  1. I think Im in the "So Far" Camp on that one. I agree that it's an incongruity, though the exchange that Haze posted makes me think that Brandon is aware and doing it intentionally for some future payoff. So Ill go with "he hasnt had to come clean or pay for it Yet". As a tangential thought, him having to figure out where the distinction between Standing By and letting Elhokar die vs actively killing could be part of the road he needs to walk to figure out the 4th Ideal (based on the Implied theme of that Ideal)
  2. Well, Galivar&Co's apparent goal was to revive the Everstorm et. al. We saw a way for that to come about, but I would expect that it could have fallen out much differently, especially since Galivar was expecting the Singers to support his goal and help him. With all the discussion of BAM, I find myself thinking that maybe that one is the counter/equivalent to the Sibling; the Sibling seems to have been associated with thegiant fabrial machine at Urithiru, and BAM seems like a being that would do well serving a similar function to a giant Voidlight machine.
  3. Define "Best"? Elhokar: was exactly what he appeared to be in many ways, which few others can claim. He was honest but as self-centered as you often expect one that was raised on a throne. Renarin: Really, REAALLY wants to do good, and is arguably the most selfless of the bunch. Evi: Was trying to do good and be good and make others better, and paid for it. But also sort of blundered into political matters outside her expertise and didnt exactly make much better. Adolin: One of the most classic-style "Good Guys"...except for that thing he did that time... Jasnah, Navani, and Dalinar are all mostly aware of their faults and generally working to make them better (or reign them in to be less detrimental) but I cant really count those on that sort of redemption track to be the "Best". I think Im going Renarin for the Best character right now. Of course, if "Best" means who is the most formidable and could take the rest down if they wanted to, my money is on Jasnah; she's the Batman of this little Justice League.
  4. Do we have know they were Created at all? I thought it was simply a rare natural occurrence, not something that could be manufactured even by the old Radiants. At this point I dont think Im actually opposed to it being an Unmade and a small Perfect Gem, and at the moment it's the only thing I can think of that fits all the vague WoB's folks have posted on it being what people think it was at the end of OB; Id tend to think if it was just voidlight he would have been able to just say so without spoiling anything, but it /would/ have spoiled the whole trapping an UnMade in a perfect gem reveal.
  5. Oh, that's what you were pushing at, I get you now. I agree that size alone doesnt sound to be at all indicative of a Perfect Gem (the larger Greatshells certainly give huge but standard ones). I do think they are distinguishable from standard gems in ways other than the obvious test how long they hold stormlight, but Size and shape alone are not the deciding traits.
  6. Cut Flawlessly? I thought the special thing with those gems was that they were naturally perfect at the crystalline matrix level so they didnt "leak" storlinght through he flaws, that tey were rare because they were a natural occurrence rather than something that could be crafted.
  7. Alternatively, he or somebody he was involved with was able to leave Roshar to obtain it, either in Shadesmar or fully reaching another rosharan planet that has access to Void-light....
  8. Good catch with that Navani quote. I dont think there's any need for that gem to still hold voidlight (if that was it's deal) six years later, the fact that Galivar had somehow obtained Voidlight at all prior to the Everstorm would be significant in it's own right, Id think.
  9. Age/Youth too, now that you mention it.
  10. Did we get a good look at either Yelig-nar gems that were swallowed?
  11. If stormlight can substitute for Air regardless of what surges the Order has access to, I dont understand why it would take more advanced methods to substitute for food. Separately, I have to wonder if Radiant healing (and by extension things like F-Gold) can "heal" Hunger? They can heal all kinds of damage and trauma (physical or otherwise) but they specifically cannot change/heal things that are part of your natural state like Age or genetic mutations. So is Hunger a natural state, or a malformation of your platonic self? I tend to think it would fall closer to Aging, and be outside the realm of that sort of healing.
  12. I dont think so. The Unmade can only be captured in "Perfect Gems" which as I understand it are fairly obviously such, no? I could see it having been another gem used to bond Yelig-nar since that's part of his individual shtick, but I dont see many scenarios where it makes sense to me for Galivar to have been running around with an imprisoned UnMade. Also, was not OB the first time we really saw Void-light in action? Id assumed that was all he was referring to, that and the corrupted voidspren idea that hadnt really been shown prior
  13. But where's the fun in that?
  14. I dont think the argument that she would starve if her body wasnt leaving some food holds up; if holding stormlight can supplement your need to actually breathe Id assume her method could similarly support her directly, either directly or as part of the more general Radiant spirit-based Healing effects. Also, I think she would still poop if she thought she had to. But probably not if she'd committed to the idea that she's transforming food into pure awesome, and in that case I think she'd consider anything she'd successfully eaten to be fair game in terms of digestion, even if there's varying degrees of energy density.
  15. True, but to my knowledge we've never seen evidence that Autonomy has meddled with any world that actually had a Shard present, other than potentially where there were two who'd already violated the non-interaction rule; they're allowed to meddle with worlds, just not with each other.
  16. There once was a man from Sel, Who thought the Shaod was hell, He found a bright Pool, And though it'd be Cool To find someplace new to Dwell
  17. As a fundamental trait of the Shards, NONE of them are "evil". Some are misunderstood, some have been polarized by the Intent of the Shard, but none of the Intents themselves are actally Evil (in the same way that Fire or Death are not themselves Evil even though they are often cast in that light). As to Why Autonomy would object to Harmony: one of the very few things we know about the Hexadieties as a group is that in the beginning they made a pact of non-interaction with with each other, a pact that many of them immediately violated. At the Intent level at least I would assume that the Autonomy Shard (or the host that attracted said shard) would have been behind or at least supported that Pact, and so would have been less than pleased when at least three pairs of Shards immediately violated the pact ans settled together. Also worth noting that all the attacked Shards (save Ambition as far as we know) where examples of pairs that were violating that pact. Harmony would be by far the worst violation because instead of just cohabitation those two shards have been actively Combined. In other words it seems the most drastic step toward the Return of Adonalsium that's happened so far, and I have to think that some or most of those originals would still oppose Adonalsium and/or his return.
  18. The wiki says that Edgedancers were known to be able to "grip the slickest of walls" and all descriptions of Abrasion Ive found all say it's manipulation of friction not specifically the reduction or elimination of it. Myself, I thought that we'd seen Lift make something sticky during the Unity fight, but I may be mistaken.
  19. In Odium's case, I took his belief that he was all of Passion rather than Odium (which Id call a subset of all the different Passionate emotions), it struck me as the same skewed internal perspective that traditionally leads Cynics to self-identify as Realists instead; their perspective itself prevents them from recognizing the rest of the possibilities that exist outside of their own. Its similar(ish) to the popular behavior where people that are sufficiently self-centered/narcissistic/etc enough simply cannot grasp the concept of truly selfless actions, they instead assume that the other person always has some selfish motivation deep down, the way that they themselves would. Ruin is a little more direct, simply, or maybe just objective and physcial an Intent as compared to the more spiritual/relativistic Odium or Honor, so I generally think there's just less room for subjective interpretation there.
  20. Basically what @dantlee said. You arent wrong that from a Butterfly effect perspective they didnt have the opportunity to literally change places because Kaladin would have most likely died at some point along the line (and likely Moash and all of Bridge four without him). But in terms of their character arcs, of the hardships and choices they have faced and made, Moash is choosing the opposite path from Kaladin, most especially where Kaladin almost but did not choose Vengeance (thanks largely to not wanting Syl to die). I see that symmetry, but more importantly I think both of them do too.
  21. One of the theories Ive heard several times is that Adonalsium was a mortal that ascended to full Godhood, in a manner that mirrors some interpretations of Mormon teachings (which Im largely ignorant of personally so I dont want to misstate anything). The way it was explained to me was that one of the possible afterlife options (glories) was that you basically become the God of your own corner of space. If that is indeed an influence on the Cosmere, then there are likely indeed other area's of authority for a As far as actual facts, looking through the Arcanum there is this little nugget: "Adonalsium Shattered because he was killed." Sooo, that indicates 1) Adonalsium had Gender, and 2) he was killed first, which cause the shattering of his power. Sounds to me like he was a heavily Invested Mortal like the current hexadieties, somebody that still had a physical form kicking around.
  22. Sure, at that stage in his journey. But he could very easily have taken the same path Moash did (ie more devoted Vengeance) with only a few small differences in his Choices made.
  23. Ive been wanting to check these out, I absolutely love the concept but have only done the traditional narrators before.
  24. Ive fallen back into ARK. The new Aberration map is amazing, and gives me just about everything I felt was lacking from the more standard Island map they started with, well, everything but an actual story (though they did hide a sort of background easter-egg story in these found items that "explain" the final boss). It's a giant (no seriously) underground cavern map so there's no flyers but they added some great climbing and gliding mechanics. It's still probably unplayable on the Official servers both from the toxic communities (even the PvE has a lot of grief and inter-tribal BS, and from the fact that the vanilla game settings make it clunky and slow as hell and basically a full-time job just to accomplish the basic maintenance to keep you stuff from dying; they really do require a large tribe/guild group effort to work at all. An unofficial server with droprates balanced for single-player, and what have become the standard Quality of Life mods like Structures Plus, though, is fantastic. Eventually I need to get back to my Switch, I spent so much time exploring the map and side content on Breath of the Wild that I never broke down and finished off the final dungeon. And I feel like I should do that before I let myself fall into Octopath Traveler, but fortunately it looks like it might be a while before I could find a copy of that anyway (I hear they sold out their latest printing again).
  25. Is it confirmed to be a godmetal effect? I got the impression when i first read it that it was a similar effect to Nightblood and Azure's blade. I entirely forgot he was given the Honorblade, Id just remembered them sending him to kill the Herald.
