"Annnnnd.....FWOOSH! Haha, oh yeah, that's gonna burn all night! Anyone want some Arsey-Arsey marshmallows? No? Oh well, more for me! Heheh! Sorry, Arsenal, what were you saying?"

Especially when he made Arsenal's topiary.

One thing I'll point out, though, is that none of the comments about inside jokes or friends who watched the show were really submitted as arguments in favor of watching it; rather, they were personal reasons why people chose to watch the show in the first place. I wouldn't submit my personal experience with depression and MLP as a reason for watching the show simply because it may not work for everyone. Some people with depression might find themselves in an even worse state after watching an episode, for a variety of reasons. If you don't like MLP and have no desire to watch it, I won't try to convince you otherwise. My mom tried to get me to read Amish romance for years, and I found those books unspeakably dull. MLP, like Amish romance, isn't for everyone, and there's no point wasting time on it if it isn't your thing.

You've got a ways to go before you're grumpy enough to call emergency disaster relief "an inexcusable waste of resources." I don't know. I'm not entirely sure how I'd fit him in at this point, though I'm not excluding the possibility of a few burning Diamond Queen topiaries for Lucentia to complain about.

I was considering it. A random name generator gave it to me and I liked it. (While I'm trying to puzzle out the meaning behind the face, I'll let you figure out what the heck THIS means: ;( (How do you like THAT? TELL ME WHAT WINKY FROWN MEANS, I DARE YOU. )

No….no, not nearly. Of course, if I really am a male ballet dancer—which I can neither confirm nor deny—it means I am not only a man who dabbles in feminine arts like dancing, but a literate one at that. By the way, what do you guys think of the name Terrence Patton? (Edit: I'm not really a male ballet dancer. )

Before you and Mailliw storm through Corvallis with an army of bodiless ninjas?

Depending on where he is, he could duck into Irritated Rebellion Leader's practice studio. He won't be at the riots.

Age Of Ultron [SPOILERS]

An author named Ted Dekker attempted something (kinda sorta) similar with his Circle trilogy and subsequent Paradise Novels, which, along with related series, tie events on a newly created Earth-like planet to pre-apocalyptic events on Earth, which wind up tying into vampires in the 1700s and a far-future Earth where people have had most of their emotions eradicated by a virus. It's, uh, not successful, to say the least. I've actually made a vow to never reread any of Dekker's older books because I enjoyed them when I was younger, but his newer books are so bad I'm afraid they'll ruin his older stuff for me. Now it's at the point where I actively try to steer new readers away from Dekker because his writing has taken such a steep downturn in quality that his older books aren't worth getting hooked on. Seriously. Don't read them. Not even for snark bait. There are far, far better things to read. Like the Cosmere. If Dekker had put a fraction of the thought Sanderson put into the Cosmere into his own books, they would be far more enjoyable. In other words, my opinion on the Cosmere? It's so fantastic I'll pretend Sanderson was the first one to do it and try my hardest to forget the Chernobyl-like disaster that was Ted Dekker's later books.

Information Resources and Library Science. It's required for most library jobs with any hope of advancement. I am jealous. -
Options…. 1) The Dalles. Epics there have powers that are kind of all over the map, though none of them could be considered OP. This one would be a tad more difficult to join at the moment, as they're in the middle of a panda invasion cease-fire and an attack from Epic cultists. New characters might get lost in the shuffle. It'd be possible, just more difficult to integrate them at this moment. 2) Astoria. Pretty much OP Epics only. Anyone weaker would probably be curb stomped to oblivion. Since there's also an attack going on at the moment, joining might require some creative thinking, though it can be done (as with Timelock). 3) Corvallis. Currently the most new player-friendly thread on the board. The main storyline, about a major member of the government being kidnapped and setting off riots and rebellion, has just gotten underway. There's currently a fight going on at the protest, though it would be easy to write a character elsewhere in the city.

You're not the only one who found that surprising. Especially since Funtimes would be more likely to have a waffle tea party with her than to fight her.

I wish this site had existed when I was in middle school, but I started high school a year before Elantris was published. And now I feel old. -
When you read 1984, that episode will be even creepier.

It is. They have....muffins. (That line will make PERFECT sense once you've finished the episode. )

Possible David Power? Spoilers!
TwiLyghtSansSparkles replied to TheSpartanDuck's topic in The Reckoners
I doubt the circumstances would make a difference. Weaknesses don't affect other aspects of Epicness, like the corruption; even when exposed to their weakness, an Epic is still an Epic. Furthermore, Calamity seems to want his Epics to use their powers to the point of total corruption. So why would he prey on a fear that would make David unable o use his powers, ever? -

Technically, I'm not IN college anymore, since classes ended last week and I'll graduate on Saturday. Now that I have my Master's degree, I shall convert Liebrarians to the Free Kingdoms' cause! -

Having babysat and worked in children's ministries for years, I have to agree. They have a knack for finding the one thing you don't want to have to fix…and messing it up. Don't get me wrong—kids are adorable. They do some of the cutest things. But they can also be draining. Not just because of the constant messes, but because of having to figure out how to communicate at their level, working with their short attention spans, figuring out what will keep them entertained by trial and error, wondering why they suddenly hate the movie they loved last week, trying to find a way to tell them what you just said fifty times without shouting because you know shouting will either make them cry or make them defiant and you don't want either because you really do like the kid, you just wish they'd stop insisting on five brownies for dinner…. Basically, I know I'll probably miss babysitting and teaching Sunday School in a few years, but not now. Right now, I'm just glad it's over. And yes. I'm really, really hoping I land a position as either a teen or an adult librarian. Not a children's librarian. There's a reason the man who leads Minecraft Mondays calls the signup list his "tale of woe." -
Exactly! They're not sitting out there, judging every note and weighing it against the most amazing sound they've ever heard. They're sitting out there, listening to the beautiful music you're making and enjoying it. That applause after your solo? That's them thanking you for playing for them. They don't expect perfection; they expect beauty, and they're going to get it when you play.
