  1. Anyone a fan of Dilbert? Or the old-school Looney Tunes?
  2. You win an upvote simply for the title of your post. Welcome!
  3. Nope I am most definitely not a pony. For some reason, logic just rolls off me like water off a duck's back. I probably hang around people like Wayne too often though. Want a muffin?
  4. One thing I've noticed in a lot of Brandon's books is the element of sacrifice. Vin's suicide attack against Ruin (Hero of Ages) and Lightsong's sacrifice to heal Susebron (Warbreaker) both stand out in particular to me. I think that Tia and Phaedrus are going to be the most likely ones to sacrifice themselves in some way in Calamity. My thoughts are that either Tia will sacrifice herself to help bring down Prof or Phaedrus will sacrifice himself to stop Calamity.
  5. I agree. The entire environment seems to be tailor-made for an open world style of game. It would be cool if traps and strategy were the primary methods of completing objectives in the game.
  6. I'd like to join up too. You all seem like loads of fun, and observing is one of my favorite activities. I come bearing loads of delicious pastries and an odd ability to ignore any form of logic. For some strange reason, whenever I add two and two I get a banana blueberry muffin .
  7. Like you, I love playing basketball even though I'm only average in height. Volleyball is another fun sport where being tall is an advantage. One perk that a lot of people sometimes overlook is that tall people are more imposing, meaning that others are less likely to want to mess with you.
  8. I think it'll be interesting to see what drives the surviving characters to congregate in new Atlanta at the start of the story. New Orleans definitely would have been an interesting setting, but Atlanta is good too and should provide a distinctly different environment from Newcago and Babylon Restored. I also can't wait to see how the Epic leaders of Atlanta have changed the area.
  9. Wow you guys really want me to NOT take that cookie. Makes me think of that famous line: "The cake is a lie!"
  10. I'd love a cookie! My friends tell me that I belong in CA (Cookies Anonymous) all the time lol
  11. Not sure if there's anything that I'm truly afraid of. The closest I could probably come up with is that I'm afraid of being rejected by friends and family. If pushed with the right motivation, though, I could probably face my fear no matter what it was.
  12. What about reflex speed/reaction speed? When storing, you react to stimuli much slower than normal depending on the rate of storage. Then when you tap the stored power, you react much faster. If you tap enough Reaction, you essentially gain the feruchemical equivalent of ESP or "Spidey Sense." Personally, I would love having an ability like this.
  13. I'd have to go for Chrysalis (Double Cadmium). First of all, I just like being different . Second, the ability of Cadmium Ferrings to oxygenate their blood would do wonders for increasing one's stamina. Personally, I just find that awesome. I can also think of a few circumstances where speeding up time would come in handy.
  14. I grew up learning English, and have a basic understanding of Italian and Spanish. I'm working on my fluency in those two before starting with German. I'd also like to learn Portuguese and Russian at some point in time.
  15. I'd have to say that Alloy of Law is my favorite individual book so far. I'm also a big fan of westerns, so the setting for the Wax/Wayne series is heaven to me
  16. I've got an interesting idea. What if Prof's weakness is something like failing to protect someone that he cares for? It's possible that he has nightmares about the deaths of his students at the hands of another Epic and thus he is afraid of failing to protect others, which became his weakness after he gained his Epic powers. Following this tangent, what if Tia sacrifices herself in Calamity in order to bring about Prof's defeat? It was mentioned in Firefight that Prof and Tia have dated at some point in time, so he obviously cares for her in some way.
  17. Nice to meet everybody. I'm Bronzeheart and I've been reading Brandon's books since shortly after Elantris came out. I've read (and currently own) all of the Mistborn books, Elantris, Warbreaker, Steelheart, and Firefight. I'm looking to also get The Emperor's Soul and the Stormlight Archive books in the near future. Brandon is easily my all-time favorite author and I look forward to chatting with everyone about these great books. If you would like to know more about me, just ask. I'm a pretty open person.
