  1. I didn't actually notice you'd voted on me(emails have no color), but also a space of five hours without posts doesn't exactly mean that everyone's given up.
  2. Does anyone know if it's going to be available as an eBook starting at midnight?
  3. You must have missed when I said it yesterday. Just a few responses: Meta was a Legend. I would know because I spent the night weeping over him and was unable to perform any actions. I can't go into why the snitch is good. Sorry. Feel free to use that as a counter-argument. The odds that I'm disregarding is that a redirect happened to hit the Eliminator Beggar. It's also extremely unlikely that Mark both failed his blind check (1/2) and hit the evil beggar by accident (1/18) (combined 1/36, and if that is what happened, I am fine with being wrong), which is why I think that the note showed Meta's correct role and you lied about it. In re to the killling-off-other-beggars argument. You couldn't have done anything else the first day, because the snitch (Mark) would know that you weren't going after the same person. I don't know why you wanted to do that lynch, but Meta was your only choice. I believe your second point is that the Eliminator killed Hellscythe, who was a beggar. I think he was public at that point, so it wasn't random. I think that the Eliminators did that to set up an IKYK that you wouldn't get other beggars killed off. Alternatively, they just had to ignore the risk of your death and get rid of a information role, and they thought the snitches would be protected. (Also, we broke Alv's phone. Sorry Alv.) (And hello Rabbit Hole. Hope to see you in the next game)
  4. However, as it was stated earlier, that is very unlikely, which is why Meta was lynched. The allegedly blind snitch would have had to have not only failed his blind check, but also the evil beggar would have had to be picked randomly out of eighteen people. On the other hand, if you were evil, then the note could have been correct, and have read "Loyal Beggar". For this to be true, you would have to be evil, and the allegedly blind snitch would have had to succeed in his blind check. As probability theorists, we must look at which of these outcomes is more likely. Outcome 1: Kipper is evil He would have lied about the snitch note, so it does not depend on the blindness of the snitch. The snitch note that says he is evil is correct. There must have been no Mirror or Street Performer, which would be extremely unlikely given that the user would have had to target Kipper and happened to randomly redirect the action to the evil beggar. It is possible that a traitor did this, but since they had no idea Kipper would be scanned, it would have been almost entirely random. Outcome 2: Kipper is town He received a note saying Meta was an evil beggar. The snitch must have failed his blind check, and randomly selected an evil beggar as his target. (1/2 x 1/36) The snitch note that said he was evil is false. Since the snitch isn't blind, there must have been a redirect to the evil beggar, and since nobody knew that Kipper was going to be scanned, that is so unlikely as to be able to be completely disregarded. "It would make absolutely zero sense for an Eliminator to do what you are saying I did." Please explain why. "Perhaps the Snitch is evil? Perhaps an Eliminator redirected the action? Perhaps you're evil, and you're lying about a Note you got. Imagine that, if you got a Note saying "Kipper is a Good Beggar," and then thought, "Haha, I can accuse Kipper of doing exactly what I'm about to do!" Pretty clever play, and you've put me on the defensive. Now, since I've given my reasons as to why I think this "Note" is fallible, how about you explain to me how we can be assured of A. The Snitch being good. B. You being good. C. The Snitch not being redirected to frame me." A. They've been scanned by a confirmed good snitch. B. I believe Ada scanned me last night. At least he was supposed to. C. The odds are so low that this happened that I'm disregarding it. You didn't claim that you have a Mirror or are a Street Performer, and so someone else would have had to do it. "Also, something I mentioned to a few people Night One, it would be very nice for an Eliminator be in charge of this MUIOOP thing, having all the parts and items flow through their hands." A few people in a doc, perhaps? That is why you joined almost right away, so that you could be in the trusted group and gain control of devices. Finally, you keep on saying that it doesn't make sense for an Eliminator to do what you did. I don't care about whether it makes sense, I care about whether it is more likely that a Villager or an Eliminator did what you did. It is much more likely that the preceding things would have happened if you are an Eliminator. QED.
  5. "It is interesting that Secondary Main Character 2 vanishes in Part Four, and that in Part Two, we only get one chapter from Secondary Main Character 1." Chaos, Brandon commented on that post in response to this question that it means no viewpoint chapters from that character. They'll still appear.
  6. 1. Of course I'm not saying what. 2. So now you're saying that a note that read "evil beggar" did refer to Meta? I was referring to the role, not the name. 3. You claim "it's not something an eliminator would do". I claim that, given an evil scan of you, it makes perfect sense for you to be an eliminator. 4. That was referring to the fact that if you wanted to get someone killed, it had to be Meta, because his name was the one on the note and the snitch knew it. 5. Because I got a note from a snitch who isn't blind. On the other hand, you seem to be convinced that it's inaccurate. Without saying "because it says I'm evil so it's wrong", why does the note not say your true role/alignment? 6. Because now we get to see how you respond to all this right away. I could just quote your own post on why you outed a guilty note.
  7. Still here myself. I'll vote for Elkanah. That vote seems to me more like an excuse for a bandwagon than actually trying to find an eliminator.
  8. [REDACTED] because Kipper knows some stuff. This post was going to say some things that I no longer think are a good idea. Unfortunately, saying why would almost have the same effect as saying them in the first place. I'm iust glad that I now think of these things before and not after I hit "Post". Instead, I'll respond to Kipper. 1. Two reasons. First, because it makes him, if he doesn't want to lie about his role, look incredibly suspicious: why would a note have the wrong alignment but the right role? It probably did have the right alignment too, but seeing as Kipper, a traitor got it, he decided that (possibly knowing about the blindness of the snitch) it was worth it to get Meta killed. And actually, you just gave away that you did know or guess at their blindness. Can't quote right now, but "knowing that people would be looking at Beggars more closely?" The only reason anyone would look at beggars more closely is if the snitch targeted the wrong person. That could only happen if they were Blind, or if their action was redirected. Since you said that you wouldn't do that as a traitor Beggar, you decided that you could use the blindness if the snitch to make it seem like you got a note that didn't refer to Meta, while actually you did, but lied about it. The second reason for doing what Kipper did is so he can make this argument. Not only did he get a valuable villager lynched, but he forced the town to waste a lunch and essentially a full day of discussion. He even got a snitch to reveal, if he didn't already know their role. And, because it wouldn't be something an eliminator would do, he did it. 2. Because the note referred to him, and if you lied about the name on it, you knew that the snitch would get you killed. Finally, "this looks like an attempt to frame me...". Of course it does. That's the only thing you can say at this point, whether or not you're an Eliminator, although barring the possibility that you're a Compulsive Liar who happened to give your correct role and wrong alignment, that note is infallible.

    Hoid!

You should probably go to the Cosmere 101 thread, which I don't have the link to right now. You can search it though.
  10. QF12 is finished!

  11. A Unanimous Decision Perseus sat. He was getting tired of this, but surely they'd almost caught the Reckoners by now. Surely they were almost gone. Surely his court would go back to normal today. Surely. His subjects' arguments buoyed his spirits. Though they had all had different viewpoints at first, they'd come together and agreed on someone who surely was a Reckoner. He'd suspected it ever since she had gotten people killed with only her silver tongue. Ever since she'd claimed to be related to some of the other people there. No family had multiple Epics. Even among his own, which had seven children, he'd been the only one to learn the joy of doing whatever you wanted. So, it naturally followed that of the three that claimed to be siblings, two would be Reckoners. He wasn't sure which of Kamyle and Tyler was and which wasn't, but he felt reasonably confident that Steph wasn't the Epic. And the people agreed- even Steph herself had given up and announced that she was a Reckoner. Perseus prepared to start talking. He'd have to have a full formal trial for this one, what with the criminal charges that have already been brought against her. Suddenly, one last person came running in. Sam Charleston. A new figure, but one that was rising quickly in the organization. He was very persuasive, just like Steph. A dangerous figure, to be sure, but not today. Today he was the only dissident in what would have been a unanimous decision. Perseus frowned, with his clean-cut results destroyed because of one Epic. He did have an opinion, and one that had been popular earlier, too. "Guys! Stop! We've all made mistakes! Just because Steph was controlled doesn't make her evil!" Tyler stood, smiling evilly. "I beg to differ." Crossing the room toward the entrance whence Sam had came, he made as if to whisper something in his ear- and then stabbed him in the neck. "Who are you going to listen to?" Tyler inquired, casually flipping the knife from hand to hand. "The man standing here with a deadly weapon, or the fool who just got himself killed?" Needless to say, nobody went with the more dangerous option. They were, after all, Epics. They wanted to kill each other. Walking up to Perseus, Tyler smirked. "We've decided on Steph. And I really must thank you in advance, Perseus. You've been most helpful." Perseus was incensed, but held it in, for the moment. "I've decided on Steph. Bring her up here." The man looked happy to comply, despite his supposed relationship with her. Family members were never as close as they seemed at first glance, at least in his experience. Tyler grabbed a shocked Steph by the shoulder and shoved her onto the dais. "Don't complain to me, sister. This is what you wanted." Perseus looked at Steph, then at Tyler. For the first time in his new life, he had no desire to kill anyone. Not even when everyone else wanted him to. He had to keep an calm and collected outside, though. "You may have the honors." Raising the knife, still slick with blood from Sam's veins, Tyler thanked Perseus, and then brought it down." Steph gasped. They raised one arm, and grabbed his shoulder, brining him in close. "You... could've saved... me. Why-" she coughed up some blood. The blade must have struck a lung. "- didn't you... do more?" With a final wheeze, Steph sank to the ground, dead. Perseus hadn't realized he was crying until he looked up and couldn't see properly. It only took an flex of his will to clear the water from his eyes, and he watched as Kamyle stalked and then killed an invisible Locke, as Kipper trapped Ripple in a cell of illusions and stabbed her with a smile, and then again as the wound healed. As they both converged on Mac, who desperately tried to persuade them to let him go to no avail, and when he failed, watched as he turned invisible and ran straight into a forcefield. He pounded the air all around himself, but the forcefield merely constricted, and suddenly Mac was gone. Perseus straightened. The survivors gathered in a semicircle around his throne, the seat of his power. Not only the survivors, no. But the Reckoners. He saw now their true power. It lay not in knives. But instead in the silent determination that each and every Epic who committed a crime, who killed, who ignored the law, would be found, and put down. Not in guns. But in their belief that they were making the world a better place, one target at a time. Not even in antimatter. But in their steadfast will, their strength, their courage, their energy, their sacrifice, their willingness to face Epics with no powers of their own and win. In all those things lay true power. And Perseus only regretted that he hadn't realized it until now, at the end of his life. But unlike his subjects, he was a High Epic. And he wouldn't be going down without a fight. Queensteph was lynched! They were an Epic with Magnified Persuasion and Invisibility! Bridge Boy was killed! They were an Epic with Transmogrification and Magnified Persuasion! Vote Tally: queensteph: 6; Kipper, Lopen, queensteph, Kamyle Lopen: 2; Bridge Boy Paranoid King survived! (Not really) He was an Epic with Invisibility and Magnified Persuasion! RippleGylf survived! (Not really) She was an Epic with Transmogrification and Accelerated Healing! OrlokTsubodai survived! (Not really) He was an Epic with Invisibility and Accelerated Healing(used)! Kipper survived! He was a Reckoner with Illusions, Enhanced Relationships, and Heat Vision! Lopen survived! He was a Reckoner with Forcefields, Enhanced Relationships, and Magnified Persuasion! Kamyle survived! He was a Reckoner with Transmogrification, Enhanced Relationships, and Heat Vision! The Reckoners have defeated Perseus' subjects... but can they defeat the High Epic himself? Find out tomorrow in the final write-up! This thread is for discussing the events of the game, although it isn't technically over until we know whether Perseus wins or loses. The final write-up will be posted tomorrow and will contain that fight, as well as a second post with my thoughts. I suggest you post any final RP you have in this thread. Thanks for playing my game.
