I'm down. I was going to put in a fighter's request but I think a mage's guild would be a good change of pace... so long as we aren't out hunting Nirnroot...

Adventures in Edassa: Summer, 1375 S.E - City of Menkor
BreathTaker replied to Seonid's topic in Inactive RPs
Bran, Banner General of the Raven sat with his two nephews in a dive of an inn, sipping on what passed for good ale here. Of course, it was nothing like the brew back home but that was not the pressing issue here. The three men wore non-descript clothing and wore no visible mark or weapon but only Hugi and Muni could be considered even remotely forgettable. It was... difficult, to say the least for a six and a half foot tall Norther to not be noticed. "Uncle, we have heard some frightful things these last few hours." Muni said in a low voice, "Yes, the Inquisition seems to be everywhere. No one feels safe and it seems to be getting worse by the day." Hugi continued as if his brother's last word was his first. The twins had a way of speaking as though they were one mind. To the untrained eye, one would simply think they were having a re-vision is the brothers passed them individually and seeing double if they were together. That was the way Bran liked it. Taking a long drag off of his pipe, the General sat thoughtful for a moment and reached down to scratch the ear of his wolf who wasn't there, at least he was not visible to anybody but himself at the moment. Bran caught himself before anyone noticed. "Is there any other news I should hear about nephews, or have you only come to tell me what I already knew?" Bran was aggravated but not at his nephews but the lack of anything solid being told to him. The twins glanced at each other and sighed as one, "There is one thing Uncle." "I have seen a group of soldiers gathering near the prison where the Father is being held and my brother has seen other groups discreetly gathering." Bran smiled at the news, he knew what it meant, war. "Hugi, Muni, go report this news to our soldiers. Tell them to be ready to move but to await my order. These people may need our help soon." The twins bowed their heads and left without another word. Standing, the General drained the last of the ale and dropped a silver coin on the table, "Are you ready old friend?" he asked and heard the confirmation from Fen. With a nod he threw on his long jacket and left, heading towards the prison and checking for his dagger along the way.- 31 replies

Adventures in Edassa Information Thread (RP Ongoing!)
BreathTaker replied to Seonid's topic in Inactive RPs
Name: Bran Mariksen Age: 38 Height/Weight: 6'5"/ 250lbs Occupation: Banner General of the Legion of the Gods/ Paladin Distinguishing Features: Long, braided and graying beard, close cut black hair with silver wings at the temples and a scar running over his left eye. Extremely muscled and capable in a fight but also calm and calculating as a general should be. Equipment: Bran wears the traditional plate armor of his calling but instead of burnished steel he paid for it to be lacquered in a deep crimson with black trim. He wears a well woven, crimson wool cloak with a spread winged raven resting between his massive shoulder blades. His armor also bears a raven on the left side of his chest. Very rarely does Bran wear the Tabbard of his order but when he does, that too has been altered to bear his family colors or Red and Black. As for weaponry, he wears the traditional long sword at his left hip but that is a secondary weapon. His primary weapon is a long bladed spear that he wields with deadly efficiency. Bran also carries a long curved dagger on his right hip for emergencies. Bio: Bran Mariksen has been a Banner General for the Legion for going on five years, he has led his forces to many victories against all kinds of enemies and is considered among the greater generals in the legion. Before obtaining an officer's rank he was a spear-man in the front lines and worked his way up to where he was now by sheer force of will and ability to lead and fight. Among Bran's closest friends there is Fenrison, his familiar who Bran frequently refers to as Fen, and his two "squires" (eyes-and-ears) Hugi and Muni. Hugi and Muni are twins as well as Bran's nephews, sons of his sister. Bran is a Northlander who traveled south because he grew tired of his peoples tribal bickering and searched for something more organized. The Court of Gods granted him that unity he looked for and he gave them his spear in return. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Remind me again, what magic do paladins use and how frequently do they use it? Joe, welcome to my pack. If there is anything I need to change, let me know. Edit: I accidentally put sons of his daughter which would make them his grandchildren. It's fixed.- 314 replies

The fight's over, change back! That was Duke's first thought after the mage went down. His human mind knew there were no more enemies but the primal side of him wanted more blood, he looked around and started growling at his friends around him. Then he met Sulen's gaze and snapped out of it, finally the beast relented and the Nord shifted back to his normal self. "Sorry about that," he said in a slightly embarrassed tone, "That much blood-lust isn't good for a werewolf." The rest of the crew seemed to understand and continued looting. Duke walked over to the Ebony warrior who closest resembled himself size wise and studied the armor before removing it. To the untrained eye it appeared to be regular Ebony armor with a "Resist blunt weapons" enchantment but the Nord knew better. There were subtle markings here and there, a Nordic weave running up both ribs a bear's head on the left pectoral. This was his armor, he remembered every nick and dent as if they were put there yesterday. He studied the gauntlets, pauldrons, grieves and boots in a similar fashion and while they were of high quality Ebony the were not his. Rather, they weren't before, they were now, the helmet held no interest for the man. Duke drew his belt knife and hunched of the man's face for a minute or so before standing. When he did get up the helmet of the fallen bandit was placed over his head and duke was wiping his hands and blade on the fallen's shirt. He stood up with a grim smile on his face and a faint rattling in his left hand, "Bastard stole my armor." was all he said before he followed Velth into the mage's chambers, nodding to Nyn as he passed, the girls could stand her own when the cards were down and Duke respected that. Perhaps she'd be interested in joining the fighter's guild.

*Squawk* It's a very magnificent mustache. (It's really not, I have a chronic inability to grow real facial hair, I look like a typical stereotype for young Mexican men, wispy mustache and stupid chin scruff...)- 314 replies

Ya know, I've been playing M:TG for years and I have never played a tourney or against anyone I didn't already know.
-
One that will never pick up apparently... The Raven Throne isn't very popular around the Shard it seems.

Sorry you can't keep playing. So Joe, if this done do you want to do a narrative ending for the team? Like a cuts scene? And then, if y'all are still interested we can work on the next story.

The Modern Magic Thief - A NaNoWriMo project
BreathTaker replied to Talanic's topic in Creator's Corner
*Slow claps* I hope this isn't the last post, but if it is I still can't wait for you to finish this so we can read the whole thing. -
I'm planning on learning Gaelic (I'm half Scottish) not only because of heritage but because it seems like a very dramatic language.

So since I picked up WoT again I can't help but imagine the Paladins as Asha'man who joined the Children. Also, is the magic Paladins use more like Soulcasting or Chanelling?- 314 replies

Shadows began to puddle at BT's feet and rose from the ground like living oil. The darkness formed into chains, a mockery of what his enemy had done to his friends The shadow chains wound their way up the stranger's legs, up his torso, around his arms and finally circled his neck without strangling the man. The King smiled at the terror on the man's face, "First, you will call off your ridiculous assault. Second, you will tell me who you are and what you are doing here. If you lie the chains will tighten and I will claim you as one of my Muertos." This time the King did not yell but talked in a low, calm voice which was more frightening if that was possible.

BT burried his face in his hand, he had everything under control... with a sigh he jumped into the pit, blade reforming in to the BlackShard. He threw the blade and knocked Elsa's ice spike wide, the man was dazed enough that she recovered both items but BreathTaker took the man and slammed him against the wall, "WHO ARE YOU?!" his voice boomed, his Shard reforming as a large black spike with the tip almost touching the man's throat.

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
BreathTaker replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
You walked to the table and found yourself staring at a plate full of cookies, "Hmm," you rubbed you chin for a moment before replying to Bird, "You're right," you said, "This is incredibly frustrating. -
Welcome! I hope you enjoy everything that you find here, and for the most part you grammar was pretty good.

Granted: but my smelly ravens save you and rub their stinkyness all over you. I wish for the power to Steel Push. -
BT looked down at Elsa and Pirh hanging from the chain and nodded, there was nothing he could do but fight this "Court" either physically or verbally.

That is horrible... I'm laughing right now but I don't want to. Ya know... a bald kid probably would have worked too. -
(Yes, yes it is. The Raven King has Slept too long)

BreathTaker and his two undead Cuervos burst in to the room, the King cut through one of the Dragonkin guarding the two women while the Huginn and Muninn mobbed the other guard. Behind those three came Geri and Freki as well as Pirh's entire pack, killing or maiming most of the remaining Dragonkin. Finally after all the enemies had been dispatched the Raven King started for the imprisoned women but before he could make it, a large snake lunged at him. Before he could react Munnin was there in it's black plate armor being squeezed to death by the serpent, without thinking BT slammed his Shardblade against the snakes body but the blade was deflected off of the now metallic creature. Munnin was crushed like a can within seconds, it's animated skeleton sparking as the magic left it, after the spell wore off a large raven climbed out of the crumpled armor. Enraged at the loss, the Raven King's armor began to glow with black flames in sigils etched into the armor. The man reached out, grabbed the snake's head in his mighty paws and began to tear it in half from the mouth all the way to the tail. After BreathTaker dropped the body he continued on his path to Elsa and Pirh when he heard the booming voice, he stopped and thought for a moment before speaking, "Who speaks against these two and for what crimes?" The King's helmet melted away and reformed into his silver crown, his sword shifted into a long bladed spear, both of his Cuervos had reverted back to plain ravens and alighted on his shoulders while Freki and Geri sat at his side. Again one eye remained black while the other glowed a fierce red. "Who speaks?" The booming voice asked after a moment, "I am BreathTaker, King on the Raven throne, Son of Durin and Grandson of Odin! I am King of the dead and those who prefer the shadows! I demand to know what crimes these women have committed!" BT's voice also boomed now, matching the unseen judge's volume in a rumbling bass. (son of Durin not son and grandson of Odin... ew)
-
BT's Sonoran Grey Wolf and his Timber Wolf also joined the group as well as the King's two armored Cuervos. Shardblades don't really have that much of an effect on them. "I am ready to fight by your uh... sides." As he spoke a black helmet materialized around his head with a long red spike sticking out of the front and one eye glowed red. (Like Nightmare) (Two Ravens and two Wolves... get it?)
