OK, then. Now, this isn't going to be a step-by-step of the patterns. I don't feel like I could add much of value just parroting off what the pattern instructions say. Rather, this is going to be how I do things that aren't already explained in the given instructions (or how I totally change/ignore those instructions), along with extra things that I do. I want to feel like I'm giving you information that you couldn't easily get just from attempting to do it yourself. Edited to add: I might also try to do wings. I think I've got the time to attempt to pull off a relatively simple open/close mechanism.

The board doesn't seem to notify for downvotes, so I'm not sure there's much to see other than "you got rep".

So....with this new costume. I'm making this from the ground up, right down to the corset and chemise. And I was wondering...is there any interest in me documenting the project and creating some How I Did It posts in my cosplay thread?

Of COURSE I will. I have scads of purple polyester dupioni. Just ordered a few yards each of a different shade of purple and pink. Victorian (dare I attempt steampunk?) Twilight Sparkle will happen. Oh yes.

I may have just purchased the patterns necessary for making a Twilight Sparkle-themed Victorian dress.

Well, I don't have any of those, so I'm safe for a while.

Yep, I downloaded Pokemon Go. Apparently my house is a spawn point, 'cause I keep finding beasties in my backyard. *hisssssss* No! Go download your own Pokemon Go! You do not have to wait! Go play Go! I have never actually owned a Pokemon game, despite having multiple generations of Game Boy. But this is an app that just downloads onto my phone and overlays Pokereality onto our own. There's a Pokestop and a Gym just down the street. So far, I've caught a Charmander (my Starter), a Bulbasaur (he just wandered into the house), two Rattata, a Pidgey, a Krabby, and a Nidorino. I should not have been able to catch the Nidorino while only at level 3, but he appeared in my yard just before bed and I figured eh, why not toss a Pokeball? And lo and behold I got lucky and caught him. I am the Pokemon whisperer.

Chocolate mousse, probably. (Not really. The gods eat pretty much the same stuff we do.)

I absolutely love the slight suggestion of a hint of steampunk to the Era 2 books. But I'm also looking at this from a costume nerd point of view - the Era 2 costume possibilities are magnificent. Corsets! Bandoliers of metal vials! Fascinating gadgetry! I'm a sucker for this sort of thing. Heh. Light-hearted. Technically true - but he counters that light-heartedness with some serious punches in the Feels, which I think pulls the tone back into balance. I adore Era 2. It's my favorite era out of my favorite Sanderson series.

The burn healing process, after having gone on for two weeks, has now reached the "oozing" stage. Stupid second degree oven burns. This is why I don't usually bake, people - because the blood sacrifice necessary just isn't worth it.

This just made the whole thing about five times as funny. XD I would like at this point to disclaim that I had nothing to do with the making of The Only Joe's signature, and in fact originally thought it was a variable one that pulled the name of the person looking at it like Mestiv's does.
