Nightblood is quite the attractive mystery eh? Gotta wonder how pouring too much breath into a lump of pointy steel wound up creating a talking, soul-stealing shardblade on steroids. When none of its creators even knew shardblades exist. What the hell were they visualizing?!?

I just realized Kaladin can literally play that Gravity Rush game on PS Vita using pure gyro controls for camera movement in midair.

If a Syl-sized spren can make a human sized blade maximum I wonder if Stormfather can get bigger than that. . .

Full lashing doesn't utilize gravity at all (talk about misnomers), so that's not a very good example . . . Full lashing is Adhesion, not Gravitation. Skybreakers can't full lash, but can still basic and reverse lash on top of what powers Division brings. Bondsmiths can full lash and lack gravity powers entirely in exchange for Tension manipulation. Whatever that does. So the purple spren are likely attracted the vacuum pressure generated by full lashed contact surfaces and not any sort of gravity shift.

How do we know Taln is someone else

Lightweave someone's chair to be halfway to the right of where it actually is (helps aim the landing with the angled collision). Spread tacks about where his head will land and lightweave the floor on top. Watch. If lethality is desired instead impale a dagger into the floor pointy side up. Or the classic Lightweave a bridge over a river or canyon before fighting someone that can't fly. Lightweave a spiked bed into a normal one and swap the guy's bed with it. So much kill potential.

Since I doubt it can affect things after the fact, especially not external things like the baby's genes, I'd assume you'd have to start tapping on conception. And stop storing like a really long time in advance, to make sure you actually those good genes in your sperm and the egg in question. All this is assuming you can actually direct the luck at something specific too. You might win the lottery and get promoted and still have a "bad" baby.

Not deep into physics myself, but when you apply force to something you experience the same amount of force in the other direction pushing back. Hence why jet propulsion works and gravity doesn't pull you through the floor. So theoretically as soon as you push the coin, if it works normally you should be getting pushed up, well a teensy bit at least. Though with how heavy you are I doubt you'd get far until the coin hits something and gets anchored in place. Pushing a whole mass of coins forward should definitely throw you backward more noticeably than vertical pushing though. Firing a shotgun while seated should tell you that much, and that's just a short burst at the moment of firing and not a continuous push. I swear NASA recommends handguns as survival equipment in space just for propulsion purposes. Either we're ignoring Newtonian motion, or the allomancy isn't generating force in the first place.

Best way to do what Hoid does without some other yet unknown ability he might have is to tap all your luck, choose a place to go to, and hope something important occurs by the time you arrive. I will personally use mine as pseudo-atium though. Just fight like a madman and every attack will hit someone. For more real life purposes I'll tap my luck while grinding rare drops in an RPG or something.

Well, perception time is the one thing it doesn't consistently do, since mental speed is a different power entirely and I recall it being possible to be steelrunning so quickly as to be impossible to steer yourself the right way. Slightly beyond the point where you burn up in the atmosphere from air resistance. It's definitely not just simple velocity though. There's clearly some higher concept of "speed" being involved here. Stormlight healing and bloodmaking presumably work like that as well from what I can tell, with some subconscious input as to what your healthy self is supposed to look like.

That.Doesn't matter how fast the bullet is, aside from air resistance and the reaction force of air resistance if the bullet is not speeding up or slowing down (or causes something to do so) it is experiencing 0N and exerting 0N. When fired and on impact you can measure it, but in midflight only air resistance and gravity would matter, so it's rather pointless to discuss a bullet after being fired in terms of Newtons. If you fire the gun in space it will have nearly 0N being applied to it yet maintain supersonic speeds until it hits a stray planet or gets caught in a gravitational field. While also moving directly away from the center of the universe near the speed of light (I think? I forget) because that's roughly how fast it was moving relative to that spot before it was even fired, like everything else in existence. Only the change in velocity matters for force, as velocity itself is relative with no absolute zero.

Dude heals nonstop as if he was breathing. TLR had a continuous tap going too, which is enough to apparently regenerate while being beheaded (I presume as the blade passes through his neck?) and to ignore three spears in his chest. We're talking about the subject of spiking out allomancy from someone and leaving him that way until he's convinced of not being an allomancer and he can't just heal it back. Though I guess it might not be lethal when done right. It's gotta hurt though, so here's hoping they don't heal on instinct.

Yeah, if we classify "godspren" in the same sense as "god metal" it might make more sense. It's still really just a fan term though.

Pretty sure Allo just refers to the metal.

I doubt any Returned Awakener is silly enough to give up enough breath for 8th Heightening for an experiment to awaken a sword to destroy evil.

They MUST heal immediately though, the damage is lethal.

I had you cursed earlier to never stop trying to wish your banes away, but they cursed me to help you. So yeah, need digital coffee or anything? -
I'm half asleep and can't recall the spoilee policy here. Maybe I'll tag it later if I have to. Pretty much everybody in Elend's extended family died at the hands of Vin (fiance, brother, father. . .), as Elend gladly pointed out. And then I go read HoA again and realized that Vin technically also killed herself as a suicide attack against Ruin. They were already married. Here I thought Vin had run out of family members to kill off, but she wound up continuing that streak into the grave. I found this hilarious.

So, if a feruchemist storing identity can theoretically tap other people's metalminds, what happens if he tries to tap someone else's identity?

Or Nale came and grabbed his blade recently enough for people to know what he looked like? We know for sure one blade was reclaimed right?

He probably deserves it, but we don't want too many cosmere series to end in Ascension.

Shardplate For Horses? Any Old Horse+Shardsaddle= Instant Ryshadium
natc replied to Atkion's topic in Stormlight Archive
Throw in a surgebinder that doesn't already have a surge that makes moving quickly easy to accomplish. With plate. On Shard-Ryshadium.
