  1. This thread is inactive. If you want to be added, you'll have to go to the current thread here. Great Admin Overlords, if you see this, do you mind locking this thread seeing as it's inactive and there's a new one which has replaced it?
  2. Thanks for the Day 5 write-up by the way. Nothing like reading one's own death to start the morning. *goes back to being dead*
  3. Okay. I've posted Gregory and the girl's entrance post. It was actually cut down from something longer that was planned. The rest will be revealed as time goes on... (or not. Noodle Incidents are fun.) Also, I'm still working on the surrounding text for the Sorting Hat Song, so I'll probably post it tomorrow afternoon (a.k.a. 24 hours from this post, or thereabouts). If someone else wants to post something before the Sorting Hat Song, now's the time to do it.
  4. Sorry for the incredibly long wait for this, everyone. Finally, we can get this up and running again. I'm going to post the Sorting Hat scene this time tomorrow, at the latest, so if you want to post anything before that moment (conversation at the house tables, anticipation for the waiting first years, etc., now's your chance. Gregory climbed off the train, leaving everything behind. His suitcase apparently, would be taken along seperately. He followed a cry of “First years! First years over here!”, leading in a direction towards a gigantic, brutish looking teacher. He hung back from the crowd, all squashed together (what was the point of hamming yourselves in like canned tuna?) and followed them off the platform. As they marched on, boots trudging through the mud, Gregory looked around. There was no sign of Eleanor, Lizzie, or Lorelei, but of course there wouldn’t be. Gregory smiled. At least something good would come from all of this. As the crowd ahead of him turned the corner, they began to gasp and point. Gregory rolled his eyes. They probably saw a kitten or something. Gregory never saw the point in all of this ooohhing and aaahhing. What was the point? At the end of the day, cuteness was irrelevant, Cuteness would never change the world. Then Gregory round the corner. Despite himself, he had to feel a grudging respect for the view of the great big hulking castle ahead of him, silhouetted by the moon. He’d read up on Hogwarts before he’d arrived, but somehow the view couldn’t be captured fully in photos or words. “Listen up” came the gruff voice from the front. “First years go across by boat. Four to a boat. Hurry up now. Don’t want to be late for your own sorting.” Gregory jerked back into the present moment, watching people streaming towards the boats with their new companions. Gregory hung back, looking for an unoccupied boat. Eventually, he saw one, and clambered into it, and slowly clambered onto it, trying not to rock the boat too much. Slowly, many of the boats began to drift out onto the lake, lights attached to the front of the boats illuminating the lake in a stunningly beautiful scene. “Wait!” Gregory shifted in his seat. Behind him, he saw those three, rushing up the path waving their arms. “Wait for us!” The bearded man quickly muttered a curse. Quickly, he pointed his umbrella at Gregory’s boat and muttered a quick spell, sending it to a stuttering halt just off the dock. “You three! In there, quickly!” The three waved in thanks, then turned towards the boat. And saw Gregory. There was a moment’s pause. “Well, best be off” said the teacher, climbing into a boat of his own and heading out into the lake. Slowly, the three girls walked down to the boat, watching Gregory as though they thought he might turn into a serpent at a moment’s notice. Gregory watched back. How did they -? Why -? “You’re late enough.” Gregory made sure his voice remained neutral, not giving anything away. Lorelei stared at him for a moment. “There was a delay.” She replied, in the same wary tone. Why doesn’t she just accuse me outright? She’s got nothing to lose, surely… “You’re here now, anyway” Gregory continued. “Best get in. Everyone else is halfway across the lake already.” Slowly, the girls clambered into the boat. Once they were all settled, the boat began to stream after the others. Nobody spoke. At one point, Gregory thought he saw something massive… shift under the lake, and by the sudden stiffness of the others in the boat, they probably did too. Still, nobody spoke. As the fleet in front of them began to enter the cavern, slowly cutting out all the light except from their own thin, pale beam on the front of their boat, nobody spoke. Gregory stared at the others, and the others stared at Gregory. Finally, their boat drifted into the cavern, joining it’s place on the dock. Quickly, the four of them got off the boat, joining the others waiting there, anxiously whispering about what was going to happen. Gregory chose a spot, far away from both the crowd and the group of girls, and waited. Slowly, the crowd began to follow the giant bearded man, up a series of stairs and winding passageways. Gregory tried to remember the path they took, but he soon gave up. Up one staircase, turn left, through a painting that was hurling abuse about house-elves, take another staircase to the left that turned to the right when Hagrid stepped on it, tell the armour that “The birds are in the wasp’s nest”, turn around, head into another corridor, through a hidden door, up one more staircase, until they finally seemed to reach their destination. “Wait here he said. And passed through into another room.” There was a brief glimpse of many more faces, sitting at four tables, then the door shut, and they were left alone. Each of them looked around, wondering what would happen and what the other would do next.
  5. OK, I just added you to the mod list. You should now have mod powers over the map.
  6. Seeing as the spear was pointing towards the ground, hence why Wayne was able to kick it off, I doubt it is.
  7. Is there any reason why this hasn't been updated in the Doc? (I'm not too inexperienced or anything?)
  8. I can't turn down a faction game. Count me in. Signing up as "The Mysterious Figure". (If you have a problem with that, never mind, but eh. It might be fun.
  9. Wow... There's another video game series besides Pokemon, Angry Birds and Super Mario Bros? This is... revolutionary. (In all seriousness, though, I've never played it. Sorry. *cringes and runs away*)
  10. And for most people. It's impossible for most wind orchestra players that I'm in an orchestra with.
  11. I had no idea about a name registration in Poland (makes me wonder about that impossible sounding name in the Harry Potter RP now). I have an Irish name, which there are about half a dozen variations of. However, my father's name is Rory, which I've heard a lot worse about. Here's one variation of the name "Rory": In terms of circular breathing - only a few people can do it. It's not common, even among professional instrument players. Partly because of the tone thing that Kaymyth mentioned, partly because it's just really, really difficult to do. I've tried doing it, and... it didn't go well. At best, I might have done it for about half a second, but I probably imagined it.
  12. @Mestiv and whoever else is interested - I've finished the first part of what I've got to write (the boat scene with Gregory, Lorelei, Lizzy and Eleanor [does anyone else think that those three need a group name or something so we don't have to constantly refer to them all individually? {yeah, double triple brackets!}]), and it's ready to go once I get the OK from Honor and Mist. @The Honor Spren, I'm not sure if you've still got trouble with PM notifications, so I'm letting you know here. I've written the Sorting Hat Song itself from the second part, and just need to write up the surrounding RP, which I'm getting to now.
  13. Also, maybe I should mention that my play-style will be different this game. I'm testing something that I was talking about in a PM with Elb. EDIT: Never mind. I never got to work this out in time.
  14. Thanks Ripple for a good game. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Interesting twist with the Shade thing. Also, kudos for Elb for the passing thing, and for calling out Joe as an Eliminator. Until I learned that Joe's silver powder was used up with that kill (was it mine? I can't even remember anymore), I had a medium village read on Joe. I'm pleasantly surprised to hear you say that. Honestly, I felt in the last 2 games that I was blundering around wildly with guesses for most of the game. This might sound strange, but being eliminator-kill worthy for my skill is strangely encouraging. (Not that I support you killing me, FYI. I like staying alive too. )
  15. I'm also doing the scene where Gregory and the 3 girls get off the train. I know I've been delaying this for ages - and I'm really sorry about that, but I'll probably be home sick tomorrow, which will give me a bit of spare time to finish it. I'm really sorry about this, I know I've gone far beyond any reasonable limits of when I should have done it. I've just been busy with a bunch of RL stuff as well.
  16. This looks like a problem with where the link goes. If you go here, it works.
  17. Something that would be great for a BT, if it's set up. All villagers get told something or other. It might be game relevant, or it might not be (I haven't decided yet.) The eliminators aren't told. Then, the villagers can try to work out who the eliminator is by their knowledge (or lack there-of) of this fact. E.g. Villagers are told that the eliminators only have to lynch The Young Bard to win the game. The villagers can then cross-examine everybody else to see whether they know this fact. However, if it's in a public thread, then the eliminators will know the answer if it's too obvious, or they could get lynched if it's too vague or cryptic. Even if it's in a PM, the asker could be an eliminator, trying to fish for information. What do you think?
  18. Yes!!! Faction Game! Signing up as Ranel. RP to come later.
  19. One, that's a very incomplete list. Considering that Conq and Elodin, 2 people you skipped, are two of my biggest suspicions besides you. I voiced my suspicions for you through most of the game, but I did so because you were one of the only people who I actually had solid evidence to point to to vote for. In addition, I only actually voted for you for... C2, I think, because after that I saw it wasn't going to happen. Similar story with Conq by now. It doesn't mean I trust you though. If a lynch train forms on you, I will vote on you, but I don't intend on starting that train anymore unless something else comes up. There hasn't been much talk from @Master Elodin at all. He seems to be borderline active, and I'd like to hear more from him, at the very least. In addition, some of the posts he made weren't game-relevant (talking about Lopen and his profile pics - possibly a way to appear active without giving anything away), and one of the few comments he did make cast suspicion on some people for no real reason (I'm talking about the 'this many poke-votes makes one of you an eliminator' comment), and he failed to explain his reasoning later on when he was asked about it. He also failed to pass yesterday for no reason other than forgetting.
  20. I just tried looking it up. Turns out, it hasn't been published in Australia. Sorry.
