  1. To start off with, I'll just say that what I am about to say is as I see it. This isn't official, but it's how I understand it. Unless I am very, very, good, in which case, it is official. Also, Spoilers for basically every book in the series. Got it? Good. Her genes. They added up to make her a mistborn, and they made her slightly more powerful as well. Maybe her bloodline had eaten the Lerasium later than others or something of the sort. She was chosen by Preservation. Even when she had the earring stopping her, some of preservation's power was bleeding into her, giving her an extra boost, which was magnified by drastic amounts when she used the mists. These add together to give her extra from her metals. Say an average mistborn would burn a metal and get 100 power from it. Vin could burn it and get 110, or 120, or some larger amount. Nothing too drastic/OP, but a definite boost to what the average mistborn would have. Again, this is just my opinion, and not official.
  2. The method I have for determining innocence is still active, but I won't say anything else about them. Also, my trust has spread to 3 people now. See, I can be nice! And STINK? You assassinated my brother. That'll probably call for some RP revenge, just to warn you. Also, metaphorical hands up whoever didn't realize that you had to send in housing each month, and was confused by keeping finding themselves on the streets! *Raises Hand* Yeah, maybe I should read those rules a bit more thoroughly. ... Nah, I'll be fine, there's no way that anything in there could potentially kill with my my not knowing about it. #SarcasmDoesn'tCarryVeryWellThroughWriting
  3. Didn't I say earlier that I haven't lied, as far as I can remember? I might have said something, but if I did, I can't remember what. Edit: Read W0nko's post, and I just have to say, I would be more than happy to be scanned, as I am a villager, and I'm not sure what this "loophole" you mention is, as I have no idea, and have no recollection of you "asking me to close this loophole repeatedly." Let me say it again. I am a villager, and am not a skindancer. I haven't lied in the thread. Happy? One scan on me, and you can be done. A vote on W0nko for his apparent obsession with me, (Creeeeeeeepy......) while removing my vote on Kynedath. I've decided to trust him, and I'll back it up with a vote removal.
  4. That's fine, and I will be expelled if it comes to it, it just means you have lost a valuable player through your decisions. I will not publicly share my information, and I will leave it up to the two people I have trusted with some of it to reveal themselves or not, as I will not. For any linguistics people who don't trust me, I am not a skindancer/eliminator/direct threat to the villagers. Also, I am fine with people not trusting me, the only problem I have is people actively mistrusting me, as that could be dangerous for my health. I'm not going to respond to the RP, as it is terribly OOC for my character to even be seen, not to mention talking to someone and getting into an argument with them. But, just for the record, the MoA will make Acaelus's life as bad as he needs to if it means he can save the university from the skindancers and itself. One person's personal comfort is decidedly secondary to a possible infestation of skindancers taking over the university.
  5. The bloodless would be useful, but probably hold off on this turn, but I'll send you the information for you to decide whether to protect me or not. They probably haven't defended me because they haven't been active. And yeah, it doesn't pose any risk to me, but I trusted them with my information, so I will continue that trust, and not give away any of their information. If they decide to, that's fine, but I will not reveal my partners info. My most common SE gamestyle has me being very tightfisted with information, which does include telling half-truths and lies to defend my information, so just to warn you, any information I do give the village may not be entirely truthful. But that same view of the importance of info makes me respect others information as well. And no, I cannot think of a time that I lied this turn. I might have, but I can't remember.
  6. My only problem with him is that he would be insanely OP. INSANELY. He could start fires by rubbing molecules together in a small area, make something impossibly sharp by vibrating molecules in a large area, freeze water at will or evaporate it, and create force fields. Sure, his abilities only work in a nearby area, but I still think he might be a bit too strong. No PI, range of a meter, and no physical enhancements or training, and he might be balanced.
  7. Wow. See previous post. That makes total sense. The reason I am not sharing, is because currently, I have been elevated three times, by chance. This means the skindancers will come for my blood about this time, and I'm certainly not going to give them any more reasons to. I have found someone trustworthy, and shared one of my abilities, but I will not post my capabilities in the thread for all evil people to see, just to assuage your conscience that I'm not holding out on you. I'm not. And even if I did reveal my fields, they offer no proof to you that I am innocent, and you guys could probably find a way to gain another reason to lynch me instead. Also, Burnt spaghetti, I checked a little farther into you, and you're good. Sorry for voting on you before. Kynedath, on the other hand, has not earned my trust yet, as he has mostly posted RP, and his vote on me before gives no reason as to why he did so.
  8. That's why it's agreed it's not usable in a practical situation. People agree that if the bullet and the sword are stationary, so in a perfect environment, then yeah, it totally possible to deflect bullets. But in the middle of battle, locating where the bullets heading, move the sword there in time to reflect it, then rinse and repeat for the other 20 bullets headed for him? That's what they say isn't feasible. So yeah, I'll probably go back and remove the deflecting bullets part, and I already fixed it so that they aren't reckoners anymore. The other thing of the post is an epic idea who can control the oscillation of air molecules within about a meter of himself. So he could have them oscillate like crazy to create a super sharp sword he's holding, (actual hilt, air blade.) or freeze the oscillation to create barriers or platforms. Just an idea that I think could create a crazy powerful epic. No PI though, besides the barriers, so he's weak to ambushes.
  9. To respond to everyone's votes on me, (not quoting, because they are on 3 different pages.) I apologize Burnt, but I was not aware that you were that poor, and I hope you can make tuition. You may have to go to Devi for it though. And as for the reasons on the votes, I will not say what it is, as I'm still waiting for confirmation, but through an action, I'm not totally sure of you guys right now. And as for deathclutch, I didn't intentionally mean to do that much damage to Burnt, just acting on my suspicions, and I hadn't posted yet, because yesterday was Sunday, and I don't get on the computer on Sunday, thus no posting.
  10. So just undo that part then? I wanted the post to be showcasing how skilled he is, and I figured deflecting bullets would show a good portion of it, as well as hoping he could do it later. I'd rather not delete an entire section of my writing, but I will if I need to.
  11. I see it as: | | | / --------/ / But at a much less drastic angle. He's deflecting it, not blocking it, which seriously reduces said "force." Edit: Actually looked it up, and it's pretty much universally agreed that it is possible, but normal humans don't have the reflexes for it. He's not a normal human though, so does it still pass, or no?
  12. True, but I still think he might be able to pull it off. I did include in the post something stating he had trained to be able to do it, but is it still just too unrealistic?
  13. Sometime that day, a paper was pinned up above the entrance to the university, the stacks, and the dorms. It read: "I posted this paper to publicly apologize for my inaction towards Varda's predicament. For various reasons, I did not put a stop to her situation, and for that, I am truly sorry, and wish I had. This note is to reduce my regret, and hopefully, receive some small modicum of forgiveness from Varda." The papers were left unsigned, and soon after they were placed, they were taken down by staff members. See, there's my RP! I've had more time to figure out who I wanted to vote for, so I'll vote for Mark IV and Burnt Spaghetti. I do have relatives over though, as well as other RL things, so I might be inactive for a while.
  14. So no actual reckoners? I know that there are a bunch of different reckoner cells around, and I tried not to give names, but absolutely no reckoners? I could make it criminals, but it doesn't make as much sense to have him go out and destroy a bunch of criminals. But if you guys don't want reckoners, I can go back and change that. On the subject of deflecting bullets, it's not like he's slicing through them, he's just seeing where the gun is pointing, and putting the flat of his blade there, deflecting the bullets off to the side. He's not doing anything impossible, just something very cool/dangerous.
  15. I stepped out into thin air from a window of void, through which was what seemed to be the kind of throne room that you would find in an evil villains lair. Which it was in a way, but we were the good guys here. Right, anyway, I'd just stepped out of a portal I'd placed earlier that day while walking through the city. It was about five miles above a certain abandoned apartment building that the evil epic killers were rumored to be hiding in; plotting something dastardly, like taking over the city. And since the rumors were from Seef, they were always correct. Falchion had been here a while, and he happened to like the city. Nobody made fun of his swords after the first dozen people he'd punished for it. He certainly wasn't going to let the city get taken over by any evil masterminds. Besides Seef. He was an evil mastermind on Falchion's team, so it was all okay. Oh wait, scratch that, a good mastermind on Falchion's team. There, much better. Back to falling to my death. Or at least something that would be death if I wasn't the coolest epic ever. Which I was. So no worries there. I canceled out the portals I'd used to get here, as I had no use for them anymore, and concentrated of falling to my awesomeness. As opposed to death, which I'd already used. Variety is the spice of everything after all. I relaxed and decided to wait. I loved skydiving, as the wind swept past me at what seemed to be the speed of sound, watching everything slowly growing larger, as I prepared for my entrance. As I neared the roof, I righted myself in midair, waited a few seconds, and then threw my arms out to the sides in a dramatic gesture. I was absorbed into a portal which opened beneath my feet, and which redirected me at an upwards angle slightly closer to the ground. As I sailed higher, gravity began to take control after a while, but I still had plenty of momentum, and created a maze of portals that redirected me every which way in a pattern, but to bystanders, it would look like it was at random. After my momentum had slowed down, I removed the portals except one beneath me, and linked it to a portal that was about ten feet above the roof of the building. I dropped through, and quickly reached into my jeans pockets with my hands, pulling them out to land in a crouch on the roof with my hands touching. The impact didn't hurt, as a portal had popped up beneath me and taken the brunt of the damage, but it was enough to disperse the chalk dust I'd held in my hands across the roof in a billowing white cloud. I had no doubt I looked awesome right then. Sadly, it seemed there was nobody to see it. On top of a random abandoned apartment building in the middle of town, during midnight. I'd have to talk to some later, and tell more vanillas to hang out on roofs just in case I happened to skydive onto them. Hopefully this group of wannabe villains at least had some cameras up here. I would probably ask for the footage. I'd never actually been able to see how my entrance actually looked from someone else's perspective, and this would be a good opportunity. I wiped the chalk dust on my hands onto my jeans, and walked to the door leading from the roof, opening it with a bang. *** That lasted all of about two seconds, as gunfire ripped up the stairwell towards me. I guess this meant they had cameras. I whipped out twin butterfly swords, Mors and Thanatos, and deflected a couple of the bullets, the impact pushing against my arms, but not enough to reduce my performance. This was mostly a mixture of luck and guessing where they'd shoot. I'd gotten shot at by machines for months to figure out how to do this, even if it was mainly just for how cool it looked. The trick mostly relied on moving my swords to where I was being shot, just in time to deflect or redirect the bullet, shifting it's vector to somewhere else. I'd heard of people slicing bullets in half with the blade, but then you just have two sections of metal moving at you at high speeds, and that seems like a step down to me. The remainder of the bullets that I couldn't divert were sucked into the miniature portals that popped up in front of me, absorbing the projectiles. The gunfire stopped, and I heard cursing from farther down the stairwell, but it was still dark enough that I couldn't make much out. I used a portal to redirect moonlight downwards, as I sheathed my swords, now with a few choice dents in them, before almost lazily pulling out and throwing a kunai at top speed towards the wall. Lazily. Cool people can do that. It never reached the wall though, as it found its way to a portal recently spawned there, which spat it out at the bottom, past a corner I couldn't see. This was followed by a *sthunk* sound, some gurgling, and the audible sound of a dead body falling down about three flights of steps. And if whoever it was wasn't dead by the kunai, they certainly would be by the time they reached the bottom. I heard someone scream “Thomas!” and run down the steps, followed by another set of footsteps. I waited for them to finish leaving, and then reached over and flicked on the light switch, which proceeded to illuminate the stairwell in a flickering florescent light, which also showed some red splotches on one wall of it. I continued downwards. *** This time, I was able to make it all the way down to a landing on the seventh floor, to where streaks of blood ran down the floor of the hall as if a dead body had been dragged. Which it had. They hadn't even left the kunai. How rude. I would want that back at some point. Hopefully they would say something like 'over my dead body!' and I could do exactly that. Usually when that happened, it was some hero protecting something, but here, they were the villains, and I was getting something. So I mostly wanted them to say it for the irony of it all. I sighed and followed the all too obvious trail, trying to resist the impulse to pull out a magnifying glass and act like a detective looking for clues. The only reason I didn't was that I didn't have one. Maybe I should start carrying one. I'll have to add that to the list of props to bring, including sunglasses, a crown, and a walking cane. I'd look like the king of old detective spies. Which actually sounds pretty cool, now that I think about it. Hmmm... I continued down the hall, reaching a door that the trail led to. It was locked, and the trail seemed to stop there. How odd. What could have happened to it? Usually, trails only stopped when there was water to lose footprints or a scent. But judging by my amazing detective skills, the body was... right behind this door! I forwent the handle, and just kicked the whole door in. Being a hero was nice. I got to kick in doors, and somebody else got to pay for them! Or not, as this building was technically abandoned. I faced the room, and began my speech. “Halt! Accept you were in the wrong, and promise to stop destroying this city! Then I will give you the punishment you deserve. Your antics are disturbing the citizens peace and-” I noticed that I was talking to an empty room. Besides the dead body in the corner, but those tend not to count. It's annoying when that happens. I decided to erase that footage when I found it. Nobody needed to know about this. I noticed an open window, and leaned out, looking down just to almost get a bullet to the face from the people actually climbing down the side. The bullet was absorbed by a portal that automatically popped up, but it still blocked my vision. I pulled myself back into the room, and backed up a couple steps. I drew a pair of Sai this time, held them in a reverse grip, and then ran and jumped out the window. This should be fun. *** I'd heard about someone dropping out of a helicopter to kill someone before, but this was the closest I could get to it for now. I'd have to find a helicopter first, not to mention someone to kill. That last one should be easy though. As I dropped out, I ignored the bullets going over my head, as I heard a gasp from the would be escapees. I fell next to one of them, and swept my blades sharply across my body, trisecting one of the climbers, before falling too fast to catch the other one. I heard another scream from the one surviving one. This group wasn't very professional, was it. I mean, you just don't scream every time someone dies. It's bad form, and really annoys whoever is trying to kill you. In this case me. I actually wished I'd killed the screamer first, as it would have made this job a lot easier in my opinion. As I dropped to the earth, I created a portal that linked to another one on a building adjacent to this one. I dropped through headfirst, now aimed like a torpedo of awesomeness at the remaining resistance member. This time, I was able to stab her in the back while she looked down at the ground. Yes, it was female. I'd figured that much out from the screams. Boys yelled, girls screamed. Okay, fine. Boys occasionally screamed too. Often when I was killing them, but usually, it was the girls screaming. She gasped, which was only marginally better than a scream, coming from her, and let go, falling to the ground in a heap of internal bleeding and broken bones. I dropped next to her, my portal absorbing the damage, and watched as she tried to struggle up through the pain. She didn't quite make it, and settled for trying to pull a gun on me with her remaining good arm. My Sai quickly pinned that arm to the ground, the pain making her release the gun as she screamed. Not that I cared either way, really, as it couldn't hurt me. It just seemed irresponsible to let someone like this hold a gun. They might try shooting some civilians or something! Madmen, every one. That's what they were. After all, they had to be to try and kill me. With her last breath, she tried to act defiant, but it's hard to do that while crying so hard you can barely speak. As she tried, I heard three dull thumps and some squishy sounds as something fell to the ground behind me. Her eyes widened, and she finally managed to speak. “At least... our sacrifice... will leave... your friend... dead!” She snarled. Which is very hard to do through all that pain, and I mentally applauded her for managing it. I cocked my head to the side in mild confusion. “You mean Seef?” She looked confused. I clarified for her ignorance. “Seef. CF. Cannon Fodder. You guys were aiming for him right? And you guys were the distraction so I was out of the base while you took him out.” I shook my head sadly. “I almost pity your friends. They have no idea who they are dealing with.” I leaned in conspiratorially. “He's kinda twisted. And cruel. He enjoys playing with his food.” I winked at her. “But don't worry, he's on my team, so he's a good guy. And don't worry, you'll be joining them soon.” I dropped a small package from my belt, and it started beeping softly. Her eyes grew wide with horror, as she realized what it was. I grinned jovially at her. “Don't worry, I won't let you die like that!” Thanatos took her to the afterlife. I flicked the blade to the right in a sharp motion to clean the blade, sheathed him, and started to walk through a newly conjured portal back to the lair. “After all, I'm the good guy here.” Soon after I left, the bomb went off, and the city was missing yet another block of housing. Someone should probably fix that. *** An hour later, I realized, “Sparks! I forgot the footage!” I hope nobody ever sees that. I also forgot my Kunai, but in my defense, I was busy falling out of windows, killing people, blowing up buildings, and in general, being awesome. Edited for pic and to fix canon-y issues. Edited again for there to be a need for less bullet-deflecting in the post.
  16. Permission from comatose GET! First Seef/Falchion post should be up in a couple hours, interrupting whatever lovely action scenes are taking place.
  17. The MoA had been called before the horns. He wasn't quite sure why, as they didn't even know he existed, but he decided to go anyway. It would seem that many had made complaints against him, which was odd, because they didn't know he existed either. In all, this was a very odd situation, and he suspected that skindancers were aware of his involvement, and wanted him removed. He walked into the large chamber where the masters waited, a long cloak covering his body and face to continue hiding his identity. He would wipe the encounter from their minds afterwards, of course, but the less they knew, the less he would have to erase. And thus less chance of brain damage. The majority of these masters were still necessary, after all. One, the master of Arithmatics, cleared his throat and began. "You have been called here in response to several complaints we have received, stating that you..." The short master adjusted his glasses, and looked at a sheaf of papers in his hand. "...Dislike another student, and have made death threats against him. What do you have to say in your defense." The MoA stood still for a few moments, and then spoke. "Does it also include in those papers the fact that I had also clarified that I had no way to do so, and even if I did, I would be unable to?" The master of artifice spoke up, responding to the question. "No, they did not, but that does not reduce the gravity of making a death threat against another student. What had he done that was so awful?" "He had discovered a girl upon a roof who was without clothes for some reason, possibly after being robbed. He approached her, talked with her for a short while, giving her a dress, one that was not fit for a child to wear, might I add, and then attempted to take her to his room for... less savory activities. When she discovered his intentions and resisted, he attempted to force her to, saying it was the price for the dress and for talking to him. He only stopped when she fled." The masters collectively blinked. "And why didn't you stop him, if you found his actions so despicable?" The master of Rhetoric and Logic questioned. "As I previously stated, I was unable to do anything to him, stop him, kill him, anything besides make empty threats with no way of carrying them out that were somehow known, even though I never stated them. I am only allowed to be here due to an attempt to obey the laws of this university, and even then, the danger will be removed after I am gone." The MoA answered. "So what is my punishment for doing nothing? I am prepared to publicly apologize for not stepping in, even if it was past my capabilities, but I will not apologize or retract my statements pertaining to Wilem." The masters discussed among themselves for a short while, then seemed to reach a consensus. The master of sympathy spoke. "You are required to make a public apology, but for what, we will leave to you. That will be all for your punishment." The MoA thought he heard a continuation, and questioned it. "Is there anything else that you needed me for, besides the matter of my punishment?" The masters seemed to shuffle in their seats for a moment, apparently uncomfortable with the subject. After a moment of this, the master of naming spake cheerfully for the first time. "You're being elevate to an E'lir. They're all awkward, because this hasn't really happened before, and they are decided uncomfortable with elevating someone at the same time that they punish him. It shows either favoritism, or being slightly insane. Which they aren't. That's just me. Nobody else is allowed to be insane while I'm here." He began to cackle mildly under his breath. The MoA cocked an eyebrow at that, and inwardly snorted. He had been an El'the before the incident, and so the elevation didn't mean much to him, but at least it was official, and he should be able to have slightly more leeway when it came to it. He bowed deeply. "I thank the masters for this great honor, and promise to use the benefits that come with the station for the good of the university." After this, he turned on his heel and left the roof. The masters waited waited a moment after he left, before they began talking with each other once more. "This was a very peculiar situation. We have no record of him in our books, and nobody knows where he came from." "And then we have the matters of the complaints, where every complaint made stated what he had done to be deserving of punishment, but not a single one could say how they knew, or in what situation. They claimed they just... knew, and submitted the complaint." "We have no confirmed sightings of this figure, and nobody knows what he actually looks like, but apparently, he has done things that warrant his elevation, occurrences that are shown in our records, but we have no proof that they actually happened." "All in all, I think we can agree he is a most curious individual, and we should keep a further eye on him." The masters nodded their agreement, and then one word, the volume of a whisper, but with the force of a hurricane, entered their minds. "Erase." The masters, except for the master of naming, froze for a moment, and then seemed to wake up, and began a conversation about what other students were worthy of elevation. The master of naming just smiled to himself. This should be a very interesting year. Public apology to be in another post.
  18. If I had a kill power, would I use it on Wilem? If I could use it once a cycle, or something similar, and I didn't have any suspicions? In a heartbeat. I know I'm being biased and can't see the player for the RP, but I just want Wilem dead. I'd be happy to have Mailliw keep playing, but I want Wilem in a cold grave. I don't really have anyone else to vote for, and I do have a goal here, as well as having no proof that Mailliw isn't a traitor. If anything, I am suspicious of him, due to the fact that his RP is super distracting, and might be used to hide his actions, so we pay more attention to Wilem than we do Mailliw. Also, the MoA has been forbidden to reveal himself or kill anyone directly, so the whole assassination attempt/public slander is out.
