Right. Not allowed to hurt Wayne in any way that he can't grow back.

Nah, Kobold was talking about spiking to steal the power, not give him new ones.

LIES. Wayne is too clever to be caught by your shenanigans! Go back in time and spike Miles or something. Nobody will miss him.

Regarding Spook: Yeah, we know that Lestibournes isn't his given name, it's just the name that he chose for himself, which is what makes it real to him. There's a WoB out there that states that Spook was actually named after his father, and that's why he won't use it.

Still Having a Bad Day? Exchange Your Rants For Hugs Here!

A chigger is a tiny mite that lives in the grass. In its larval stage, it's practically invisible to the naked eye, and it likes to, er... It generally takes 1-3 days for the bites to show up; by the time you itch, the chiggers are long gone. -

Mosquitoes find me to be delicious as well. But! I have found that the little Off fan thingies actually work. I spent an entire evening outside this summer wearing one of those things, and didn't get mosquito-bitten at all! ...unfortunately, the chigger bites more than made up for it. -

You Know You're a geek/nerd when...

I'm afraid I must also debunk this. If this were true, then we would have solved so many problems a few years ago when my poor dog was attacked by a standard poodle. She needed stitches. My husband cried like a baby. -
I am working on my second draft of Swift as Steel, my Era 2 Mistborn fanfic novel. I am pleased with how the rewrite is coming out, and I believe that it will be ready to go out for beta reading before the end of the year. I'd like to get it all done during NaNo, but I'm not sure that's going to happen. For one thing, I only just finished my read-through and notation wherein I scribble all over the manuscript and tear it to shreds. I just started writing last night. (Granted, I did over 5,000 words in one go, but still.) For another thing, because I started the first draft for last year's NaNo win, I'm not allowing myself to even start counting my words until I've already achieved 50,088 (which is where I ended it last year). So. Yeah. That means I have to make it to 100,000 in order to win.

Well, this is unsurprising. I mean, Stick has got to be in there somewhere.

You Know You're a geek/nerd when...

Add to this the myth of the "fake geek girl". I hate this. I hate it with the fire of a thousand suns. Fortunately, no poor mortal has been fool enough to try to accuse me of being one of these yet, as the wrath that I would exude could scorch the face of the Earth. Or at the very least, make a grown man cry. -
I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. That might just be the cutest thing I have seen all month.

Still Having a Bad Day? Exchange Your Rants For Hugs Here!

I'm pretty sure that this is a thing that could happen. Sewing machines are glorious things, and running LEDs into a pair of socks is not outside the realm of possibility. -
Take this one step farther: All stories are channeled through the spiritual and cognitive realm from their origin points - alternate universes. Every story ever told exists somewhere. This idea is both awesome and highly disturbing at the same time.

I just fixed it. That seemed rather a harsh reaction to me.

For me, it was late October last year, but I think I lurked for a while. I really started posting stuff in November and I had a lot of Ooklas responding. So many Ooklas. I had no idea what was going on.

But it's worse than you think. You do realize that in your non-technological utopia, there will be no printing presses? There would never be another Sanderson book. I am in favor of this idea. The madness of Ookla Season - Peter's birthday through Brandon's birthday. You know what's really fun? Joining the board just before Ookla Season and getting active right during it, and not having a single rusted idea of why all of these Ooklas are running around. I was so confused.

Still Having a Bad Day? Exchange Your Rants For Hugs Here!

What Edgedancer said. Also, dogs have all the loves. Loving one human does not mean that they don't love the other humans. Besides, how long do you think your mother can keep this up before Bruce does something she doesn't approve of and she decides to "punish" him? -

If it helps, dogs don't understand resentment. He might be a little bit confused and stressed at the change for a while, but that has nothing to do with any of this and will just make him cling to you. Your mom can't steal your dog, however much she may try. -
Thanks! It'd still need to be a spike into the blood, I think. Swallowing it shouldn't work, or else Ruin would be messing with every Mistborn who burned atium.
-
I personally hold to the theory that atium doesn't need to be hemalurgically charged to create a link to Ruin. It's a piece of him; stick it in yourself, and boom! Instant scary godphone.
