We need nicroburst medallions/spikes to facilitate compounding of investiture for all nicrosil twinborn. Stat. A soulbearer coinshot could probably push internal metals and glass like TLR can with enough storage, yes? That could be dangerous.

Ridiculously low number of Metalborn (Bands of Mourning Spoilers)
natc replied to DeadFencer's topic in Mistborn
While a fifth were Terris, the last of the Keepers was gone when Sazed Ascended. The surviving Terris would have no feruchemy or nearly so, and remember, the Terris of the Final Empire were themselves descendants of Terris with no feruchemy who survived Rashek's Ascension, as everyone who did became mistwraiths. Obviously carriers survived, but the blood, I presume, has been greatly diluted. -
There's not nearly enough salt about [Secret History Spoilers]
natc replied to FeatherWriter's topic in Mistborn
I'm sure most people like getting credit for doing good deeds, and Kell just seems to enjoy it more than most. Doesn't necessarily mean they mind if they don't get credit, and hell this time he saved a whole civilization and then described his background to the saved people in such a way that everyone would actually mistake him for Rashek if they didn't know the guy. Mass murder of nobles aside, after the Pits he's mostly been a good man, even a great man to most of his crew, doing (relatively) good things. Just hasn't quite dropped his tendency to bask in the glory of a challenge overcome from his thieving days, I'd say. Old habits die hard I guess? And then he generally drops the subject for the next big amazing thing that really needs done. He played up destroying Hathsin for what, all of a few sentences each before moving on with the plan? -
(Secret History Spoilers) Issues with Geometry?
natc replied to TruthlessofNalthis's topic in Mistborn
I suppose in that sense, it's not really flat at all, it's just how people's minds interpret the place to be like? It's not physical space after all, euclidean geometry isn't really a must . . . -
Submerging the spikes in blood can apparently halt the decay much as simply spiking through the donor directly into the recipient would, though it's possible to keep with the intent that the theft process itself isn't lossless.

We can maybe duralumin flare some pewter on impact for that living meteorite thing? While healing of course.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
natc replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you think about memes every time you see a pug. -
The troubles of him basically being a worse Miles Hundredlives with on-demand force fields instead of dynamite. You can't even really trap him if the fields can apply pressure against massive explosive force. He'd probably just pop the trap internally. If not vaporize it. Throw him into space. All I can think of. Then again he can probably just jump around kicking off force bubbles to send himself into reentry . . . Sparks, how do you kill this man? He has a power for everything that can possibly kill people!

So we ask questions about Calamity for now?
-
I . . . am pretty sure Scadrial's metal isn't invested at all, period.
-
Could've sworn a lot of us expected Kelsier's return ever since we learned that he's still going around doing things in HoA. Which was figured out and confirmed quite a while ago. Then his not dying after being killed apparently made it into the Words of Founding and technically became Pathian and Survivorist doctrine and he was just begging to be made important in the story again.
-
Might be the mind that goes to the Beyond, actually. The soul is made from investiture, so if that up and leaves every time someone dies we have a problem on our hands.

Character Sketches for all 256 Twinborn Combos
natc replied to christianlathaire's topic in Mistborn
And probably him having gotten used to underestimating every threat on his life since the results are generally predictable and boring. The mists suddenly being burned was a literal deus ex machina moment, let's be honest. That came out of the blue for him and then poof goes his youth. -
By that logic a dalmatian that was turned completely grey and given different morphology for genitalia. It's certainly a different species of tree at that point that's for sure.
-
Well the land being almost supernaturally fertile probably means a lot in terms of having it easy.
-
Races as a whole, I mean. Still happens, there's always oddball outliers when working with statistics, and we encounter twinborn frequently enough with Wax's patented misfortune. There seems to be a cultural shift for Elendel Terris to value pure blood with the Village scenes . . .
-
Sazed apparently likes that name more. That's the only excuse But yeah, ettmetal pretty much is probably native. Just saying that allomancy can be powered by nearly anything. Rusts, I'm sure you can probably somehow use stormlight for allomancy with a bit of hackery.
-
Being highly invested for metallic arts just means your powers are stronger. Being fullborn makes no difference in and of itself; a weak fullborn can technically exist, as can a super-powerful allomancer that is still just a coinshot. It's just that the ones so far have also used tricks to be ridiculously powerful as well (TLR being heavily modified in ways we still don't know, and Wax was granted power by a metalmind, so he can just tap faster to be more invested and be more powerful, presumably. The metalmind itself had way more power than a human has any business being anyway). Meanwhile the God King has tens of thousands of beaths. Hard to say which is more invested.
-
Seems enough to me. The point of that conversation is to highlight the rarity of twinborn. We're talking about the simultaneously presence of two already rare hereditary traits that both originate from separate races. Races that have started to not interbreed again recently. That's already rare enough, and each combination out if 256 would be extremely hard to find.
-
Well, I'm pretty sure any shard can power any system with some hoop-jumping . . .
-
As said, the airship runs on coinshots, so likely someone on the crew had an allomantic steel medallion. Feruchemy is just more convenient for survival and daily interactions in general, so no surprise we normally see those sorts and not allomancy ones.
-
Besides, Elend doesn't seem even remotely strong enough to push metal in people's stomachs like TLR. TLR even made shattered glass vibrate, I think?

theory [Bands Spoiler] Identity of the One-Eye Spike Man
natc replied to CaptainRyan's topic in Mistborn
I doubt a man recorded in the Words of Founding themselves to have survived death and held the power of Ascension is an agent of Ruin, yeah . . . Marasi specifically brings this up back in SoS. Harmony actually wrote this out in the pile of books. -
You're missing the point. The medallions all have nicrosil in them. Swallowing that and not being able to burn it sounds . . . bad.
