Funniest Scenes in Stormlight Archive (so far)
Hoid Is Dead replied to Tetriona's topic in Stormlight Archive
I can't remember the chapter but it is funny when Wit came back to the camps before the end of the book. Kal: You! Wit: Me! Adol: You! Wit: Me! Shal: You! *hugs* Wit: Don't know what will do. -
Nobody is fighting, I think. Well as you say yourself, it might be an explosive topic.
-
What I am saying is, it would be awkward for Kaladin. Just imagine dating your friend's ex. Well it will be awkward for me, but if it not with you, then it is not. Simply as is, different opinions man. Adolin is now confiding with Kaladin right? So is he regarded as friend? Edit: Jenet can date anyone, just not Kaladin :PPP
-
Yes I am sure that Adolin, and I'm speaking in general (lower status vice versa). If you have read my previous replies in this thread, I have already said that a romantic relationship would be impossible, because Syl is insubstantial. I have said that I would prefer them to be, but it is impossible. Knowing that fact, I haven't yet cosidered them having physical intimacy. Regarding of Syl being the personification of Kaladin's honor, it is true, but also, Syl is not born because Kaladin is honorable, she is 'alive' long before Kaladin, I remember that she looked for him, with the help of her cousins/windsprens, and that sprens in the cognitive realm have their own thoughts. As for Adolin and Kaladin's would-be partner would overlap, I think you are mistaken, Roshar is a vast world, I honestly believe that Adolin did not courted them all. What I really wanted to say is dating Adolin's Ex would be awkward.
-
As I have said before, I'm not born from the west, I have a different insight. No. I would not. Based on my readings, Shallan and Pattern's conversation is like a teacher-student relationship, compared to Kaladin and Syl which is friendlier. As I have said earlier, Adolin's ex, not every woman in the warcamps is adolin's exs. I'll just edit the comment. I am sorry. As for Kaladin and Syl why are you disturbed?
-
Well it is really about luck, and I consider myself lucky. I'm looking forward for my wedding day. As you say about Adolin's shyness, I think you are right, but my opinion stands because it we really do not have anything else about Jenet and him. What do you mean about Kaladin? Is there something I am missing? Please share! As for your last sentence, I think it really varies in the individual.

But is getting revenge by assassinating Amaram honorable? I agree with you in the Adolin part but he really should not have hide the fact that he killed Sadeas.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Hoid Is Dead replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
You know you're a sanderfan when you smile when you see a stick. -
I know i know, but for me, as I once stated, it is on my opinion. I grew up in a very traditional household, so as I grew up, "purity" is very important. I don't really know if Adolin gets her hands on Jenet but setting that aside, can you at-least picture yourself having a relationship with your boss's ex? So it is a matter of perspective, anyway, Jenet doesn't have any thing else to offer as for the moment, so I can't say anything more.
-
Sadeas should have survived. - He's like the semi-major antagonist in the series, I think he died prematurely, maybe because they wanted to focus on the ghostblood more or the parshendi as the 'enemies'. But still, good riddance. More Elohkar & Gaz POVS - He is seeing things in the corner of his eyes, they should have atleast give like 1-2 fillers for them. Less Shallan's family POV - the one killing small animals did nothing important, for me. (sorry)

Just butting in! Based on Syl's expression in the chasm when Kaladin wants to end Amaram, I quote. Kal : "It's justice, Syl, you tell me that I need to protect. If I kill him, that's what I'm doing! Protecting people etc. etc." Syl : "I don't like how you get, when you think about him. You stop being you. etc." Based on my assumptions, Syl is attracted to Kaladin because he is a son of honor and Syl is an Honor spren (obviously), Syl said that Kaladin stops being him (honorable), and that Syl disapproves of Kaladin's decisions (killing Amaram). Syl disapproves because the act is presumably not honorable. So my conclusion, honor is doing what you have to do, in the "right" way. Going into Adolin's murder, he acts based on his feelings, but is that right? Well for some it is, because Sadeas deserve to die, but based on their Alethi Codes of War, RESTRAINT, Adolin clearly violates this because he acted based on his anger. "Right Way" - based on others perspective, in this case, Alethi morals. So 'honorable' for me, is doing what is right, in the right place at the right time.

Sorry man, I can see where my comment went too far. Its just in my perspective, that I prefer an ideal relationship, i.e. no previous relationship/attachments or whatsoever (MY perspective). As for giving her the physical contact, I totally overlooked that kaladin can hold her while she's on that form. But if that's the case, wouldn't that relationship will just be the same as Vasher and Nightblood? Once again sorry.
-
She did that in WOR(SCARS 41) but still too insubstantial, I don't know about WOB, what is WOB any way?
-
Yeah, because she is a spren, there would be no real physical contact between them. I couldn't really say, but I think that's it.
-
Well given that the scene is her only appearance(correct me if I am wrong), I don't have anything to say about her, given her attitude, it would be funny to see some character growth in her with Kaladin getting in quarrels. But I think it would be impossible because Kaladin is a now. ^ Only my opinion.
-
Personally I would like Syl to be his partner, but that would be impossible. Anyway, I just finished that chapter where he rode the horse with "spunk", looking back, I can conclude that Jenet is Adolin's previous girl. I would not want to see Kaladin getting Adolin's EX Edited: Because very offensive.

I'm not an expert but in my opinion, war is the reason why humanity progresses. In this case, in the shattered plain, the spheres are "flowing", thanks to the chasm fiends, so near infinite income. With this resources, you can support the researches. Another one is that they needed something new to defeat the parshendi. So they are now forced to think on how to make new things. Iirc, Navani doesn't have the time to research based on WOR. The ardents are limited in ideas cause of their religion (Sould Casting is very limited thanks to their GOD can only make this things etc.). Keep in mind that this is based on my memory, lol. feel free to correct me. So like Tesla, even if you are a genius, you still needed someone to sponsor you. "Kalak will teach you to cast bronze, if you have forgotten this. We will Soulcast blocks of metal directly for you. I wish we could teach you steel, but casting is so much easier than forging, and you must have something we can produce quickly. Your stone tools will not serve against what is to come" - quote from 1-7 taln wordss of radiance Long story short, they didnt know/forget how to cast steel. So, electricity will be expensive, because it would be underground (cause of highstorms). No time to research electricity because they already have fabrials. Again, please correct me if I am wrong.

What's YOUR Talent?
Hoid Is Dead replied to Silus - Shard of Flame's topic in Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians
My talent lets me butt-in in conversations. -
Thanks! I'll definitely try to find Elantris, ah, so that's why Steelheart is short, it's for teens. Yeah, already finished the mistborn trilogy, and AOL too. On the list so far. Thanks guys! Elantris (priority). Rithmatist. bread Mitosis

I just finished steel heart. Now I want something else. Can anyone help me? I think I want to read more of Brandon's work. I'm not picky, since reading Steelheart, he made me want to read all of his book, but the question is what next? Thanks! I have read: Mistborn Warbreaker WOK WOR Steelheart What next? I've tried reading wheel of time but it bores. Thanks! P.S. Steel heart is really great, damnation, Mr. Sanderson is epic.

I think It would be useful if it is used in the early books, for distractions in battle. Uh, maybe a Radiant can communicate with the blade, with the owner, to somehow revive the spren? I remember Syl saying that the oaths are the only one that is broken.

Hoid drinking at the fair (Cosmere Implications)
Hoid Is Dead replied to PallonianFire's topic in Stormlight Archive
Uhm, a question, where did you read this? I don't remember reading this chapter :S -
Isn't it Pattern that made him hear a voice? Nvm.
-
Note that in the book, it is stated that he can be revived using the right fabrials, but it never did say that he is revived by fabrials. Just finished re-reading Words of Radiance, and so, I came up with this conclusions: Szeth is dead. Szeth is revived by XXXXX. Szeth became a returned. Szeth is now like the ones(I dunno) in the Warbreaker, hence, can communicate w/ Night blood. Therefore, I conclude, that Szeth can now wield Nightblood and not die, because, he has now access to breaths. Questions: Zahel = Vasher? = Nale? If so, Words of Radiance happened after the events in Warbreaker, a couple of Centuries ago. If so, access to Stormlight healed Vasher, made him a mortal again, whilst having access to breaths too.
