  1. Song lyrics: "The meek shall inherit the earth! And then the murders began..." 2112 by Rush. Actually makes sense in context with the rest of the song. "Finally the hills are without eyes, They are tired of painting a dead man`s face red, With their own blood. And then the murders began." Bye Bye Beautiful by Nightwish "The kisses of the sun - Were sweet I didn't blink I let it in my eyes - Like an exotic drink The radio playing songs - That I have never heard I don't know what to say - Oh not another word And then the murders began" Around the World by ATC "The night was black, without a moon, the air was thick and still. And then the murders began" Witch Hunt by Rush "Folks, here's a story 'bout Minnie the Moocher She was a red-hot hoochie-coocher She was the roughest, toughest frail And then the murders began" Minnie the Moocher by Cab Calloway And, my personal favourite, "Immi daga uimpi geneta, Lana beððos et' iouintutos Blatus ceti, cantla carami And then the murders began" Omnos by Eluveitie (sorry I couldn't translate the last line)
  2. I'm surprised at how many people have band dreams... musical as I am, that is one I legitimately have never had. Most of my dreams seem to involve me getting resignedly thrown into dramatic situations of questionable morality. It's a bit of a tossup of whether it's me or one of my friends that goes to prison. I've also been shot quite a few times. Oddly satisfying (not from my mental issues, far as I can tell, more just the satisfaction of having done something so dramatically and climatically appropriate.) One of my favourite dreams was the one where I died in a car crash and turned into a vampire, went to the hospital, and screwed with the nurses by sometimes having a heartbeat and sometimes not so they weren't sure if I was alive or dead. It was quite funny, as I recall. Then my friend's sister showed up and I convinced her to help me escape, and also use her as a feeding source (my dreams often dive into rather odd logistic details one normally wouldn't think about in a dream). Also, I dream in third person.

  6. You realize that it's probably gonna be bought by someone who gets the reference anyway, yeah? edit: Totally awesome idea for some other time, you should totally make a Lurcher shield. Like, make a sweet shield, then burn decorations and stuff onto it, with a giant Allomantic iron symbol in the middle.
  7. With the chip taken out of it, it almost feels to me like it's releasing the inner destruction of the Dustbringers, like some sort of entropic charm. TBH, think it's pretty cool that way.
  8. It's been, what... two years? About time.
  9. At Pentecost, there were a group of Jesus' followers together after he'd died. While they were all there together, they became in tune with the Holy Spirit and some of them started prophesying in a way that everybody understood what they were saying in their native language. In LDS history, during the dedication of the first temple in Kirtland Ohio, they reported a similar experience. According to an account by Joseph Smith, the prophet at the time, "A noise was heard like the sound of a rushing mighty wind, which filled the Temple, and all the congregation simultaneously arose, being moved upon by an invisible power; many began to speak in tongues and prophesy; others saw glorious visions; and I beheld the Temple was filled with angels, which fact I declared to the congregation"
  10. The Day of Pentecost in the New Testament for general Christianity is one In the LDS (mormon) church, we had the Kirtland Temple dedication, which was similar to Pentecost, and a few other examples in the Book of Mormon Looking around a bit online, the Aztecs also had an instance of mass revelation when they were told to uproot themselves and move to Tenochtitlan (a move with some surprising parallels to the Israelite migration).

  23. So, I haven't been on here since about a week before the site was updated (about six or seven months ago) so I'm still getting the hang of this... anyway, on the old version there was an easy way to look at a user's previous usernames. Is that still a thing?
