Hard to say why it shocked me... Maybe because it's a simple thing that we don't have. There is no practical reason why we don't have it. I'm sure someone somewhere tried to sell those, but people preferred to prepare their own vegetables by themselves. Or maybe it's because "why would you need to have them already cut and dried, when cutting an onion manually takes like 2 minutes (and I assume it has better/stronger taste)". I wonder what other surprising things I would find if I went to grocery shop in USA And what you'd find surprising in Europe...

You have pre-prepared onions in America o.O its amazing how many little differences there are between Europe/Poland and US... it seems first that its all the same, just with different units of measurement and then you hear there are onions that are already cut... I'd still cut them myself, I prefer my vegetables fresh and juicy

Argon was just inspecting the CDs collection left in the house by it's previous owner, when he heard the doorbell. He was happy for the distraction, as the CDs weren't enough to stop his thoughts about Summer. She reminded him of someone from the past he didn't want to think about. Still not used to having servants, he went to the door and opened it himself. He saw three women standing in front of him. He recognized Kenshin immediately, but the two others weren't familiar. The one in the middle, with straight orange hair, wore fashionable and elegant clothes while the other one choose to wear more practical and durable clothing. Rick has spent a lot of time describing Queen Blossom while they were walking towards Corvallis, but could it really be her? Why a Queen would visit him just after he arrived to the city? And what Kenshin had to do with this? "Can I help you...?" Argon asked, out of pre-Calamity habit, holding the door open and staring at his unexpected guests. If the woman in the middle was indeed Queen Blossom, Argon was not surprised Rick had a crush on her, she was a beauty. Behind her however, he noticed a sight much less enjoyable. A couple of big black cars parked on the street, and a bunch of people in combat gear, spreaded around his new garden. They were armed, but fortunately the guns weren't pointed at him... yet...

You don't need Photoshop to edit photos. GIMP is a powerful, free photo editing software. For any amateur user it's as good as Photoshop IMO.

Whoa, that's one of the most dumb things I've heard parents do... GTA and Witcher are games 100% not for children, full of blood, violence, sex, alcohol and drugs! And he's ok with that? Does he know there are elves and dwarves in Witcher? o.O LoTR etc. is bad, but Witcher is cool... that's something I cannot even begin to understand...

I have a day that's a mix of bad and good, so it doesn't fit in neither of day threads. I'll just share here then! Today I told my boss I'm leaving my job. Her reaction was more or less like: "Oh, crap!" (translation not accurate ) So now I feel kinda bad that I didn't warn her earlier (I'm leaving with 1st of December), so she'd have more time to find a replacement for me. But I didn't feel too comfortable with saying I'm gonna leave, when I didn't have any idea where I'll go... Now on one hand I'm a bit sad to cause problems to her, as she's a good person etc. On the other hand, I'm happy I'll have a job with much better salary (almost 50% increase) and perspectives. There is also a third side, where I'm just nervous about three month trial period I'll have in this new job I hope I'll do fine and not end up unemployed next year

The order of letters in alphabet won't change. It's base of too many systems humanity rely on. Changing ordering of letters in all computer systems we use is practically impossible.

Reading about how much money people make in USA or Western Europe makes me sad Minimal wage in Poland is currently at 475 USD per month, and many people don't even make that much, because employers hire them using so called "trash contracts" that aren't regulated by minimal wage law :/
