I read the Mistborn trilogy first - I would recommend that followed by Elantris and Warbreaker - definitely read Warbreaker prior to WoR Welcome !

I like it - maybe the ring is multiple different Spren classes on a council -- upvote

Is it just me or do you really don't like Navani
ARARITA replied to Megan's topic in Stormlight Archive
I love Navani - I gave my daughter Navani for her middle name ~~ Eva Navani -
the Kabbalah is something I have studied for 25+ years - I'm sure there are elements that have been used the QBL is something that has been around way before Luria - the Torah / old testament is coded with it it is a very old tradition - predating the Bible the Jewish tradition has 10 Sephiroth / bottles the Arabic before that had 8 and - lol - the QBL is everywhere - used by nerds and magickians alllll over the planet }

the obvious ? I think he may not be getting a spren - Darkness has been killin those folks ... which would beg the question - do all KR orders have spren - Skybreakers might not

you may be interested in my post : A Holy Crap Nightblood Moment in the Warbreaker forum I am not sure if the timelines match up or not for Vasher to be a Herald my son and I have tossed around the idea - but it differs from your theory a bit I get the feeling that the Heralds are not native but spacemen or from a different planet - at very least Worldhoppers I believe Vasher is from Nalthis - I also believe he is a Worldhopper - previous to current situation I believe he has been to Roshar and Scadrial previously and I believe travelling to Scadrial applies to at least 2 of the 5 scholars - perhaps all

How many Nalans are we really seeing...? (WoR Spoilers)
ARARITA replied to pharaoh9000's topic in Stormlight Archive
posted this in What are the powers of todays Heralds : I would imagine he would NOT use surgebinding - wouldn't that seem to contradict ? I think he is a worldhopper and can use whatever Hoid uses to be at the right place at the right time- 33 replies

So why exactly is Nightblood so stupendously overpowered?
ARARITA replied to kroen's topic in Warbreaker
Nightblood is equivalent to a super Shardblade - but with nasty negative effects it was supposedly made with 1000 breaths and a 2 word command : destroy evil it was made by Shashara and Vasher I'm not sure if all of that is true - we are told that - but there could be a little miss direction In Warbreaker we are told that Shashara made the blade - in WoB we are told Vasher was imitating a Shardblade we know very little about Shashara - and we don't know all we think we do about Vasher Vasher says he was a good person but isn't any longer - though we are lead to believe he is redeeming himself we do not however know what Nightblood is made from - what kind of object or type of metal perhaps it was a special object or perhaps it is a special metal another thing we know is that it's big and heavy - different than most normal blades is that a transformation from the making or was it prior to ? I think the question : was it made from a special object or a special metal ? is the key here and of course I believe it is a dead Shardblade from Roshar resurrected on Nalthis yay Zombieblade ..but it's probably just made of silver ..but SOMETHING happened to make it have nasty negative effects -
it does also say it was a collaboration - so I wonder how that happens maybe she did the command and he gave breath ? come to think about it - we don't know that it is the usual process to make awakened objects - AND - something may have gone wrong - that life sucking black smoke thing so maybe it was a hemalurgic spike by killing someone on Scadrial - OR - it was a dead spren blade from Roshar --- yay Zombieblade seriously though - the 5 scholars - at least Vasher and Denth - it says WERE good people - what changed them ? hmmmm @Iron Eyes - all good - no offense taken - I took it as a matter that we think we understand and therefore you were stating / defending what you thought was common sense - but - it isn't in psychology it's called expectation - and he uses our expectations against ourselves - we judge and think we know something and then he gets us with it
-
indeed - we do NOT know . Vasher says throughout the book that there is a lot we don't know about awakening we know that Vasher and Shashara collaborated on making Nightblood who's breath was used ? I am a big fan of Nightblood and I believe it is something important to the overall Cosmere story and because of a recent brilliant post by I forget who sorry - I believe we do not know what we think we do about Denth - after this last reread - I believe he's been to Scadrial and has / had access to speed one way or another also , I believe we do not know what we think we do about Vasher - by a looooong stretch just by his part in helping to make Nightblood , patterned after a shardblade, we can surmise that he is knowledgeable about different Shards / planets' magic systems / and if he can use breath on Roshar - he is knowledgeable enough to hack said systems
-
and that's why I am asking questions we think we know the answer to - we don't AND - he likes to specifically mess with things we think we know
-
I've read the book multiple times - i do know he is type IV it would make sense that he can't have it taken from him - maybe - but do we know for sure ? can he (Nightblood) give his breath away ? would he then be a drab evil-killing blade ? ...
-
I'm not sure seems like a mixture I agree that he probably can't - but I am not 100%
-
is Nightblood a being ? he is an awakened object with sentience is he lifeless ? cuz that would of course justify me calling him a Zombieblade lol
-
um - if Vasher made Nightblood with a bunch of his own breath (if it wasn't his it was Shashara's) can he take em back and essentially kill Nightblood ? holy crap
