It looks like an Amanda! I will call her Amanda Jane and cuddle her and give her all the milk and meat she wants! .... That awkward moment when you realize you've become Doctor Funtimes.

LOOK AT THE BIG BUG EYES If we always rewarded politeness with pug pictures, the world would be a more courteous place.

I recall one book I read, years ago, where a young girl and her family stopped in a hotel in a mining town. Her mother flipped because the newspaper had a column called "Last Night's Shootings." If the media bothered to track shootings in a town where they were frequent enough to warrant a daily column in 1887, then I'm pretty sure the 24-hour news cycle would provide endless opportunities for not only news, but debate and analysis of what the latest Epics could do, what they wanted, where they might strike next, etc.

Definitely after. I wouldn't preempt Backtrack's reaction to this for all the pug pictures in the world.

In the scene with Calamity, it seemed pretty clear to me that he rejected the powers. And Regalia seemed convinced that David rejected the powers as well, because Calamity wasn't telling her why. If David was indeed an Epic, wouldn't Calamity have told Regalia as much?

Is this also Autumn's cue to step in and be the adult? Because unless something drastic happens—something other than Backtrack crying, which isn't "drastic" but rather "Tuesday"—she'll almost certainly tell him "That is enough."

Remember when I said Billy Dent (Blood of My Blood) was like Nighthound? I take that back. He's like a cross between Nighthound and Timeport.

Yeah, that's the problem that comes with starting an RPG based on a series that isn't finished, I guess. Though it would be interesting on some levels to see the "nicer" Epics growing worse as they use more and more of their power to win the war, too much of it could run roughshod over established characterization. Conclusion: We must pants it. How would that work, exactly? I'm for it—I think it would explain how Nighthound hasn't heard of her—but how would she erase herself from memory?

I got all but one—and that was the only one I've never seen all the way through.

I started out writing about Spokane, WA in a world where the development of superpowers in a third of the population causes the collapse of many world governments and sets technology back to about what we had in the 1940s. Then I realized it just wasn't working. So now I'm writing about Spokane, WA in a world where the development of superpowers in a third of the population is about to change the end of WWII (not the outcome, but definitely the end date and a few other things I haven't quite figured out yet). I went from near-ish future dystopia to fantastic alternate history.

At one point in the ceremony, she would speak in a Noodly voice. Meaning she'd hold a handful of noodles to her mouth and speak in a garbled tone.

I haven't told her about the Financier yet, but I have the feeling she'd balk at being married by a chanting Epic whose ceremony involves nearly burning the outhouse down.

And where, after you've had your powers for two years or so, they'll randomly fail and give you the blue screen of death whenever you try to use them.

If you're the worst American, I'm just as bad. Aside from a year in a private school kindergarten, I didn't say the Pledge of Allegiance until seventh grade.

I think we should call him Leelight so we can sing about him in the American national anthem. Oh say can you see? By Dawnzer's Leelight What so proudly we hailed At Night Sorrow's last gleaming... Granted, it makes far less sense that way.

Koschei came to town in late November two years ago, and was killed in early January. Vondra took power shortly after that, and Autumn left the ranger station in favor of a position with the City Guard not long after.

I don't know if they'd be friends, exactly. Autumn has been in town for about two years, but she has an open door policy--if an Epic wants to talk, she'll listen, but she won't force them to tell her anything. So if Emma ever wanted to get the Ty thing off her chest, Autumn would've been there to listen and offer advice if she wanted it.

Having a Bad Day? Stop here for a Good Rant!
TwiLyghtSansSparkles replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
Thanks. And you know the worst part? I thought this lady was making a genuine effort to be more pleasant. Now I'm thinking it was just a ploy to catch people off guard. Terrible, I know. -

So apparently, I'm supposed to KNOW when I need to run a card, even when I'm just told to keep the number on file. Not to run it. To keep it on file. She called me after she left work just to give me a condescending lecture about how I need to get my psychic connection with her up and running. I cannot stand this woman. Oh, and guess what, lady? I didn't listen to your lecture. I set the phone aside and picked it back up when you'd finished ranting. So you used that time for nothing.
