  1. I might copy the FUNTIMES list onto my phone just in case. Don't be too disappointed. I'd probably ask "Would my plan to kill Fortuity with a bikini, a moose tranquilizer, and four or five empty vodka bottles have worked?"
  2. Whelp, I graduate with a Master's degree on Saturday. Then Real Life is staring me in the face.

  3. I'm….getting there. Honestly, though, I don't fault you for forgetting the questions. I might do the exact same thing under pressure, so unless I'd written them down somewhere, I might not remember any questions either. It's the people who have the chance of a lifetime to ask any question they want, any question at all, and they ask if Reckoners is Cosmere, or whether or not Steelheart's invulnerability would make him unable to trim his nose hairs, that make me want to rip my hair out in frustration.
  4. It's perfect for him. Absolutely and absurdly perfect. Quota will get a kick out of it.
  5. Really, the only thing a healing factor would do is give characters who dislike him permission to hurt him in fights (see: Nighthound, Lucentia, Deathwish). PIs don't do the same thing, since death has a tendency to have adverse effects on characters (see: Lightwards) and serious injuries would change the narrative for the foreseeable future (see: Lightwards, Timeport). It is your decision, but there are rules we adhere to, so there's no danger of anyone backstabbing you and killing your character.
  6. There's a rule against killing player characters without permission, so he'll be fine.
  7. *is hoping for a final showdown between Backtrack and Taylor Swift*
  8. I don't want to see my grandmother this week. I know that sounds awful, and maybe it is. Maybe I'm overreacting pre-emptively and this visit will be the best one ever. She's a sweet woman, kind and generous--but also one of the most passive aggressive people I've ever met. She'll make snide little remarks about anything she doesn't approve of, and the list is extensive. She once complained so much about the intentionally dysfunctional family dynamics in The Incredibles that we had to turn it off. And she does that with everything--a room she doesn't think is clean enough, a meal she doesn't think is healthy or frugal enough, a method for vacuuming the floor she doesn't like...the list is extensive. Well, I'm graduating on Saturday, with a Master's degree in library science. And I'm just hoping she doesn't know much about the American Library Association, because I know she'll complain about their policies, and the fact I had to join, and the states where I've applied for jobs because they're not close to her, and the fact I've cut my hair into a bob instead of leaving it long the way she likes.... I want to think the best of her and put the past aside on my special day, but past experiences don't make me hopeful for this visit.
  9. Right. She's not irredeemable; if shown how harmful her behavior was and given an opportunity to escape, she'd take it. I don't see her as unsympathetic at all. (In fact, the more of her backstory I write, the worse I feel for her.) She isn't beyond redemption, but she does need it. Badly. Funniest thing happened during the previews for Age of Ultron, by the way. I doubt anyone cares about the previews being spoiled, but just in case....
  10. Page 23 and no one has mentioned the thread tags yet. Lurking in the shadows indeed.
  11. She's definitely not a good person. I might joke about it, but I don't see her as a hero. Just a more cheerful villain who'd rather people be afraid of how much they love her (to borrow from Michael Scott) than to just fear her.
  12. If your talking about Team Funacid, she's not really even helping them. More just keeping them safe because she wants friends. And I think the whole curbstomping the Trifecta thing was a joke, anyway.
  13. You have good ideas. Non-canon ideas, but good ones.
  14. I don't think Funtimes would be a good influence on Impact right about now. Or that Impact would be a good influence on Funtimes.
  15. Yeah. Yeah, it'll be something bad.
  16. Having sent a disgruntled Arsenal away, Vondra took a seat. Autumn knew that was her permission to do likewise, but she couldn't stop pacing. "Do you need anything before you brief me on what's been happening? A glass of coke? Another firmly worded letter to Reader?" "Two pounds of aspirin," she said before she could stop herself, "a restraining order, and something on an official-looking piece of paper with that fancy letterhead reminding Arsenal that not everyone can make sparking nukes out of thin air, so maybe he should take teleporting a strange Epic into a command center as a cry for help!" Vondra chuckled. "I'll see that you get that aspirin, and I'll have a word with Daniel. I'll need more context for that restraining order, though." Context. Autumn's cheeks flamed all over again, and she sank heavily into a swivel chair. "New Epic. Shiny Sparkle. I….” She heaved a sigh. “I wouldn’t have done what I did if I knew it’d go that far.” She didn’t look at the eyebrows she knew would be raised. She didn’t even sit. She stood and paced the floor, sharing everything that happened from Shiny Sparkle’s arrival to the present time. Every detail she recalled was related as honestly as she could; even if she was inclined to lie, which she was not she knew the truth would surface eventually. Besides, Vondra’s appreciation for honesty was well known. A detail that cast her in an unflattering light, shared openly, would help her case more than a stretched truth that made her look better. Autumn told him everything that had happened, resisting the urge to rant. Mostly. “So then,” she finished, “after I’ve been cuddled and fondled all over town, I have her port us here, hoping Arsenal would break things up.” She pounded her fist against the back of a swivel chair. “I wasn’t thinking clearly. She had us in free fall, flirting the entire time! Seriously, we’re about to splatter all over the pavement, and she’s talking about how cute I am when I’m angry! And Arsenal still doesn’t get it until I kiss her in front of him!” She paused in the silence that followed, reliving it. There had to have been something else she could have done. Grabbed a chair and forced Shiny away like a cartoon lion tamer or something. Anything. “I screwed up,” she finished. Even to her own ears, her voice sounded deflated. Tired. “I should’ve done something more, anything…but I wasn’t thinking. She caught—“ Just then, a voice shrieked over the radio. "Help!" She called in her best panicked voice. "It's Deathwish, he's at the old mill armory and he's killing all of the—“ There was a scream, and the radio fell silent.
  17. You actually used it!
  18. It wouldn't be well known, no, though his infrequent visits to Euphoria would be. I'd imagine that a dancer's refusal to be perpetually happy because it improved his performances--and his near-constant scowl--would be well known. Perhaps Gregory seeks him out to ask a few careful questions?
  19. I don't know about missions, but I can tell you that college is worlds better than high school. Most profs treat you like an adult, trust you to finish the work on your own, and on test days, if you finish before class is over, you can leave early. There is the odd prof who thinks they're still teaching high school freshmen (one I had would make us stay late if we packed up our books early...and on a campus where it could take 10 minutes just to get from one building to the other, she was basically making us late to our other classes because we were packing up our books so we'd be on time) but for the most part, even the mediocre ones are better than high school teachers.
  20. Or, to borrow from Count Rugen in The Princess Bride.... "I just sucked twelve years of your life away. Tell me: how does it feel?"
  21. Awesome. Want me to end his intro with Gregory walking into his studio?
  22. I pronounce it "Zeth." Kaladin I pronounce like "paladin" with a K, and Rock's real name I pronounce "rock."
