    Yay! MOAR YAY! I am currently at Costume Con. There are lots of people in amazing costumes. Some of those people in amazing costumes have been oooh'ing over the costume I was wearing today. I took a selfie and posted it to FB. ...the selfie is on my phone, and I do not have a USB cord to connect it to my computer for posting here, so I'm afraid you all will have to wait to see it. Tomorrow is the competition for my armor. I has some slight nervouses.

    Though you also have to take into account the foregone conclusion that Rubix and firstRainbowRose would almost certainly be on the same side. Me, I'd probably summon my inner Doctor and stick them all in a room with a pair of Osgood Boxes and things would be all back to normal by teatime. Was thinking the same thing, more or less. Not saying anymore. Twi, don't you DARE click that spoiler tag! I am celebrating Star Wars Day with my hair in Leia buns.

    I think she's supposed to be a point of sympathetic conflict in the early season. A lot of the themes on Buffy are intended as an allegory for growing up; at that age, parents who are well-meaning but also a pain in the chull fits the theme.

    She gets better. The woman is really going through some trauma - recently divorced and she had to move because her daughter burned down a school building. So yeah, there's some actual reasons she's as shaky as she is with the whole parenting thing. But as I said, she gets better. Learning about what's really been going on with Buffy helps a lot.

    Just issue a report on the poster(s) and NOT the individual posts. That points them in the right direction to just ban the spam account and clear the board of its threads.

    Nah, nothing sensitive. He just couldn't figure out why there were multiple entries for each data point. (I knew, of course, but did he ask me? No...)

    Heh. What happened yesterday wasn't really to do with the tech side of things. I needed a certain data set of rates from a certain subset of customers, but it wasn't something I could easily pull from the system myself so I requested a special ad hoc report. IT, of course, really doesn't understand the rates or what they mean, and the guy who was pulling the data was trying to understand something he had no background for. So he was trying to filter things down into something HE could understand, rather than just giving me the raw data and letting me have at it. And, you know, sitting there and trying to understand it for hours on end without actually ASKING ME.

    Actually, I think he really was about to Splinter Preservation after Leras died, but Kelsier took up the power and prevented it. So basically, his lower power level meant that he was unable to Splinter a Shard that was currently held by some form of consciousness. Even the weak shadow left of Leras was enough to fight him. He started the process as soon as Leras was dead, but Kelsier grabbed Preservation and thwarted him.
