  1. No. I find the idea of him winning the election to be terrifying. The best case scenario is that he gets bored a few months in and comes up with an excuse to resign in a fit of pique. He's not a politician. He's a billionaire (who has filed for corporate bankruptcy four or five times) and a reality TV star. He's all bluster and no substance.
  2. I enjoyed the Parasol Protectorate books, but I haven't actually read too much other steampunk stuff. I just love the costuming and the gadgetry in all their pretty, pretty gloriousness. But I think a lot of the reason I love Mistborn Era 2 so much is because of the sneaky steampunk flavoring that's been slipped in. I am, as it happens, a cosplayer. I sew. I make corsets. I'm working on a crazy armored Jean Grey costume right now. If you wanna see stuff, poke the link in my sig.
  3. And he wears a venomous caterpillar on his head.
  4. For having a never-ending rotation of adjectives. For being someone I don't know too well, but having a really cool wingy-person avatar. And now everyone skipped has been got!
  5. You get a deus ex machina! *inserts silly string*
  6. Resist! It's not worth it! The power of fanfiction compels you!
  7. To be fair, I'm not entirely certain that the Dark Alley's baked goods have any gluten. Or any bread at all. They tend to be primarily made out of metal...
  8. Welcome, long-lost secret comrade-in-reading! If you've been lurking for that long, then I am going to assume you already understand the dangers of accepting baked goods on this site.
  9. She also likes having the freedom to change her mind at whim and use gaslighting techniques to try and convince you that the new thing is what she's said all along.
  10. Hooray! I'm not the only polytheist on the board anymore! I'm Kemetic and my husband is an atheist, but we still celebrate the season. I tend to focus more on the Yule aspects (just 'cause I've still got some Wiccan remnants floating around in my personal practice), but we put up a tree, decorate it (I have the entire run of Order of the Stick ornaments ), buy gifts for each other, etc. Our families are also all still Christian, so it's hard to completely disconnect from the holiday when it has such a strong family connotation.
  11. Steampunk is cool. Like bow ties and fezzes, it will always be cool. I don't even care if the gears don't do anything they just look cool, dagnabbit. And this stuff is fantastic. I have just enough drawing skills that I can kinda sorta sketch out some of my costume designs, but that's about it.
  12. For eating an entire giant crab and not sharing its deliciousness. I...have not, actually. I am part of a circle of friends that just uses nerd slang as a matter of course. I picked up 'grok' from them.
  13. Probably one or more of our newer members have been backscrolling established threads and finding your older art posts.
  14. I don't know what you're talking about.
  15. FRED AND GEORGE HITTING VOLDEMORT IN THE FACE REPEATEDLY WITH SNOWBALLS
  16. Yep! You all take in oxygen through your skin, right?
  17. For not grokking the notion that I have limited oxygen reserves.
  18. I HAVE a bluetooth earpiece! What I DON'T have is enough oxygen! #asthmaticsgottabreathe,yo
  19. Woot! Just shoot me a text beforehand and we can line up schedules. I'd hate for you to call me when I'm on the elliptical or something - I can't talk and run at the same time.
  20. Hooray! I'm off work that Monday (I'll be in Con Recovery Mode from working Naka Kon), so if you have any panic moments or just need some moral support, you can call me. All other days, you can text.
  21. This...this is brilliant.
  22. Well, and you have us, of course. (Would you really need to kidnap one? I mean, come on, you're a librarian. They should be following you around of their own accord.)
