  1. You certainly are persistent, aren't you? we shall see...
  2. I'm going to the Philly signing. I'd planned to ask a Warbreaker-related question, but I think you're right, Fifth of Daybreak. Instabam is WoB-worthy.
  3. This is a mask that my wife made me for a New Years' Eve masquerade ball we attended. It's definitely Shen and not just some random Parshendi, as you can see his Bridge Four tattoo.
  4. Maybe if you Awakened the clothes with some Breaths...
  5. Mmmm, I would definitely enjoy that.
  6. Even better than The Pink Pinkness.
  7. You don't need to read it to prep for Firefight, but it is a good read and very quick.
  8. I thought this when I first read this, too. I think that the "S" being Superman's symbol makes sense, since there are so many parallels between Steelheart and the Man of Steel, particularly in the way that they appear (the physical descriptions of him all sound like they are describing Superman, they both fly, etc). Of course, unless the eventual Steelheart picture gets picked up by WB, it will be really tough for them to secure the rights to use it, as we know that Brandon wrote this thinking that a film version was an eventual possibility.
  9. Pshaw, 30-somethings could totally pull off Megan. At this point, I don't plan on a costume, but if I did it would probably be Breeze or Highprince Sebarial...
  10. I think that this could make a huge difference in the fight. Szeth always seems like he's trying to find an excuse to die/kill himself anyway. A powerful push of emotional allomancy could keep him extremely distracted, to say the least. And we've seen Szeth's thought process when he fights, he has trouble really paying attention anyway. He gets distracted enough, he's going down.
  11. My wife and I went to a masquerade ball for New Year's Eve. She surprised me with this Shen mask that she'd painted (she used one of my old masks from Sleep No More for it). I was quite tickled. Hope you guys enjoy! (I'm very new, so I hope that this is an ok place to post this. If not, just let me know). - Andrew Stirling MacDonald
  12. Hello, all. My name is Andrew Stirling MacDonald. I am a writer, video producer, composer and actor living in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I've worked as a composer on a number of projects including Twenty Third Street Production's Exile, Perfection, Come On Down, Shindigital Productions' Into the Black (a Firefly fanfilm), and several professional theatre productions. I've worked worked as a producer for Twenty Third Street Productions for the past twelve years, and have been the showrunner for Exile, a post-apocalyptic web series. In real life, I can often be found writing unpublished novels, monopolizing pianos, extolling philosophies I understand little about and valiantly attempting to raise my three adorable children. I wear kilts exclusively and have a giant bushy beard. I stumbled upon Sanderson about a year and a half ago, after purchasing a kindle used from a friend and finding the Mistborn trilogy on it. Since then, I've read all of the major cosmere works (I still have yet to read "Sixth of the Dusk" and "Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell," as well as the Way of Kings stuff in the Altered Perceptions anthology, but they are all on my list). I also read Steelheart and Mitosis, and am looking forward to Firefight. My favorites so far have been The Stormlight Archives and Warbreaker, though I've enjoyed all of his novels.
  13. I will be attending the Philly book signing as well. Afterwards, my wife and I will be visiting the a.bar in Rittenhouse square, 18th and Walnut st, NE corner. I'd love to hang out with some fellow 17th Shard enthusiasts and discuss the cosmere and anything else. My brother Paul is a bartender there, and has a whole series of Dune-themed drinks he offers on request, for those who are a fan of Frank Herbert's series as well. It's about 9 miles from the signing. I'd also certainly be up for meeting up somewhere beforehand.
