like something Sazed would do.
  19. I don't think he would have pulled out OreSeur's spikes, he said he tortured him before death. He probably ambushed him with a mallet, that seems like the most feasible option.
  20. We should remember that what something means in our language does not mean the exact same thing in Rosharian. For example, they might have named it gravitation as a new word, and then later, when they discover gravity, they would name gravity after the surge, not the other way around.
  21. Inquisitors live longer anyways, about 250 years, it says something about it in book 1. It wouldn't be that implausible for Marsh to have an even longer life, considering all of the other things Sazed did.
  22. I've always thought of it as when tapping, you enter a kind of "phantom sleep" where you are perfectly awake but still getting rest.
  23. Sharp Dressed Man for Elend. Just 'cause I'm listening to it right now. Come fly with me for the Kelsier-Vin training sessions Uptown Girl for Vin-Elend relationship, but reversed (Skaa-slum Girl).
  24. Considering that investiture is usually not closed-shard (i.e. Nightblood can use Stormlight), Bronze should be able to sense other types of investiture. Holding Stormlight, though, should be considered Kinetic because the Stormlight is always moving as it leaks out of its container. I am not sure if a sphere holing it would count, but definitely a person, as they are strengthened and the need to breathe is removed.
  25. The Inquisitors still use allomancy, even though they get it from hemalurgy. I can't say anything about your original question though, regarding Feruchemy.
