  1. I freaking loved this short story. I once I started, I couldn't put it down. The similarities in the bird/worms and alamancy are stark. I think that the methods are also similar. The only thing that is extremely different is the bestowing of power. Investiture can do this without spikes. Kind of. Just pointing out facts.
  2. Yes yes yes yes. That last paragraph sounds like a perfected version of my theory. Adolnasium is a lower God that God himself created. God is still alive and whole, while this lesser God was shattered! Ha!
  3. In this thread, and many others I want to generate, I want to gather facts about Hoid. Everything at is known for sure about him. No speculation. What are his likes and dislikes? What does he do for fun? What powers does he have FOR SURE? Extrapolate from the books. If it doesn't have a quote from Sanderson or one of his published books, it shouldn't be here. (Quotes from Sanderson should be confirmable, meaning no personal interview quotes) (No quotes from chapters that are not published) (No quotes from the Letter as that IS only a theory) Put where you got the quotes from and, if necessary, a link to the interview. Have fun, keep opinions out.
  4. The question isn't "who is Hoid." The question is "<i>WHY</i> is Hoid. Why does Hoid do what he does? The simple answer is that we don't know. No amount of theorizing on this forum will create answers, no matter what some people believe (Shaggai, I'm talking to you). Hoid is a RAFO enigma that we won't know the answers to until we RAFO. Incidentally, I don't think Hoid wrote either of the Letters. I think it's a third party we have yet to even consider. Chew on that for a bit, but don't spit it out because you don't like the texture.
  5. Don't just say "it's Hoid" and move on. Hoid isn't the answer to everything. If you are rereading the books, try looking for people who looked confident even when being caught in a lie. Incidentally that description is given to Tuvlakv the slaver. I'm not saying he's a lightweaver, but I am saying it's a possibility. He does fit some of the qualifications concerning personality. Think about it. (In reference to the earlier lightweaver debate)
  6. This is an audition I recorded today.
  7. If we are Fans of Brandon Sanderson, then we are FoBs. Just so you know. If we did Cosmere Philosophers, we could put directly underneath it "A Brandon Sanderson Fanclub." That would make it less ambiguous instantly.
  8. Should I create a new theory based on this in a new thread?
  9. Oh, sure! When the writer of the Letter said that Rayse had all of the wrath of God with none of the context which gives it meaning is my first clue that the people of the Cosmere still have God to give them a point of reference. Odium is an attribute of God, so are Preservation and so forth. That can mean two things. First, that God has been shattered. Second, copies of God's attributes were made and that was broken and scattered throughout the Cosmere, leaving God to orchestrate a plan to put it back together.
  10. Yeah, everyone read this one year's ago. That makes me a little sad.
  11. Dalinar was told by the Almighty to vex Odium, cconvince him that he could loose, and coax him into a fight. That way they would have a chance of destroying him. That's what I think was said. God is just God. I think do think that it's just a copy of his attributes.
  12. Yeah, probably.
  13. Cosmere os so damnation clever. On a scale from one to even, I cant.

  14. Alright, that sounds good! More names to kick around: Sanderson's Cosmere Philosophers Philosophers of the Sanderverse (Not my favorite) Bridge Four Philosophers (Raises a similar concern as before) Sanderson Crewleaders Sanderson Worldsingers (I like this one in particular because I think I am clever) There you go. Those are some ideas off the top of my head.
  15. That's true, but it will get people asking questions. If someone sees that and thinks "this sounds cool and I have nothing to do this weekend," they will come. When they come, we can welcome them into our group and give them a reading assignment or whatever. The key would be to make them feel welcome. If they feel welcome they will want to come back, maybe bring a couple friends. I think it's a name that can bring this kind of intregue. That's just me.
  16. What about Cosmere Philosophers?
  17. What's up with you and cookies, bro?
  18. I like the ideas a lot, particularly the singing and round table ones. Discussions in-depth on specific topics are some of my favourite. Good suggestions for sure, New One.
  19. Lol, I'm sure he would have loved cookies. There is a certain truth to the way they are made deliciously, speaking artistically. He would have gobbled the truth up (pun intended).
  20. Hello, twenty! Is it alright if I contact you with a few questions about your beliefs? I like to learn about religions.
  21. I know I would love to come, and I know I have a friend who would want to come. That's two, then counting yourself it's three. Then your three friends make six. Good enough to start something?
  22. I have stayed at Spren and Darkeyes. Every time I get a point up someone demotes me. I tick off and please equal number of people, I guess.
  23. That perfectly answered my question. Thank you! It was clear and concise, as well as somewhat entertaining. Well done, and thanks again!
  24. Connor, how do you know that Kel is alive? More, how do you know that Wit and Kel don't like each other??? I must know!
